Worst weekend deal ever.

I agree with Nietzsche. Pricewise, you're being asked to pay for a brand new TV based console. The idea of current DS owners having to fork out that much just for a bigger screen is sheer madness, especially considering the eventual release of the 3DS.

Andrew - it's not right for Nintendo to be doubling US release prices as standard practice over here in the first place, so I wouldnt afford Nintendo that luxury or excuse.

Perhaps if they made more improvements to the system apart from simply increasing the screen size of the unit (ie. upping the camera spec), there would be serious incentive to invest, but as it stands - nuh uh!

Nintendo must be very confident in themselves to rely on people to adopt this system after revealing that a bigger & badder console is on the way.

A bigger screen is great on the eyes, but as a DS Lite owner I am paying more for something that is less portable. Wasnt the idea the ability to carry these things around in your pocket?
Why do you keep saying "Have to" as if someone is holding a gun to your head forcing you to buy a DSi XL?

If you're happy with your DS Lite/DSi or whatever, don't buy it. It's not a new console. You won't be missing out on any games.

I don't think it's fair to compare the DSi XL to say, a new generation of iPod. It's much more like comparing an iPod Classic to an iPod Nano. They're targeting separate markets, and each product has their own advantage and disadvantages conducive to each market.

So I don't understand the anger. If you want to bigger screens and are willing to sacrifice portability, buy an XL. If you want to keep portability, keep your DS Lite/DSi.
$15 for 3 maps is a rip off and everyone knows it.

one advice: If you have never read the Bible properly and not know much about what Christianity is REALLY about, then I would suggest that you keep your mouth closed on that topic.
I could say the same for conservative groups on learning to understand that a game isn't about training a child to become a killer, and that more ratings = better, but hey they don't really seem to care and choose to use a very popular entertainment medium as a scapegoat anyway.

Oh but sorry I forgot, religious belief can't be questioned or argued against, it's blasphemous.
So basically, your argument is "bububu they do it so why can't we?!"

Look, I'm a Christian. I support the R18+ rating, not particularly because I have a great interest in playing those games, but because I don't generally support censorship. There's no theological basis for censorship within Christianity or Biblical teaching.

The article was flawed from the beginning, because despite what you think of the Bible, you're comparing perhaps the most important cultural touchstone through human history to, let's be honest here, pretty low brow and immature video games that are lucky to be remembered a year after they release.

I too dislike the hypocrisy of groups such as the Australian Christian Lobby. I don't think Australia has ever really been a 'Christian nation', and I'm not shedding a tear over the decline of cultural Christianity. I think by desperately trying to control politics goes completely against Biblical teaching and by doing so, the Christian Lobby does a disservice to their own beliefs.

But I just find it odd that in a campaign in which you've tried to be as inclusive as possible, you'd write an article such as this, which will clearly turn people away. You should be trying to engage the wider Christian community, rather than throw snide remarks at them.

Like pretty much all political movements, you seem to be becoming what you're fighting against.
Probably not the best comparison.
Monkey Island 2 is the best one, so this is good news.
WayForward is developing.

That gives it hope.
Most overhyped announcement since we found out that megaton was a Naruto game.
Profit sharing with your loyal readers? i.e. people who have been reading the site since launch, i.e. me.

I could use some extra cash guys.

Ummm...yay?!

Nobody seems to care anymore when a real, good game tops the sales charts...but I do icon_smile.gif
As opposed to all the fake games?
I thought it would actually be important to mention the game is being published and most likely funded entirely by Nintendo. That's why the game is coming out on the Wii.

It most likely wouldn't exist any other way. So this "bububu Xbox 360!" stuff is pretty ridiculous. Gotta love the little jab that somehow Wii owners aren't gamers.

Poorly written article.
so the DLC is.....a room to access DLC?

After Dragon Age, where one of the speech options was "buy DLC", I'm starting to get annoyed by BioWare.
Bad PAL conversion? Ugh. Guess I'll look at importing it.
I'm not buying a thing until Steam's Christmas sale.
How odd.

Also, once again Sega proves it is absolutely the worst company in existance when it comes to keeping information under wraps. The amount of leaks they've had is pretty funny.
I'm surprised you reviewed this for 360 instead of the PC.

I'm about 25 hours into the PC version now, really enjoying it.
He's voicing a dude called Grunt?

How entirely appropriate.
Adam Baldwin? I hope we get a Chuck reference thrown in, since Yvonne Strahovski is playing the main female character.
Even more reason to buy it on PC!
They wouldn't have had to waste their time if they had dedicated servers and let admins kick cheaters.
Sounds compelling.
Not having overpriced Collector's Editions filled with crap is actually a plus for the Wii, not a negative.
The game actually opened at number 4 in the Australian charts, which was was pretty surprising. I wonder how many people thought it was just another mini-game collection.

Either way, it sounds like a good game. I might pick it up once I've got some extra cash. The Rabbids are some of the best new characters created this generation.
Nice review.

One thing though - I think it's important to differentiate between matchmaking and P2P. In the review you basically used 'matchmaking' as a catch all term which includes P2P.

You can still have 'matchmaking' (in a sense) and dedicated servers.
Let it never be said that gamers didn't bend over when asked.
Something tells me this will be in the bargain bin soon enough.
I disagree that there's no excuse for not owning Modern Warfare.

I could think of plenty of excuses.
Well this is an elightened thread.
Ridiculous port job.

They fit the game onto a regular DVD9 for the 360, but now need 24 GB?
Sounds like pre-emptive damage control.
