LOTR trilogy on one Blu-Ray disc coming later this year.
SOLD!

DD while a nice dream for the companies that run the systems really have a lot of issues with dealing with the customers. iTunes so far is the most successful one out there and it has shown just how many problems there are with it, from title disappearing due to them losing licenses and even just them removing content for no reason at all. It may be nice and quick to use but long term you will ultimately lose a lot of permanent content through these systems.
Well this is surprising news but it looks like Sony still have a solid user base that is just waiting to switch. That said I do admit that I have been buying up much more Ps3 games than 360 in the last few months due to the fact that I'm getting the feeling that a lot of people I know are also looking to get one in the next few months.
Well this is a nice little piece of news, Ubisoft have always been a little more generous on their demo timing with some of their bigger titles so this is sort of expected.

I had a few minutes hand son with it at Egames last year but not enough to get to grips with it entirely, lets see if the demo can change my opinion of "okay-ish generic shooter" to something a little more pleasing.
SOLD! Well more like I'm getting it off Play asia now but still that's all I needed to hear to finally make my purchase.
I would cancel my pre order but I am getting my copy nice and cheap. If it's dodgy enough I can just sell it and order it from overseas that said I'm not expecting to much to change, maybe just a few cutscnees a little blood that's all.
Extending the islands seems logical, I mean if you look around the city yo9u will notice there are already a few bridges that you can't drive on yet that lead off the map so that means they where obviously planning of extending it at some point.

As for the game it's self, I've practically clocked every burnout expect this one, they have mad it just far to hard and th free roaming in a way completely kills it's charm, having to navigate at top speed and do everything else so that you have to come first or lose is simply too much. I haven't finished Paradise and I doubt I ever will, good game but it definetly doesn't live up the previous titles.

And now some Microsoft points thrown in to sweeten the deal.
In dollar value, how much is 500 Microsoft points?
I think it's about $9, so something decent but nothing amazing at the same time.

After playing this at EGames 07 in Melbourne last year I've lost interest entirely in Haze, the version on display obviously wasn't the final release (I had a fairly long play 'caus I was workin for SCE at the time) but man was it just dull, nothing different from any other 2nd rate FPS IMO.

On it being exclusive, I don't see it making many sales and will probably be ported to other platforms later anyway when Ubi notice this. icon_smile.gif
It reminded me of Halo gameplay style mixed with the average visual styles of Unreal or Red Faction, basically it is just another bland FPS that will be forgotten if they don't fix it up. Admittedly it has been looking better recently but nothing amazing just yet.
As far as I'm concerned DD has a definite edge in terms of movie/tv rental but it still has a long way to go before it can take DVD/Blu ray's crown. Blockbuster should be much more worried than the DVD manufacturers. In that regard I've notice that MS and Apple have got it right in offering rental services but pushing for full ownership on these devices is going to be a hard bargain.
Awwww we managed No 2 but still No 1 entry was pretty cool none the less and they deserve the win. Party Time. If we had more time to get the editing right things may of been different but I suppose that can't be changed now, until next time we meet... I must fly?
Also check out the Us store since the God of War PSP demo is up now. Also I've tried Lost planet and it's pretty tight at the moment, visually a little weaker in parts but higher frame rates at times but most importantly it's got almost zero lag with is a real bonus over the 360 version.

Dual Layer DVDs can hold around 9.7 GB, actually.
8.5GB after the Megabytes and Mibibytes thing is adjusted. And anyway a double layer should be 9.4GB if you are just doubling the layer capacity.

Also remember on 360 the DVD's only hold 7.5GB after the security sectors are put in place.
Damn it, I'll be there but I will be rushing off to a TV show premier party at about 4:30-5, should hopefully be back for the late night shenanigans.
Is this demo different to the one they released on the US store? Just I don't want to download the same thing twice.
It's about time they got this one out here, I've been waiting for far to long. As for Wii and Ps3 versions, there won't be one for Beautiful Katamari but Namco have said that we should keep an eye on future Katamari announcements.
Ouch well at least we know how Sega treat the Wii in relation the the game styles, not like we needed it any clearer but they delivered on it.
Most likely just the Ps1 version, still that makes me happy since this means there will be a ton of PSP Vibbing to be done!
If you look at the audio plug for the Slim the controller next to it has quite a few more pins than the original, maybe this is why they can't bring it to the Fat model since it doesn't have the right inputs.
While they aren't favoring PSP over Ps3 that much in terms fo software they haven't abandoned it completely and any way I would blame third party developers for all of those crappy ports.

On another side, how long until this service also comes to Ps3 so they can expand that whole PSP - Ps3 link they are going for?
I think that there are quite a few games you did miss off the list on the Ps3 section but then most of the others are unproven yet or are unknown as to the release date at all.

As for Spore it's also in works for 360 and Ps3 according to announcements about a year ago but I'm not sure if they are still sticking to those.
After seeing it I can see why 3D Realms where trying to slow down the hype, they said it was just a teaser and that a full real trailer is on the way. People where waiting for something that they could never deliver.
It's odd but for the last three updates my Ps3 hasn't been able to detect these when they roll out, if always says that my system is up to date even though others are updating as I check. icon_sad.gif I can do it via a USB key but not through the system any more it is quite annoying.

Hopefully Criterion get it up to scratch with the PS3 version by next month.
Well the game went gold a few weeks back but I have no idea about weather the demo was built after that or if it was of an earlier build.
Well the Ps3 version is up now, not sure when it went up but it was between 3:30 and 7:00am.
Well so far it's downloading on mine but the network isn't handling it so well at the moment. Keeps giving error messages.
Here are some videos of the new track if you are interested.

Funny that with the video. They have been going on about HD content, all the videos on the disc are HD, all the advertisements are made in HD but downloads are SD?!?!

Good for me and my download cap but other than that it's an odd choice at the moment. Just os you know I'm not interested in it but my house mate is, she's a real singstar nut.
I'm pretty sure that 360 will get the demo same day as Ps3 simply because now days both are getting demos simultaneously where possible and I think that EA are on the ball with demos now days and I'm sure they wouldn't want to delay. The only ones that coudl delay it now are MS or Sony relative to certification.
Considering it's a GTA game visually it's quite fantastic but other wise quite avergae compared to others, that said visuals where always going to take a hit this gen on this series simply due to disc speed limitations.

Sony will charge for a premium-level PSN within 12 months. Mark my words.
That's what they said 12 months ago and again about 3 years ago with PS2's online.

Like LeonJ said, expect any subscription based stuff to come from Home rather than PSN.

As for this Silver demo lock out thing, this practically means I won't need to keep my system hooked up to the network any more if this is how they are going to treat their customers. It was bad enough when it was the Crackdown demo but doing this across the board is just plain stupid especially considering that originally the only difference between Gold and Silver was the multiplayer.

Many people will say that I should just get a gold account but personally I don't want one because I don't game online much at all, it's not worth $80-$100 a year just to get demos and a few matches on Bomberman in.

Consider MS on my hate list again where I don't want it. icon_sad.gif
