Even though Yakuza: Dead Souls isn't Yakuza 5, I think I will playing it non-stop from release. icon_lol.gif
I've got mine coming from ozgameshop too, hopefully I can find some time for it as I already have a lot to play.

I've been playing a bit of Yakuza 4. Think I'm pretty close to the end of the first character's story arc. So far I'm loving it, even more so than the 3rd game. There's just so much to do and somehow the game manages to make all the weirdly hilarious stuff (like the revelations and some of the substories) feel like it's not out of place with the actual seriousness of the rest of the stuff.

Initially I was a little disappointed with Akiyama's moveset as most of the Heat moves had been recycled, but now he's got his own brutal moves, it's all good.

Should probably be further along in the story, but have been too busy gambling, bowling, poking hostesses, playing pachinko, searching for locker keys and a whole heap of other stuff. It's a pretty sweet game. Just sorry it took me this long to fire it up.
I was so happy they brought across pretty much all of the Japanese content this time. Yakuza 3 was great, but it felt a bit stripped down.

I spent so much time catching Tuna, playing golf, singing karaoke, dating hostesses etc. icon_lol.gif

Has anyone made it level 50 on the arcade game? I always make it to the high 40s and then run out of time.

Zzz. 12 hours in, and I find it pretty boring. Don't like the characters. Don't like the side-quest setups. Don't like the new-found freedom because character conversations are really sloppy. Don't like the Mog clock. Don't like not being able to upgrade weapons. The story is confusing and over ambitious. Maybe it gets better, but at the moment I'm not sure if I want to spend 90+ hours on this playthrough like I did on XIII.
I beat the game in 28 hours and that's not all story content.

I didn't really get into the game until like midway Chapter 3, the story and characters only get better from there.
Re: BlazBlue (1 year ago)
I'll go do some challenges, so next time I'll give him a try.

I can't even comprehend Arakune vs. Arakune haha.

Good to see you playing again Andy. We need more character variety icon_wink.gif
I'm pretty tempted to give Arakune a try. icon_razz.gif
I only bought GG after playing Blazblue, and since I don't have a PS2 compatible arcade stick nor anyone to competitive play against I haven't really touched it.

I've been anticipating this since ASW obtained the rights again.

Great news!
Re: BlazBlue (1 year ago)
I'm getting trolled. icon_razz.gif
I'm usually on between 6-11pm weeknights (WA time)

I can move around and poke okay, but my combos are pretty terrible.

Even level 3 latency is really average, I'm used to playing blazblue with virtually no lag though.
I guess you could always buy the game itself dirt cheap eventually.

I really need to play more Persona 4 and start Radiant Historia, I should just take a month off work. icon_razz.gif
Crispix's FFXIII-2 cover art is scaled larger compared to the one I got in the Crystal Edition. Odd.

Those hardcover guides are really nice, I nearly bought one purely for aesthetics ha.

Disgaea 4 premium edition is pretty damn cheap considering what you get - http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/game/ps3/disgaea-4-a-promise-forgotten-premium-edition/658881
I was hoping for a price drop. icon_biggrin.gif
Re: FFXIII-2 (1 year ago)
I really want to see the other endings as well, so I'll probably go for the Platinum.

It's a pity my backlog is already screaming at me. icon_razz.gif
I think I missed you by 20 mins.

Friend matches are the way to go. icon_wink.gif
Re: FFXIII-2 (1 year ago)
Finally got around to fighting Caius again and it took me 26 mins to finish off his last form lol. I was playing it quite safe though.

The ending was ****ing amazing and I don't necessarily even want there to be a FFXIII-3. (I'm a bit of a sucker for this type of ending though)

I think Square-Enix would need to pull off something really special to warrant another sequel, but I'm definitely looking forward to their next FF release either way.

...and how did I not pickup that Laura Bailey voices Serah. icon_eek.gif

I'm jelly Stone. I want that BB art book soo bad. Probably will purchase it soon. Everything you purchase is pretty much what I would want.
I think HobbyLinkJapan actually have it cheaper, it's on backorder though.

That sounds about the level I am (play for slightly competitive fun, but don't get into it on a technical level), except I'm having trouble with the timing of combos in this game and haven't even touched half the roster yet, so you're probably a couple of steps ahead icon_razz.gif

Might be up for some matches tonight, if anyone is interested.
I should be online.

I can do like half the missions for my mains so far, but I turn to **** when put against a real opponent.

Should be fun anyway. icon_lol.gif

Yeah, I noticed the countdown.

Tortoise was definitely my next strategy.

Might have a crack at some online matches a bit later, but pretty sure I won't bother much with this once Blazblue gets here in a couple of weeks.
I'm up for some matches, I'm not really any good and I'm sure I'll forget all my combos/moves once I get in a versus match. icon_smile.gif
Are you on now? Can one find ye in the lobby?
Not on PSN now, but feel free to add me. I'm 'Stoneroth'.

Are you any good? If so, don't expect anything.

Teraflare... :S
Is that the one with three of them? I was like
"No biggie! Get ready to heal my chocobo! 5000 DAMAGE WHAT!?!?!?"

That's if you're talking about who I think you're talking about.
I've only had 2 of them do Teraflare but it's still instant kill lol.

I'm guessing SEN/SEN/SEN, stop them from using Teraflare, or grind. icon_razz.gif

Re: FFXIII-2 (1 year ago)
If you liked XIII, I'd definitely say it's worth a buy.

You may not like it as much as admeister but it's a solid, fun sequel. icon_wink.gif

Enjoy Rayman and Catherine too, amazing games.

Managed to catch the Flanitor last night... Someone mentioned earlier in this thread they were having issues but it only took me about 20 minutes of actually trying. I've heard it's the 2nd best medic in the game behind the Green Chocobo so I'm happy to have it available at a relatively early stage in the game.
That was me.

Managed to tame one last night too. icon_smile.gif

I was running around Augusta Tower 300AF for quite a while with no luck. Killed off several with Feral Link abilities too.

Was casually going through 200AF and managed to get one without trying.

My 'slug' healer is still better atm though.

Re: FFXIII-2 (1 year ago)
I keep liking this game more and more.

Chapter 3 really picks up and has some great locations and memorable characters.

Not far into chapter 4 but I'm really enjoying it too.

Some negatives to be fair:

- The casino with no games/attractions (?)

- I can't tame a Flanitor for the life of me icon_razz.gif
