Can you not tweak the controller options to make it less sensitive?
Nope, traded it in today for a measly $35. Hate the game. Its rediculous, you can land anything theres no challenge. The controls are off, its way too sensitive on PS3 (360 demo was way better) and its just to (stupid tricks) oriented for me.

Bring back 1080 and 1080 Avalanche, or a snowbaording game like SKATE was to skaeboarding games.

SSX is snowboarding for kooks, it has NO style and no flow and no soul.
Got the PS3 version (friends list) and I can tell you all, if you have the choice, GO THE 360 version.

The controls on the PS3 SUCK. BIG TIME. Way too sensitive and makes it completely frustrating.

This day and age, IM BOILING. ITS THAT BAD. BOYCOTT.
Skyward Sword, all hearts, Hyrulian Shield. 68 HOURS!

Great game. Still hate motion controls but they work here, for the most part.
Awesome, hope this comes out at a decent price in big W or whatever. Looks like finally my snowboarding dreams come true this gen. Wehooooww!
Re: FFXIII-2 (1 year ago)

Re: Wii U stuff (1 year ago)
Super Wii is such an awesome name. I hope it sticks. Either that or just Nintendo. So you got Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo Wii and the Nintendo. I dunno, back to hiatus, returning to you all Wii UI launch if I can maintain discipline.
Why I love Nintendo:

Dear Club Nintendo Member,

As you may have noticed, 1 of the posters in the Legend of Zelda 25th Anniversary Poster Set that we sent to you contained a minor flaw. On the Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword poster, there is a design flaw on the outline of the loft wing, to the right of the sword. We apologize for the mistake and We will be sending a replacement poster within the next 2 weeks. You do not need to return the first poster back to us.

Again, we apologize for this error and we hope that you enjoy your new poster.
Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact Nintendo Customer Service on:1300 362 746 (for Australian customers) and 0800 743 056 (for New Zealand customers) Monday to Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm (Australian Eastern Standard Time)

Thanks again for your membership and loyalty.

Sincerely,
Club Nintendo

I am still only halfway through playing enough of the games of 2011 to have an honest, complete list. I picked up Batman, SR3, Dead Island and Driver SF in the Steam sale and I can safely say that Saints Row 3 is probably the most fun game I played all year securing it in my top 5 and Dead Island RULES.

What a year. Seriously.
Re: Gaming Bargains V2 (1 year ago)
Just got back from game got RE Mercenaries, Tetris and Steel Diver all for $28 each new/aus versions. Yiew.
1. Dark Souls : The defining game of this entire generation of consoles. Pushing boundaries, eliminating hand holding and replacing it with pure adventure and exploration, actual challenge, reward, risk, fear, darkness and just mindblowing and I am still near the end (80 hours now, will play again). Towering, unforgettable. This gives me hope that gaming can actually evolve past the current deadlock its in.

-= MASSIVE GAP =-

2. Super Mario 3D Land: The perfect handheld 3D platformer. Cant spot picking it up every day before and after work, and, platforming magic.

3. Zelda: Skyward Sword: The tradition continues. Motion control issues aside, I love it. Waaaay too much handholding though Nintendo, at least give us the option to turn it off.

4. Xenoblade: JRPGs return with vengeance! Beautiful.

5. Kirbys Adventure - finally found THE game to play with my girlfriend (non gamer). She loves it, its GREAT fun and just really awesome.

Dissapointing:

Battlefield 3: maybe I expected more? Too much noise. Too macho.

Uncharted 3: The story wasn't that gripping, I never really felt excited, the gunplay was off (apparently fixed now) and it just had too many of the same things that we already done in 2. Bring back the awesome level design of the first I say, too much fly here, do this, repeat. Predictable but good, just not great.

Skyrim: All that content is great, I however find the gameplay monotonous and the world too repetitive. Just didn't do it for me gameplay wise, neither did Oblivion. Just not for me maybe.

