If anyone does consider buying one now its worth checking the playstation store to see what games are available. The choice is limited and not priced that well.

Anyone know if Sony released other beta codes on the PlayStation site? I'd assume so, other wise its rather odd that Sony would release codes here and not through their own site. Meh, just a thought out loud

Playstation 3 firmware 1.80 added 720p support.

Downscaled output of Blu-ray Discs is now supported. When 720p is selected as the video output setting of the PS3â„¢ system, Blu-ray Discs that were recorded in 1080p or 1080i resolution can be played in 720p resolution.

Anyone else pick up on the fact the story ends with him entering a stasis pod and yet that is exactly where he began his adventure at the start of Halo 1, emerging from a stasis pod. Looks like a well done set up for another story/saga for Master Chief.

I found my controller timed out and powered off after a while. Never use to do that. Least thats something ok from the update.

If its like the old online ps2 games the game is hard coded to connect to servers where the game was purchased. Like if you got the aussie version the servers would show AU and EU. I don't believe there is any way to connect to other servers without actually buying another copy of the game from australia/europe. I could be wrong.....

If Sony has the psp running at full speed now it'd be nice to see there is a new battery coming out for it. Originally I thought they said that they wouldn't allow the full use of the cpu till the battery was sufficient. Wait and see I guess. Though I don't really classify that as something very exciting lol

The online is alright. It only supports like 10 people i think. The rest of the slots are filled with AI cars. I don't think I've logged onto it since the day after the PS3 launched....
Shame the game is last years season though.

Bloke here at my work had his 360 die just recently. Sent it to microsoft and they sent him a refurbished machine. Well that machine worked worse then the original one he had. He had an extended warranty with EB, walked in the other day said what the did to him and EB just gave him a brand new machine. Not bad I reckon.

My own 360 is now out of warranty and I can sense it slowly dieing again. Ah well......Its not like we can expect to pay hundreds of dollars for something that will last. Right?

From the playstation site the psp downloads are set up through a store and thats pretty crap. Why bother with another store.

I played in the beta for Socom 1 before the online side of it went public. Everyone one in it at the time was polite, friendly and the game ran excellent. Awesome clan matches and just an all round good experience. Once it went public one too many people brought the community down.

I would like to add that I have had my 360 repaired. Worked for about 5 months after launch then gave me the 3 red lights. Its working now but I get some fairly nice grinding action coming from the cd drive these days.
My brother has just had his 360 repaired. It ran roughly about 5 months also.
No electronic device will be perfect I believe. Its luck of the draw I guess.
