The first time I was introduced to it my area manager, 15 years my senior, was saying goodbye while I was in the middle of doing something. Finished up at Dick's today after 2 years. Good time to get out by the looks of it, don't think my store will be closed as we just recently moved to a brand new location and business has been decent but the other store in town I can't see surviving, they are hopeless.
Now JB... JB is a company I can get behind. Run by people who actually have a clue about how to run a tech business. From working at both JB is a massive improvement in every way.
Working at Dicks at store level has been awesome but management is frustratingly bad. It seems to be run by a bunch of old cunts trying far too hard and failing to rebrand the business as hip and happening to attract gen-y, whilst neglecting other parts of the business which desperately need rectifying.

Bought my sister Skyward Sword for christmas for my old Wii that I had given her which I'd softmodded years ago. she lives about 1500km from us so I was hoping the last update I did to it about a year ago would suffice for the game to work. She rings up yesterday because she's got a long weekend and wants to play it but "it isn't working." Cue me spending three hours this morning on the phone to her, assuming it's a software issue, getting her to download this and install that to the wii to try and get it to work, still no luck. The last thing I get her to try I hear the game starting up and ask her if it's working, she says "nah the remote is still just flashing." I'm like wut... wait is it the game or the remote that's not working? Apparently the game had been loading up fine until she got to a screen to connect a wiimote with motionplus, attempting to do so with her new Zelda remote from the CE but it wouldn't work. I ask her if she's synced the remote.... no. Fuuuuuuk. Got her to sync the remote and it works.

Yeah seems they're looking to get rid of the PS2 stock, all trade-ins are now worth $2, probably won't be long till they get rid of them altogether (last week they stopped doing Xbox (original) trade-ins. I don't think my store had any signage up for the 50% off but it should scan at the right price, just get someone to check for you.

About 10 years late but I just finished watching Oz. Now I've never been one to get emotional about characters or situations on TV shows, but the lead up to *spoilers**spoilers* Cyril O'Reilly's first time at the chair, to be honest I actually full on bawled. Other than that an amazing show.
This is about the 3rd time I've posted here haha, each time nothing has come to fruition on my end but I think I'm in pretty desperate need of something now, still running a 7 year old Dell which I don't think will last much longer..
Looking around $1400 tops, have come up with this so far. Would very much appreciate any comments/suggestions you may have, any way I can save money on it as well if that's possible. Will possibly be looking at 2x 6950s in the future too.

Kindles have been selling like hotcakes at work. Some douchebag rings the store today asking about them. First question he asks if we've got the 3G model in stock (Which we have for $219), yes. Next he asks what the best price we can do them for is. I say the price advertised is definitely the best price, which is literally $10 above the cost on our system.
He asks, "How come?". Taken aback, I say basically we can't discount them at all, we never have been able to and it's definitely the best price we can do.
"But I can get them cheaper online" he claims. No shit motherfucking sherlock. I sort of let our a snort/chuckle of disbelief, "You do realise how online business works, right? They have minimal overheads, staff etc compared to us but there are the obvious downsides to it as well" Not to mention I've since found that importing the same model from Amazon themselves costs ~$210 anyway.

Haven't read half of the argument, but from what I can see what Benc82 wrote is pretty much what I think.
By most people's definition, I'm racist, not going to lie. Growing up in north Queensland it's something that just happens. People call us racist rednecks or whatever, I don't think they can really form a proper opinion until they've actually experienced what it's like to live in such a place. If I'm walking down a street at night, black man coming in the opposite direction, I'll cross the road. White man, no problem, say hi, whatever. Black kids in the shop, keep an eye on them at all times. Most white kids, no problem.
This has nothing to do with the media, everything to do with my own personal experiences. I find it hard to believe that someone can expect another person to be completely neutral towards a certain race when myself and my friends and family have had run ins with members of the race throughout my entire life. Mates being chased and bashed at random by mobs. My sister threatened to be bashed and killed over a game of touch football. Stuff being stolen left right and central from my work etc etc.
I completely understand if they were to feel the same about my race as well. I don't doubt that they've had run ins with my people before.
Some people just seem to live in a dream world where the mind doesn't make certain assumptions and doesn't classify/link to past experiences.
To me openly hating a particular race is what being racist is all about. Most people here don't hate people because they're black, they're just more cautious around them, when they hear about bad stuff they might link it to that particular race. I've had plenty of black mates, and I'm sure the guy I just crossed the road for is a nice bloke who wouldn't hurt a fly, but I just can't shake the 19 years of experience to be completely open and willing to treat everyone equally at face value.

Exam tomorrow which I have a lot of cramming to do for tonight. Normally I've got a few more hours in me before I drag myself off to bed, tonight on the other hand all I want to do is sleep. Shit's fucked.
Also the quality of my lecturers. I learnt more about statistics today on Youtube thanks to the channel "StatsLectures" than I have in the last 6 weeks of uni. Doesn't help that my uni seems to mostly hire people who don't speak fluent English and don't rationally explain the topics at hand. When they do have a brilliant, dedicated and understandable teacher (whom I had last semester), they don't renew her contract due to "cost cutting", despite petitions and pleas from the student body. Money grubbing cunts.

So who got sucked in again? Certainly me.
Only played multiplayer so far, my quick thoughts so far:
Maps seem really small. Was just playing FFA last night for a bit, spawn, kill someone, shot in the back. Repeat. Can't see me playing much public, every boy and their dog thinks they are quick scoping pros and the bolt action scope (L96 again? I forget) is ridiculously OP, one hit kill everywhere. That and it feels like it has Sleight of hand pro from MW2 on as default, scopes in super fast.
M16 has been nerfed to shit, fire rate is so slow, comes up against an auto AR and you have little to no chance. Still use it though because it looks like the CoD4 M16 and I love it.
Hopefully 4v4 customs go alright because that's all I'll be playing. Usually play 5v5 SnD customs but it doesn't seem to be all that suited so far.
One good thing I'll say is that hit rego is again a feature of CoD, something that went missing with BO. Though anti-lag is still evident and you'll find yourself getting shot around corners a fair bit.
As my mate said last night, I think they should just release a new extra large map pack for CoD4 because that game was fucking perfect.

Yeah went into my local HN for the first time in ages yesterday to get Infamous, was very surprised with their pricing, most of the stuff was cheaper than JB.
Anyway last night I picked up:
Call of Duty MW3: Traded in Infamous 2 - Not liking it all that much so far. To be honest I much prefer Treyarch now as devs, if only their net code wasn't so bollocks. Only played an hour or so last night though because I've got to do a fair bit of study, will get more into in a week or so.
Also last week picked up Battlefield 3 on 360. Traded in Crysis 2, Fifa 11, RockBand and a few DS games I forgot I had for $89 all up. Actually an amazing game. Shits all over CoD. That's pretty big coming from me whose gaming has consisted mainly of the yearly CoD over the last 4 years.
Anyway last night I picked up:

Seeing this on the internets. I've been to a number of these parties, actually the safest, funnest place to get drunk and have a good time I've ever been. Perfect sensationalism. Love the cafe owner expert on fake IDs who hasn't lived on the island longer than 6 months talking about how out of control the parties are that one person died from drink driving.
The good thing to come out of this is a tonne of free promotion for schoolies and this month's party.