Gears of War III: another predictable sequel done well but I think I have had enough sequels.

See you guys around Wii U!

* Havent played Batman but Im retiring for a while so wont till Wii U time. Peace!
Awesome awesome awesome. I know rhe controls are good but damn RSI really spoiling it for me (right wrist). Got it 4pm yesterday which was nice. After this, Im taking hiatus from gaming (to surf all year and months in indonesia) till Wii U. Damn wish had classic controller mode I really, really hate motion control. Love the game though and will suffer it once more (rsi). See you all at Wii U. Laters, enjoy!
WOW. Awesome. Cute. Little handheld 3D Mario in my hands.

Wish it was on a huge screen with a huge controller but hey, cute.
Biggest Wish: Nintendo Wii U has a great standard controller, loses focus on the motion control and does 1080p @ 60FPS and comes with a new NINTENDO IP.

Dissapointments: Nintendo design choices (hardware)

My biggest complaint would be the addition of motion controls. Especially Nintendos focus (for a while there) on the controller over the console. Looking back at the Wii lineup I would say every single game I liked would have played better with a controller.

Mario Galaxy
Zelda
Metroid
New Super Mario
Xenoblade (which did)
Goldeneye (which did, thank god)
Kirby
DK

I would have been happy as larry to play all of these, and Skyward Sword, on a classic controller Pro. I also wish Nintendo went HD, I know they did great with the Wii and it sold very well and all but the transition from Gamecube to Wii has been less than stellar for me, the games are still there and still the best there is IMHO, but the focus on the new controller needs to die, or be there for casual games. I hope the Wii U can use too Wii U tablets and classic controller PRO for 4 x player gameplay.

I also really hate the tiny size of the DPAD on the DS, ESPECIALLY the DSiXL (Which should have increased the size of the thing) it has rendered most of my 50+ game collection unplayable due to my hands size.

The 3DS is also too small for me, a personal complaint, but one I think is not out of bounds for NIntendo to adress in the XL iterations of their handhelds.

BIGGEST SURPRISE:

Dark Souls / Demons Souls: Bringing back GAMING to the action/adventure/rpg genre. Challenge, reward, implied story. None of the bull**** cutscenes, lengthy talky stories that suck in 95% of games, no handholding good old fashion EXPLORATION/GAMEPLAY/ADVENTURE/REWARD. And for innovating, with the online, to something new and fresh and refreshing. KUDOS FROM SOFTWARE!
Mario 3DS toda has lightened the load for the week.

Booked Friday off so, dont really care too much if it launches early, which I dont reckon it will (due to EB having the LE exclusively). But, this day and age who knows?

Long weekend of heaven, can't wait to touch the LE box and open it, smelling that fine new game smell maybe for the last generation? Gold wii motion plus, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh.

Nintendo, rules.
So they call back 30 mins later, you can buy it now, I am at work and my poor girlfriend walked all the way back to the store and missed the bus home and now has to walk about 10km.

Should have just waited, I feel bad now.

No Tanooki Hat till the 8th, whatevs, unhappy girlfriend, kinda cute but not cool, Mario 3D land when I get home, priceless.
So I send my GIRLFRIEND with my mario land receipt, id and everything to EB this morning. After receiving my text last night.

NO TANOOKI HATS TILL THE 8th DECEMBER

THEY SAID GAME ISNT OUT TILL THURSDAY. WONT SELL/NOT IN.

SO, I call, yep, they insisted the text was automated and its not for sale till THURDSAY. WHAT. THE. DUCK.

SO ANGRY.
Re: Dark Souls (1 year ago)
Hey guys Im kinda lost as to what to do next advice would be appreciated (spoiler free as possible).

I just defeated the boss of Anor Londo, I am level 58 and 62 hours in. I met the lady lying down (Gwyndelline?) and joined her cult and got the Ygdrassil? Transporter.

