Need star points now!

you can get points for buying a 3DS right? The Zelda one might give me the last amounts I need for this.
Massive thanks!! First time I've actually used the 3200 points I've had just sitting on that website. Can't wait for them to arrive.

Have been playing a fair bit of this while also juggling all the other games I am currently playing (Skyrim, AC: Revelations plus a couple of others). Really loving it, just getting the key parts to get into the second temple.
LeonJ you should be all good to go in and get your money back, by the looks of it they must of just accepted the price in the system at $149 since that was the set RRP. Could have been anything from just a new Xmas Casual on the til not knowing the price to the game people not advising the counter staff on what the price should be.

Got home today after picking it up at work. Replugged in my Wii to the TV thinking I might just check it out for a little bit, ended up forcing myself to stop 5 hours later. Very awesome games, liking the motion control on it.
Once you finish the main storyline of the single player game you can select the skin that you want to play as Batman, if you select the Animated skin Batman, Catwoman will also be Animated.
Re: Dark Souls (1 year ago)
Thanks to the tips I got the other day I am now cruising through some parts, made it through Blighttown much easier with some high poison resist clothes and defeated Quelaag and rung then second bell. After that I pretty much gorged myself on bosses/mini bosses. Took down Ceaseless Discharge, Both Hydras, Sif and Stray Demon.

Loved Ash Lake for the bounty of Dragon Scales which I used to upgrade my Drake Sword to +4 and have now entered the Path of the Dragon to collect some more to finish it off. Does any one have any idea if you can extend the Drake Sword past +5?

Well played Benza, well played. I was so confused while scrolling down thinking "Why the hell is he posting all this Naan".
Re: Dark Souls (1 year ago)
Got this when it was released and have been so addicted, its been my procrastination game while I've been putting off uni work icon_razz.gif. Having never played Dark Souls and not reading up anything about the Characters before I started I chose a Bandit and have been enjoying it thus far. I am level 37 at the moment and have been having trouble with Blighttown. I've been around a bit but feel that I need to level up a bit before heading into Blighttown, is there any easy area for farming some souls? Or even another area i should venture through before Blightown (Having also ventured through Darkwood)

Also at the moment im just using a Drake Sword/Shield combo, should I look into any magics?
Im thinking just because this is the last time he is going to be playable doesn't mean he is going to die in the series. Unless he ended up getting killed at the end of ME2.
Well I ended up getting to about 85% sync with AC: Brotherhood last night and ended up just deciding to finish the last of the story missions I had left, it was still an amazing game but after going though probably 25/30 hours of gameplay I felt I have done enough. Very awesome game, and glad I got it finished before Revelations is out. Now this means I can go through some of the other games that have been taking up my back catalogue before the influx of massive games at the end of the year.
Wow that is looking very awesome. I never knew they changed the voice acting for Bloodlines I enjoy this Altair much more than that bland American accent they gave him for the first game. I do like that they have brought the confessions back just for Altair, its give more of a personal approach and shows that each Assassin is different.
Im patiently waiting by my computer, picked up a copy when everyone mentioned the massive bargain they had online at GreenManGaming, got mine all pre-loaded and ready to roll.
Trying to get through AC: Brotherhood too. It is such a massive game, with so much to do but the great thing is that it makes you feel like you've accomplished something even if you only play it for a short time. Hoping to try and 100% sync it before Revelations is out.

What's your budget?

I would throw in an AMD 955 CPU. It's backwards compatible so you can avoid having to upgrade your entire motherboard. It's a nice low-mid range CPU that has no trouble with games of today. Just make sure you throw an aftermarket cooler on it because the fan it comes with is shockingly loud.

Your memory is fine.

I recommend upgrading to a 560Ti or 6950. Both are a sweet spot for price and performance. What's your monitor resolution?
Was looking to spend about $500ish but if there are some much better suggested products I can go a little higher.

Thanks for the suggestions I was hoping Id be able to just upgrade only a few products instead of just completely redoing the entire computer. Usually most of the time when I run the system through canyourunit.com its usually the CPU and graphics card that don't do as well.

Monitor is n LG W2343T runs at 1920x1080

Also by the looks of it my mobo is only an AM2/AM2+ compatible so i'm guessing if i end up looking at the AMD955 id have to upgrade the mobo to a AM3 compatible one right?
So I recently have received my tax back and have decided to put it into upgrading my computer, I’ve had these current specs for a few years now and while it hasn’t been really having too many problems I feel it might be good to upgrade it soon for the incoming awesome titles being released at the end of this year. I thought I might check with the Master Race here to see how I can go about updating my hardware and what to get. Here are the specs:

Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5000+ (2 CPUs), ~2.6GHz
Memory: 4GB RAM
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT
Mobo: ASUS M2N SLI

Hopefully thats at least the main specs you guys are wondering about, if there is anything else you guys need let me know.
Re: Gaming Bargains V2 (1 year ago)
Im pretty sure people have mentioned about the new Humble Bundle here recently but I just noticed that they've done a bit of an overhaul with it for more awesomeness.

They just recently added a new game called Steel Storm to the initial group and if you spend or have spent over the average amount (currently $5.01US) you will get the complete Humble Bundle 2 pack, which contains Braid, Machinarium, Osmos, Revenge of the Titans and Cortex Commander.

