I used to come here most days (removed RSS feed a month or so back), now I drop by once a week with hope to see if the pheonix can rise from the flames.
^ How can you view the comments as childish. Criticism is warranted. I thought themashedavenger's 1st comment was hilarious.

This is a crap update & not worthy of reporting. Ninty are making a push for serious online marketing and this just makes people cringe. And Balloon Kid was a mediocre game even in it's day, to release this is beyond a joke given the HUGE backlog of top quality titles Nintendo have at their disposal.
Ninty have a steep learning curve ahead if they want the the up-coming Nintendo Network for Wii U & 3DS to compete head to head against PSN & Live because this utter TRASH & RUBBISH, seriously Balloon Kid WTF???
2011 was a wicked year in gaming, so many top tier titles. 2012 has a lot to live up to, and with the titles scheduled for release this year it's looking like another big one.
Great to see a lot of quality RPG's arriving on current gen hardware at last, the biggest problem is time or lack there of to play them !!
"It might not deal with terrorists or modern combat" and thank f#$k for that, I play games to escape not be constantly reminded what a screwed & sorry state the human race finds itself in todays 'real' world.

Looking forward to opening this pressie on xmas day, hopefully the freezing glitch you mentioned in the review is patched by then!! Now back to Skyrim...
I seriously cringe every week when I see these meagre store offerings from Ninty. Not doing themselves any favours when the the DD side of their business is barely lacklustre compared to the competition.
Ditch that Commonwealth Bank Pop up garbage Palgn or I for one will stop visiting this site
Interesting but that cheesy music stopped me watching 2/3rds through
^ Way to Easy? WTF have you even tried turning the difficulty slider up to Insane?

Gears 3 is the most fun I've had in a long time, played it straight after finishing Resistance 3 which was also damn fine but haven't touched that since. Have been too busy with all the various Multiplayer Gears games.

Epic nailed it with this game a 9.5 out of 10. On pure fun and replay value alone, Graphically it's great but hey the 360 is getting towards the end of its cycle so we have much higher standards now than we did when the Original was released. Sound is top notch too. Story is excellent and all ties up nicely. At the end of the day if your playing a shooter for story, you've come to the wrong place, you'd be best heading to the library or the Art House movie theatre.

I for one will look back in 5 years and remember GoW3 as one of the 360's biggest highlights along with Alan Wake, ME etc.
Still waiting for that killer 3DS title that'll convince me to get one. Once I do, Maria Kart is one of the games I'll be picking up.
Did they change the controls or are they still as annnoying as the ever?
^ Maybe we'll see a HD remake packaged with MGS Portable Ops, or perhaps theres a Twins Snakes remake in the works and there holding off for the Wii U as MGS TS was a GC exclusive and is far more suited to an HD remake than the Psone original.

The MSX remakes are a welcome inclusion as I never got round finishing MG2 on Subsistence.
Just bought a Kinect tonight and had a quick blast with Kinect Adventures during half time in the League , seemed frekin cool so will be good to see some good quality titles using its capabilities, hopefully this will be one of them

^ Agreed. Really much too early with too little info to pass judgement one way or the other, as we see & read more over the coming months a clearer picture of which direction the series is being taken will emerge...
Great Review, Yeah Insomniac nailed it with the third instalment, enjoyed the first two games but the latest is an absolute gem. Highly recommended to all icon_smile.gif

Heres to hoping there's more to come...
Re: NHL 12 Review (1 year ago)
You lost me at the 2nd paragraghs rant, what were you last picked for the Aussie Rules team at school? still hurtin'?

As a Kiwi living in here its actually quite clear Aussies are infact very multi-coded with their winter sport support, AFL, NRL, Super Rugby and Football(Soccer) all feature strong support here, Unlike NZ's one-eyed Rugby fascination.
Everyone seems to have forgotten Japan has very recently been hit by a massive natural disaster, maybe just maybe that could be having an impact on some games currently in development.
Hey haters, it's simple don't want or like modern FF, don't buy it. Instead of neging out on forums go n play some FF on your NES

It obvious now something has gone awry with Versus, but its great the the FF XIII universe is being expanded upon with 2 and the possibility of a 3rd is also welcomed.
What strange reactions from some members of the PALGN community, how could this be a bad thing, console gamers getting the chance to play the 1st Crysis?

Chip on the shoulder comments from the PC Super-Race Gamer Elitists are nothing new though I suppose icon_wink.gif
I expected Meh, but what I saw was totally FREAKIN' AWESOME !!
Some-things should be left as a single player experience.

Unless this can be implemented in a unique uber cool RPG way like the online component of Demons Souls I fear we will end up with a try hard Gears wannabe and all that will result is a lessor RPG experience than ME3 should be.

Still really looking forward to ME3 icon_smile.gif

Burnout Micro Missions
Awesome, thanks for such an informative and insightful interview, great to read and learn of the successes of local game developers.

Hopefully this will keep the dream alive for any younger readers with ambitions for a future in the industry, who may have become discouraged of late with all the press surrounding layoffs and shut downs at big name developers.

Great to see gaming going back to it's roots in a way, harping back to the old (8, 16 and 32 Bit)days of small teams putting together titles that are simply FUN & ADDICTIVE to play, without needing multi-million dollar investments!!
Day 1 purchase and I won't mind paying retail in order to avoid the wait of postage
Whats with dising Doom 3, loved it on original Xbox.
This looks great too.

It's like the Regurgitator song -

I see your band now and it's not too bad
you're nothing like you used to be
please write some songs that really do not suck
please become what you were before

i like your old stuff better than your new stuff (x4)

i try hard not to bring up the past
i'm sorry i had to again
you don't know me i feel you are my friend
i'm trying not to be pretend

i like your old stuff better than your new stuff (x12)

Sounds good, my fears of this going down the path of Mr Fisher have been somewhat abated. Lets hope this demo is just a small sample of all the good things about the Hitman series being built on.