Now, things I havent done that I have noticed (Two Beasts at bottom of Sens Fortress, Zombie Dragon, FLame Area Boss beyond Blight town, Hydra in Ash Lake, Dragon on the Bridge in starting area, Hydra in forest area, Forest area Wolves and boss beyond the bridge/door, Crazy Gold Plated armored beast in the newly opened door in anor londo). I also havent ventured much further in the ghost ruins area than obtaining the curse ring.

I have not actually been past the area with the Skeletons come to think of it, either. Maybe Ill head there tonight.

What should I be doing next? Strength Build with 16 VIT, 32 Stamina, 45 Strength {going for 50}, other stats at base levels, Golem Axe + 5)

This is the first time I have used any help, very proud so far. By the way, this is the best game of the whole generation. I was mildly distracted by sonic, skyrim, uncharted. This game for me is where its at. Love.
Im actually getting this.
$58.84 at Big W
What an amazing game, cant wait to get my teeth out (4 removed just before xmas) so I can spend the entire recovery time in my couch with no other reponsibilities to play this.

Dark Souls, This, Zelda, Xenoblade. WHat a year for the adventure/RPG genre.
LOL you cant even play it (PC) anyway till midnight. Requires steam activation (says not out yet) so cant even install.

Ahhhh games these days, I remember the day when you owned the game on the disc, ran the executable and off you went.......... sigh. RUSHED in after work too.

LOVELY CE though, quality, full color, beautiful book quality paper and map and WOW its SUPER AWESOME. Great after the lame UC3 ones.
Hey Nintendo, AKA Publisher of the year.

Thank you, again and again, for all the amazing output this year. The gaming world would be a bleak dark place infested with guns, darkness and teenagers if it wasn't for your brilliance.

Off to buy this.
Good Game has its place, being the gamer I am and I know you all are thats shows not really targeted at us. My GF loves it cause shes got a crush on Bajo.

SR3: I look forward to a time when the whole population is evolved and mature enough to monitor minors but also treat adults as adults, and, make their own decisions on content without trying to block it from others (something religion has instigated, and I despise, faith is fine but censoring other adults is not).

See I think being able to kill children would be hilarious, no I am not evil and yes theres kids in my family. I just have black humor. Im the one who laughs in the cinema when (guy hits propeller in titanic, or, way too serious movie about school massacres hits the climax) and sometimes people think I am evil. I am not, but to have somebody else score down a review (say, antichrist or saints row 3) because of their religion (unless were in the same boat, Im not religious tho) or what they think is appropriate or not. Storytelling mechanics, game mechanics, presentation, graphics, immersion and depth are all scoreable but what you actually do is purely objective. My 2cents.
9.5/10 REVIEW OMG OMG OMFG OMG ZOMG AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!

I AM SO HYPED IM GONNA FLIP.

WOW. Zelda and this same day? My life is so awesome right now.

Who else is pretty much having the day of their life on the 24th?

LE Zelda and Exclusive Edition Mario at EB, Ill pay em whatever they want! Ill be camping outside there door at 7am.

OMG

Oh yeah the review......... http://au.ds.ign.com/articles/121/1211974p1.html

LEGITIMISES the 3D. WORD.
Yeah, nope. Spewin.
^^ Whaaaa? Saw nothing about the Skyhawk beta myself anywhere on the packaging.
WOW.

Wish I waited till now.
SO, BOUGHT FROM GREENMANGAMING.

As well as a PS3 copy. SHEESH.
I also put some time in this on hard. Its a great single player game it just hasn't cracked the barrier for the this year that other titles (dark souls/xenoblade/portal 2) have. Its not in running for GOTY for me, as it stands though its a quality piece of entertainment. More like an interactive movie than ever before, which is a good thing and a bad thing. Still, great, not mindblowing.
Xbox controller for windows, wired.

Im getting this on PC now, so have a spare PS3 copy lenticular not used. DOH!
