Quick Battle is a more endearing mode. This mode has you battling against the avatars and characters that have been created by players from all around the world, and even tries to identify their playing style and mould it to the AI. They're all ranked by ability and you work your way up to earn titles, character customising trinkets and even new characters.
All fights outside of Training mode rank you up, you don't have to spend hours in a single player mode to get the pretties icon_smile.gif
That was canning MA15+, not M.

And I don't know how on earth the OFLC came to that decision - the baddies go 'poof' in a puff of smoke. No more violent than the Wii sports resort sword game.

You can start by comparing sales of it to Ocarina of time, which managed over 7 million on the N64 and 3 million so far on the 3DS.
Sure, when Skyward Sword has been released for 13 years as opposed to 3 months.

As for users on metacritic? Let's see what quality those views are. Cock-A-Saurus helpfully gave it a 0, but in his review says "In the end, I don't think this game is awful, but its not great, let alone the "best Zelda ever" as so many idiots have noted."

Totally balanced there. Let's not forget the 88 critic vs 3.2 user MW3.

Do you remember all the hand holding in the original Zelda? You know the one that pretty much invented the action adventure genre?
Now are you trying to say the NES and the Wii demographics are identical?

What, like a kindergarten student? I can't think of any other part of society where basic information is repeated ad nauseum in such a fashion. And sometimes, with the same colourful presentation.
Holy shit that's my point - it's a kid's game.

I like to think my greivences were a little bit more indepth then "This game isn't made for me" and more a long the lines of "This game is rubbish"
As that may be, it's subjective, and the only way to get anything resembling an objective point of view is to look at a game's overall reception which, in this case, is far from rubbish :)

My point was that a lot of people playing the 64 would have been just as unfamiliar with video games. But that didn't make them treat their consumers like idiots.
It's not the same comparison between generations. It was established gamers generally buying the N64, as the PS1 was by far the most popular machine.

It isn't making the game easier, it's treating you like you're a moron that can't remember what was said 60 seconds ago.
Or like someone who's never played an action adventure game before. For each of us going 'stfu you squeaky hag' there may very well be someone thinking 'that's helpful'.

I would just like to see people separate 'I don't like it' and 'it's a bad thing'. Which, I know, is a pipe dream.

I loved both Princess and the Frog and Tangled. Those movies are a show of how you can make a movie aimed at one specific demographic that's actually enjoyable for people of all ages and genders that go to see it. Hell my mum loved Tangled and she's in her 50's.
And people of all ages enjoy Skyward Sword. If you didn't enjoy Princess and the Frog would you complain it wasn't made specifically for you? I mean you might do so, but you'd look like a bit creepy ;)

The old Zelda games made when the chief demographic of gaming was 10 year olds treat their audience as being smarter then the zelda game that comes out when most people playing games are in their 30's. Does that make any sense to you?
Yeah, how many of those players make up the over 90 million Wii owners? Worldwide sales of OoT were under 8 mil for the generation.

The game isn't any easier than OoT, you're just told where to go next without pushing C-Up to listen to Navi. There's no Super Kong or Cosmic Guide. It's annoying, I would like to be able to turn it off, but it's in no way ez-mode.

Furthermore, it shows that had the Wii been originally been released with Motion-Plus capabilities, the entire generation of game development could have taken a whole different course, over dodgy mini-game and waggle fests
Somehow I don't think that's the case :P

For better or worse this iteration is for the Wii market - and what we don't like to acknowledge is that there are so many new gamers that, guys, it may be time for you to graduate to games aimed at grownups.

I mean seriously, it's like complaining a Disney princess film doesn't meet your hardcore expectations, you grumpy buggers.

Nevertheless, those interested in games with great stories should check it out. You won’t be overly disappointed.
"I recommend you check it out, you'll only be disappointed a little bit"? icon_razz.gif
I had that happen. Went in and out and back in a house after it was bugged so lost my autosaves. I didn't bother doing exactly what I did in my lost save just went off in a different direction for a while.
What does a brother have to do to pacify a bitch?
I was on a quest to kill a dragon. When I got there, there was two flying around, and while I killed the first, the other one started a fight with some giants.

Giants are scary icon_sad.gif They two-shot me and launch my corpse 100m in the air.
Re: Dark Souls Review (1 year ago)
I'm gonna be skipping this one. With only an hour of game time a day I don't think I'd have too much fun.
Reviews for this one have been all over the place, and the main complaint is that the DFM is unrealistic and takes out flying skill. In a game where you can carry, what, 50-100 missiles on a single plane. Yeah.

This is about the only one that didn't make it a Horrible Issue and devote 3/4 of the review to it, so you deserve a prize.
I like that it's story-based co-op, as opposed to crappy laggy stupid deathmatch which nobody plays after a month, they're wasting their money on. Stupid Bioshock 2.
Le Sigh. It's not like they make all previous iterations unplayable on release, dude icon_razz.gif
Technically it already has two icon_smile.gif

By this time in the DS's life we had Kirby Canvas Curse, Advanced Wars, Meteos, and Castlevania Dawn of Sorrows.
Advanced Wars was great but not original, Kirby was tech demo material, Meteos has one game mechanic and you can win just by scribbling on your screen, which leaves Castlevania icon_smile.gif
Jesus kids. How many console launches have you lived through? There's been about sixteen in the last 20 years or so, why do you keep getting surprised games take a little longer?

do they think people will switch systems for sum misc dlc 30 days early? and anouncing dlc before the game is out is lame...
Probably more along the lines of ensuring those who have both consoles pick the 360 version.

Not bad, but don't wanna have to pay extra for a new Wiimote at the end the console's lifecycle.
WiiU will be using the same remote, I thought.

For example, the new Archenemy mode only allows players to fight an Archenemy character, never play as one. Though this is reasonable from the perspective of building a campaign around Archenemy battles, it doesn't make sense to restrict skirmish or online battles in the same way, forcing three online players to always fight an AI controlled Archenemy.
This is changing in recently-announced DLC. Yay!
The subtitle should have been Epic puts it into third Gear. or something.
Y'know, if it's a choice between balanced decks available to everyone and one uber netdeck that everyone will use, what sounds more reasonable?
Put them separate to the others? icon_razz.gif
Import from the US for $143 AU icon_smile.gif
Heh I remember the first one -it had wtf controls and you could drive faster than the terrain would appear but otherwise was pretty sweet.

I think Sony are licking their lips right now as far as handhelds go. Vita looks amazing.
You really think the post-launch library will be any better? Honestly? icon_razz.gif
It'd be alright if we paid USD for points, instead of double.
It's not a case of one or the other, though.
Uh... automatically changing every MA15+ game into a R18+ game? Are they gonna do it for movies too? What the f*** is this?
Oh great, now you've said that I'll imagine it too!