If you have already purchased the Humble Bundle 3 for over the average $ then reclick your email download link and the Humble Bundle 2 will be available to download from there too.
Re: Gaming Bargains V2 (1 year ago)
Thats because its all just done automatically through the registers for the right discounts for the items. I mean, it would be a little hard to reprice every single item in the store that is going to be discounted for only a few hours.

Or I think Emilbus was saying that during the time between the store closing the sale starting we would mark up all the items so the discount would just make it back to original price again, which we don't.
Re: OS X Lion Out Now (1 year ago)
Just redeemed my code to get a free copy since I just purchased a Macbook last week. Almost finished downloading icon_biggrin.gif
Wow, looks pretty cool. I'll admit I was a little disappointed that the Australian version of AA ended up getting a little bit ripped off compared to the American edition, like having an actual cover slip for the game case, getting rid of the leather binding for the journal etc. Hopefully its a bit better this time.
Re: Gaming Bargains V2 (1 year ago)
Awesome thanks Chopbusted. Used that got and got it myself for the $28.80. Very awesome right now with the strong Aus dollar.
Yeah, im pretty sure the movie was the first time that organic webshooters were first introduced with Spiderman (someone will probably correct me on that).
Its because they will be releasing a retail version of Tetris 3DS in October
Re: Gaming Bargains V2 (1 year ago)
If you have someone from overseas can buy and gift it to you, or there is some way of changing your purchasing location to the UK and it still working.
Double check your Junk mail folder, i just got another one that ended up in my junk mail. This time its a survey for another 50 stars about the 3DS. The emails are coming in from your-opinion@nintendo.com.au
Yeah I did thought it was a little strange but always happy for a few extra stars. Might be some more marketing stuff to see if its a viable option to release other titles like that to the 3DS. Who knows.
Ok then, since a few people have asked i'll put up some photos of the Hero edition and its contents. I feel that the bag is excellent quality, SuckerPunch haven't screwed people over by giving them only a really tiny bag or anything, it does seem to be "lifesize" to the one Cole has in the game. Its a great size having access to two different pockets which each are the size of the entire bag. Ill probably end up using this as my normal bag. I really liked the Hero edition and as a massive Infamous fan it was definitely worth it.

So this is everything you get in the Hero edition:
The Bag
Special edition copy of the game (with a very awesome lenticular cover which switches between good and bad cole)
Figurine
Comic book
and Three different codes (one for the special edition contents, one for the hero edition contents and one give you 50% off the original infamous if you purchase it through the PSN)

This is just a photo of me showing the bags size, in comparison im about 170cm-ish

Just some close up images of the figurine, its very awesome, a lot of detail and goes nicely with all my other gaming gear.
So I was in at my work this morning and picked up my Hero edition of the game - very awesome. Have just spend many hours playing it. Its a very fun game. Plays very similar to the first game, which is not a bad thing.

Tiny things have been tweaked here and there which I really enjoy, such as the ability to switch back to older powers even after you've upgraded. Its a very polished game and its definitely on par with the original game.
Im getting error 007-2500 with the store. Browser seems alright but like others probably not sure how much id use it.
Re: Resistance 3 (1 year ago)
They're not bad. I've always enjoyed them but Im a bit of a sucker for Insomniac Games. They are very much a bit of a simple shooter but add in all the crazy ass weapons from ratchet and clank. Thats were I had a tonne of fun with this game. Resistance 2 was a massive improvement to 1 so i'd say probably worth at least checking that one out but since they are platinum these days they are probably easy to pick up cheap somewhere.
Re: Resistance 3 (1 year ago)
So they have just announced today the editions that will be released for Resistance 3. There will be 3 different editions available. The standard, special and survivor editions. From the Playstation EU Blog. There is also a tonne details of the pre-order bonuses they have on the site too.

Quote
Standard Edition:

Special Edition:
Next up we have the Resistance 3 Special Edition. This version of the game comes in a stunning steelbook case – packed with a voucher code for all of the pre-order items listed above.

Not only will this look awesome on your shelf, (the array of logos are on a perspex o-ring which you can remove) but this version will also come complete with a very cool ‘vinyl effect’ blu-ray disc (complete with the ribbed vinyl effect on the surface).

Survivor Edition:

Now last, but by no means least, we have the Resistance 3 Survivor Edition! This uber-bundle comes complete with the following content (as well as the Special Edition pack listed above):

Canvas satchel
Capelli’s rugged and reliable satchel, ideal for long journeys across the ravaged American landscape.

Chimera firing range target
Know your enemy; perfect your aim or take out your frustrations on this life-size Chimera target poster.

“Fight for Freedom” toy soldiers
Play out the battle on a small scale with these toy soldiers depicting Joseph Capelli and Chimera fighters.

Joseph Capelli’s Journal
Read Capelli’s notes on the journey ahead of him, the enemies he’ll face and the weapons he’ll use – and start writing your own story as you fight the Chimera.

SRPA hip flask
Keep the cold at bay or give yourself the courage to fight on with this standard issue SRPA soldier’s hip flask.

SRPA playing cards
Pass the time between battles with this deck of SRPA soldier’s playing cards.

Here’s a visual for you to check out.

We’ll update with new images of the Survivor Edition (and its content) in due course – my personal favorite are the scarily cute Chimera toy soldiers – in the mean time though, hit me up in the comments below if you have any questions.

Resistance 3 will be coming exclusively to PS3 on 7th/9th September.
The survivor edition looks pretty awesome. I know that they will definitely be available in Australia through at least JB. Not sure if it is an exclusive or not.
