Re: Teacher Stories (5 years ago)
I knew no one would believe me.

shows how immature most internet users are.

I was sharing my experiences here to see if a new bunch of people are just like the next, seems it's still the case.

set in our ways aren't we people.

some MS fanboys will be extremely hurt by this news.
Bill Gates apparently attended Kelly Clarkson's Seattle Concert on the 12th November
and she dedicated her song "Chivas" to him towards the end of the show
and asked him for a dance.

I didn't know this about Bill but he certainly has better taste for music than Steve Jobbs.

I've had sexual relations with one of my past attractive female teachers who left the school many years ago, certain things happened secretly on camp many years beforehand.

no one believes me and every time I tell people they think it's a joke.

people can't grasp the fact that it's happening all over australia every single day secretly and only once in a blue moon will a secret be exposed and everyone freaks.

it's human nature people

OLEDs will not appear in computer monitors for a long time or if ever. There are already technologies that surpass them (SED for one which is due next year) and they don't last very long.

Unless you meant LED backlit, which the answer is still no it'll be still CCFT(sp?) as LED screens are limited to 15.4" for the moment.
Macbook Pro comes in 15.4inch and 17 inch so I think you're wrong there.

Macbook Pro screens are LED.

I'm pretty sure there's a delay for PS3 as Microsoft have paid for exclusive development on the title for the 360, did you forget about that.

it was announced 2 years ago
so is this monitor OLED or LCD?, someone forgot to mention
Macbooks keyboard is awful and yes I've used so many macs to tell the difference, flat keys are awful (where's the ergonomics in that)

Mabooks only letdown is the keyboard.

Macbook Pro's don't dent easily either, I have hit my screen against the side of a wooden coffee table pretty hard and no dent, it takes a little bit extra to dent one accidently, they're tougher and more solid than they look.

Apples hardware may be overpriced but that's a small fee you pay for special hardware you can't buy anywhere else and OS stability & convenience, I would easily pay an extra $200 for the Black Macbook, it looks better, the white macbook marks and discolors easily.

Magsafe power connectors are so fucking convenient and innovative.
good thing Apple trademarked and patented the technology/

PC's wish they had this kind of technology, I've broken 2 laptops through the breakage of a power connector. someone trips on the cord, the connector bends and snaps the internal part of the laptops power source and since it's connected to the motherboard, an instant $900 repair

Magsafe breaks away easily at any angle and it's magnetic, don't even need to insert it, it just finds the power port and snaps in place.

cheap and nasty compared to the Titanium shell Macbook Pro

Pro has better keys, ambient light sensor, bigger screen and faster processor

I think you'll find it hard to get all of those features with the amount of money you want to spend. Yeah, the Macbook Pros are lovely, but are they going to play all of the latest games?

Plus its out of your price range.
It will play PC games normally if you have windows installed under bootcamp.

The new macbook pro graphics cards are top of the line and play games flawlessly.

best damn gaming laptop ever

the new macbook pros are running an Intel Core 2 Duo's at 2.6GHz

most new PC laptops aren't running past 2.0GHz with the exception of the best laptops running 2.16GHz.

once again Apple raises the bar and the Macbook Pro remains the fastest and most powerful commercial laptop on the market

this is why I am looking for a career in retail next year.

I can't lie to people like that, I know you can make more sales by lying to people because they are sheep they'll believe anything you tell them.

I'd rather help people and be loyal because being helpful and loyal to customers helps bring them back to buy more later on because they trust you and will often ask for you as they feel comfortable because of how well their last sales with you went.

I am the sort of person who would tell you the ins and outs of a product and have an A,B,C plan for the persons budget.

comparing each of the packs, writing down the comparisons on a bit of paper and handing it to them.

Sales reps like that always try to sell you the most expensive product and shun out the cheaper versions, WHY, because it makes more money and money is honey.

older adults like to see facts drawn on paper, it helps them to make better wiser decisions with their money.
I gave a negative vote because I felt like it

someone has to be different around here
OMG I have never known a company to back pedal so quickly, actually I do, Nintendo do this with release dates, accessories and much more all the damn time.

e.g.

the Wii with built in DVD player, announced, put on hold, given a rough release date, cancelled.

Zelda TP: announced as a gamecube game, scheduled for a Nov 2005 release, at last minute Nintendo announces it needs more time and will be released may 2006, may 2006 comes no game, E3 comes around and it's announced as a Wii title, I was waiting for it still after 8 months or so, it gets released Dec 2006 on Wii (No gamecube version) a week later finally since Sept 2005 I finally get to pick up the gamecube copy I pre-ordered just over 15 months ago.

^^ this was the biggest piss me off Nintendo ever did, and they said it was to make the game better, it was hardly worth the wait when I finally got a copy, it was just what I thought it was with let downs in between.

