Just started playing hot pursuit on 360, not bad but like everyone the controls take a bit to get used to. Hopefully I can beat some of your times icon_smile.gif
Don't play / play less?

Games are supposed to be fun yeah?
Just completed pacman championship edition on 360 (all achievements), now ready to move on to DX icon_smile.gif
With the state of the Austalian Internet they would probably make a killing doing that.
I am quite frustrated at the moment, got the Cataclysm disc and installed it fresh (new PC, no previos WOW install) only to find that it then requires a 6.8GB download as well!

I am hoping this is an error and have contacted support, currently waiting for a response.

It has been 2 years since I played last and I was looking forward to getting back into it without having to download gigabytes of updates. Looks like that was not to be...

Anyone know if it is possible to get discs of the latest builds? My problem is I have a monthly download limit of 6GB so I am screwed icon_sad.gif

My only other thought was to go to an internet cafe and see if it is possible to rip the updated install file to an external harddrive and then bring it home. Desperate times....

If you are in Adelaide, Shin Tokyo in the city have a good range. Morning Glory also have some usually.
Re: Forza 3 (2 years ago)
Dang, still havn't cracked 50% yet icon_sad.gif
(nearly there though about 49% I think)
Nowe try playing 2 player by yourself, left-hand / right-hand! icon_smile.gif
Re: Forza 3 (3 years ago)
Currently 33.4% complete with 42h 17:14 played and slowly working through the event list. My plan is to work diagonally across and down so as to mix up the race types. The last thing I want to end up with is a bunch of endurance races to finish off at the end as I will probably give up!

The problem is that I also want to finish off the time trials as well. So many things to do!
I think it is probably the best multiplayer experiance I have ever had. I am lovin it!

Haven't spent much time with the single player side but it seemed good, I usually know who I need to be shooting at, unlike MW2, which is a plus.
A bit of extra competition is always good!

Sign me up too please icon_smile.gif
It is a pretty fun racer but I will take more tha a few cars to stop me playing Forza and get back into for more than an hour.

Borderlands from JB $89 icon_neutral.gif

No chance of getting Forza yet icon_sad.gif
Playing on the 360 I have not encountered any bugs yet, apart from the fact that the leaderboards appear to be broken which is a disappointment but not a deal breaker.

I agree with The Answer that the drift events are a bit sucky, they really feel out of place compared to the rest of the game, the complete change in the racing physics is ridiculous but once you find a car that works for you, you will be able to win events. I generally skip them for the most part and when I do feel like giving it a try I do a whole lot at once so that I don't have to keep switching between the two styles of driving which can be very jarring.

The main part of the game however I am loving as the racing gives you a great sense of speed and being on the edge of control (or maybe that is just my bad driving icon_smile.gif ). Racing online also seems to very smooth and trouble free.

A really good review.
After spending the weekend away I had a bit of a chance to play "The Quest" on iPhone. It is basically an old school RPG in the vein of Eye of the Beholder etc and so far it looks like it has got quite a large scope for an iPhone game, after a couple of hours playing it I would recommend it to anyone who like these older style RPGs.
Why would anyone want to play something that violent? Our fragile minds need protection from this kind of satanic game. You should all be ashamed, the OFLC is our last line of defence in protecting us.

Anyone that wants an R18+ rating just wants to play **** and murder simulators!

FOR SHAME!

Need for Speed Shift
Played it for 2.5 hours straight tonight and I am loving it. The sense of speed really puts you into the cars and the drivers seat in particular. Playing in the cockpit view is the way to go as the point of view is constantly shifting to suck you into the role. The game is full of exciting moment that I just cant wait to talk about, flying down the straight at Nuremberg knowing that you are on the very edge of control as you near the end and have turn and brake; clipping the back corner of a rival car at top speed, watching him start to spin out beside you and then glancing in the rear view mirror to catch him flipping through the and think "holly shit, did I just see that?"

All I can say for now is, if you like racing games at all, go out and buy this today! The difficulty is completely adjustable so it will cater to the widest audience so there is nothing to be afraid off.

BUY IT NOW!
Re: Your newest purchase (3 years ago)
After hearing that JB were having a clearance sale I decided that I would go and have a look, while there were a couple of well priced games I was overjoyed to find that Need For Speed Shift was being put on the shelves already.

After reading IGN's review thismorning I was happy to part with $89 for it.

Also picked up:
Mystery Dungeon - Shiren the Wanderer for $17.50 (DS)
Civ Rev for $19 pre owned (DS)
Spiderman 3 $20 (360)

Quite happy with the haul icon_biggrin.gif
Shift is out now at JB in Adelaide (Rundle Mall), just picked it up icon_smile.gif
Re: Battlefield 1943 (3 years ago)
I have been meaning to get back into this if I can find the time, still need the last achievement icon_smile.gif
Can' wait to get my hands on this!
Just got 1000 for DiRT ready for the next one

Just had to keep racing to get the 1000 miles achievement, was also surprised that I had no trouble finding a multi-player race, and its still good fun!
Civ Rev $5.99 - SOLD
Re: Battlefield 1943 (3 years ago)
I hated the planes at first as well but after a few matches of Air Superiority I managed to get the hang of them enough to be able to get a few kills in the air, its very rewarding and one of my best matches so far involved circling around the island, raining death from above and shooting down bombers whnever they showed up. It was the first time I managed to get in the top 5 for the match rankings! So much fun!

It suxs that you can't connect ManeKast, I have yet to have any trouble with conecting, but as you say it may be due to the times I am playing.
Re: Battlefield 1943 (3 years ago)
I spent a bit more time with it over the weekend and found it to be pretty stable the whole time, not much lag at all (and I am on 3mobile wireless)

The best thing about it is that there is no downtime between matches, as soon as one finishes the next one loads up, this means that every time I finish a match and think about calling it a day, the next match has already loaded up and I think to myself, ahhh just one more then!
Re: Battlefield 1943 (3 years ago)
This is the first Battlefield game I have played and I am loving it, the lack of maps at this stage doesn't bother me as I am still learing them, and I assume more are on the way.

Racked up a couple of hours last night but still cant wrap my head around how to control the planes with any degree of skill.
About $280 for a mint copy of Chrono Trigger about a year ago followed closely by Radiant Silvergun for $250 about a year and a half ago.

Both on the high side but still very happy with the purchases.
My current favorite on the iTouch:
Reign of Swords - I think this is on sale now as the sequel is coming out soon. $1.20?

It is a medieval strategy game in the style of advance wars but instead of building units during the battle you purchase them at the start of the battle and have to use them to get the job done. Unit selection is very important as you are only given a certain number of points for each battle and the more powerful the unit you select the higher its cost. After each successful battle you are awarded with additional units and unit upgrades. Eventually you can build up a powerful army of units that you can draw upon. But there is always a point limit for each battle to keep things challenging.

If its still on sale it is a must buy otherwise I would recommend it to anyone who likes turn based strategy games.
That's a great review and I agree with it completely.

I am still having a blast with this game, I have nearly finished the single player storyline, and I'm looking forward to playing a bit more multiplayer. I've had a few games already and they were all great fun, especially once you get a feel for the maps. There also appears to be a bit of depth added in multiplayer in the way that you earn experince as you play which allows you to unlock various visual upgrades.
Looks great and the track shown looks much more detailed and interesting than the ones in number 2. Heres hoping they bring back the mountain road driving as well!