The only company who isn't backpedaling is Microsoft.

they are true to their gaming platforms.

with M.S they cut the bullshit, tell you exactly what you need to know and won't tell you something unless there's a definitive YES answer.

as for their other businesses it's sometimes a different story, but gaming is solid.

if 10.5 has been running fine and you haven't been experiencing any problems then you might choose not to install 10.5.1 update

I haven't had any problems with Leopard so far but I installed the update anyway as I like to run the latest, some third party apps have been said to go haywire after the 10.5.1 update, but if they are high quality builds they should work as normal or better.

with the 10.5.1 update I've notices improved speed performance on my iBook G4 & Macbook Pro.
i'M HAPPY ABOUT THIS

being an iTunes Power User and Apple whore that I am

for the last 4 years I've stood by the AAC audio technology, it's much higher quality compared to MP3, MP3 should be long gone by now.

nothing in my house uses MP3 files anymore

no licensing fees means high quality audio at lower bitrates (more songs for us) and Nintendo doesn't have to pay a german company to license a shitty old technology.
Re: Blu-ray VS HD-DVD (5 years ago)
Sony CEO Howard Stringer spoke at a few days ago in an event in New York who seems a little pissed that Sony's format BluRay will never be the next format to over turn DVD and that all comes down to Warner Bros (some joint studio titles) Paramount & Universal signing exclusive deals with HD-DVD.

Sony CEO says he wishes he could travel back in time before the release of the HD disc formats and bring peace to the format war and share the HD market with competitors.

seems no one will ever agree, luckily the majority of movies I watch come from Universal, Paramount & Warner Bros so this isn't a huge issue to me, sure I'm pissed a little, but this is what the world is coming to people, companies are greedier than ever and want to control and own everything they can.

at least DVD won't die soon, I can't stand DVD quality much anymore, but I won't settle for anything less than it.

I pray the Hard Disk and the internet bring HD content straight to our homes via fast downloads.

I mean out of the 600 Digital Cinemas with 4K projectors in the world, movies are sent to Theatres on HDD's via physical delivery or downloaded straight to the Cinema server from the movie studio.

downloads are the future, this means simultaneous Cinema & Home Movie releases all around the world in the next 5 years (hopefully)

no more fucking delays, the world will unite.
I didn't even think one existed in Australia

^Blockbuster in the US (and the ones I know of in QLD, not sure about Australia wide) have chosen to back BluRay over HD-DVD as it was getting more sales.
apparently BluRay is only currently leading because of PS3 consoles which have the BluRay player built in.

according to some sources, they say more stand alone HD-DVD players have been sold than Stand alone BluRay players.

So Sony will fail again because they have marketed their whole strategy to a small video game crowd, well done sony but what about the rest of the world who will never be interested in buying a PS3.

Stand alone HD-DVD players are expected to retail for around $199.95 USD around XMAS time

so we might be able to buy a stand alone HD-DVD player for around $400 AUD or less.

that's very persuasive to XMAS buyers.

since HD-DVD players are region free, you could easily buy a U.S HD-DVD player and have it shipped here for less than $300 AUS, and don't worry because most HD-DVD players have a universal power supply, the only thing you'll need to swap is the AC cord.

ofcourse AUS DVD's probably won't play on it as it'll probably still incorporate the DVD region coding, but it's the High Def region free movies you want right?
Universal, Paramount are only selling their High Definition movies on HD-DVD, more movies that I like are on HD-DVD so that will be the decider for me.

My mate who runs a Video Ezy franchise, had told me that Video Ezy plan on backing the HD-DVD format because it's cheaper to replace, so far none of my local Video Ezy stores are selling or leasing any HD discs and video ezy are supposed to be rolling out the HD market by March 2008.

I have no idea if Video Ezy will stock BluRay, my guess is they will because it would be stupid not to, the PS3 crowd are worth the extra revenue aren't they?.

since it's a corporation they could change plans at anytime, this is just the insider information which I have been told, this is speculative until official announcements have been made.
Re: Blu-ray VS HD-DVD (5 years ago)
I can buy brand new HD-DVD's for $29.95 in AUS, BluRay discs cost me $44.95 +

and if I import HD-DVD discs they're even cheaper at $25 inc postage

HD-DVD is cheaper and therefore more video rental stores will adopt it over bluray which will eventually see HD-DVD take over.

although since sony are assholes with BluRay and will only release sony movies on BluRay, I can see sony movie studios the only ones to be stubborn and not give into dual formats in the long run.

DVD will be victorious for another 10 years by the looks of things.

HD-DVD will hopefully catch on, it's cheap, the discs load faster and the quality is the same as bluray at a much lower cost.
Nintendo Australia need a fucking bullet to the head

so they delay games and then expect us to pay full price for them

fuck off, by the time the games come out I'd have found something better on XBOX 360 or bought another Apple product
Re: XBOX 360 or Wii? (5 years ago)
I say 360, brilliant machine.

if you have really bad eye sight then maybe the Wii is for you as you won't be able to tell the difference.

to me clearer is better

I regret buying a Wii in the first place.
OMG my 360's haven't got the RROD just yet, one is a launch system and the other one is a recent model manufactured in May this year.

prays I never see this RROD problem.

so far my Wii has multiple problems and the 360's have had none.

lucky me, I hate my Wii, buggy piece of crap (it is a launch model with the latest firmware)

Harry Potter series is some of the only Warner Bros films coming to both HD-DVD & BluRay, films like Batman probably won't see the light of day on BluRay, have no idea why.

I like the HD-DVD technology better, it's not bloated like BluRay
