My issue is a certain group of people that come to australia for a better life yet cause misery, trouble and put fear into people.

On thursday night/ friday morning i was taking my usual late night walk and some guy turned the corner and dropped something.. i picked it up and called out to him..
Noticed he had facial injuries/bloodied up. He looked a rough nut aswell. Asked him if he was ok and he said a group of 30 (wont mention race as i will be accused of racism) people had beating him up at the local train station.
And you know for a fact that was the true story? Somehow I don't think a person who was the victim of a bashing tries anything (Including walking away) possible not to have the police involved.
Did you ever think he may have been the instigator and the other person was the one defending themselves against him?

When I see trouble when I'm out and about 9 times out of 10 it's an Aussie starting it and participating in it. I don't see many asains/indians or europeans doing it.

Anyways I will let you go as you probably have a clan meeting to attend
I hate it when I am waiting for a package and these 2 things happen:

-After waiting a few hours I go outside to see a red AusPost card in the screen door (My local delivery guy is like a ninja...seems to wait until I get in the shower to turn up)

-Doesn't turn up when it's meant to.

These are truly 2 things that make me quite depressed icon_razz.gif
Re: eBay/Paypal warning! (2 years ago)
Thanks for all the suggestions everyone.
Just to clarify everything that I said in my original post was 100% truthful, I never listed anything that could even be seen as illegal or in breach of trademark rights. Of course there were a few times I was a few days late in paying for some items due to work etc but nothing more major that that.

I thought about contacting some government bodies but I am very wary of what it would achieve if anything. Let's be honest, I have absolutely no chance of fighting a company like ebay and while them banning my account and removing my listings without reason p!ssed me off it's not even close to how annoyed I am about them being able to play with my financial affairs (paypal)

To be honest I don't even want another eBay account because it's quite evident in this case that they biggest threat came from eBay themselves and not other members/scammers. I also have to ask myself if it is worth lodging complaints and wasting my time and breath for a null outcome.

Thanks again for all the kind words everyone and my intention wasn't to get you to stop using the site, just to be very vigilant when dealing with them
eBay/Paypal warning! (2 years ago)
Hey guys. I thought I would share my recent experiences with eBay and Paypal (The companies, not the sellers/members)

I went to check my eBay account about an hour ago and was shocked to see my account had been banned icon_confused.gif I have had this account for about a year and before this time used my friends account to make purchases. Over that 1 year period I spent over $20,000 on goods and also paid seller fees in excess of $2000. I had a over 200 feeback and only one of them was negative (buyer broke a laptop lcd on installation and wanted a refund icon_rolleyes.gif)

The problems started arising late last year after I complained about an overcharge on my fees as well as a credit not going through properly which I hounded them about for a week straight both by phone and email. When I told them I would be lodging a complaint with fair trading things started to turn really ugly.
Suddenly my listings would start being removed for the most ridiculous reasons.

-I listed a 40 year old Sabatier chef's knife and was promptly removed and classed as a "Prohibited weapon". and things of that nature, I emailed them/phoned them and was told they weren't sure why that has happened. I put it down to a one off until I was 100% sure they were doing something quite unsavory which is shown below.

I recently came back from overseas and bought 15 pairs of genuine nike shoes which I posted to myself via mail. After going through them once they arrived I decided I didn't really like 4 pairs of them and decided to list them on eBay.
Listed the first pair which were removed within 24 hours because ebay apparently received a complaint from nike about them being counterfeit, I had kept both my original receipt from footlocker which was itemized as well as my credit card receipt and when I offered to show proof of authenticity I was told to email scans of them to eBays trust and safety team which I did. I was also warned for this incident.

I then listed the same shoes for sale about 3 weeks later and the same happened again, this time when I offered to show them proof they changed their story and said nike were the ones who complained due to me being an "unauthorized nike dealer"icon_lol.gif and was told I would need written permission from nike to sell any nike products again on ebay.

I contacted nike and spoke to an employee who said selling nike items is fine as long as I am not selling massive amounts of new nike clothing and they were nice enough to send me a written letter to that effect with a proper letterhead/ contact numbers etc.

This is where is started to become very obvious there was something really not right. I ended up sitting on the phone for an hour with an ebay staff member trying to find out the best way of supplying this letter to allow me to sell my shoes unmolested. She was rude, unhelpful and arrogant and I asked her to provide me both her name and department and a number to contact someone higher up to make a complaint when she replied "I don't know" icon_rolleyes.gif I ended up hanging up and finding the number myself.

The next day I checked my email and to my surprise my Paypal account had been frozen due to "Suspicion of money laundering" because my account was in excess of $2000....That's not a problem but this had happened to me before and I was assured it was a one off thing. The first time it happened I had to send photo I.D,bank statements and a utility bill which I did. They were now asking for it again.

I then listed some original xbox,ps1 and ps2 games and consoles which were also removed due to not having written permission from Microsoft and sony. And when I went in to live help to ask what the hell was going on I was told "Everyone selling branded/Trademarked items must have permission from the rightful owners (The company that made them) and was also told this applies for brand new and used items (What a load of BS)

Then yesterday I listed some general items which were also removed due to "listing violations" with no further explanation and this morning had my account banned because of all the warning I had received icon_evil.gif

Just to make it clear I never sold any counterfeit, fake, falsely described or otherwise tainted items. I only started having these problems once I threatened to contact fair trading over a $68 fee discrepancy.

Now I have no ebay account, paypal has copies of my bank statements,License,Utilities bills and I have done absolutely nothing wrong.

Be careful dealing with them because it's quite obvious certain employees hold grudges, have access to very personal information and can wreck absolute havoc on your paypal dealing...in short try not too piss them off!!

Thanks for listening

If a store is selling a game for $30 they are LOSING MONEY. This is a fact.

I cannot fathom how people don't understand how retail stores work. It costs a ******** more money to stock a game on EB's shelf than it does to store it in a warehouse in Nantucket. Again, this is a fact.

The only way that retail stores could possibly compete with online is if it ends up being a kiosk where you order **** to be sent to your front door, effectively going out of your house to buy stuff online. Obviously this is over exaggerating but in the case of Borders pretty much their only option would be to solely stock new releases in store, reduce the size of their stores tenfold, and have everything else in a warehouse that needs to be ordered.

That is the ONLY way that they could possibly compete with the online market.
icon_rolleyes.gif I didn't once mention EB, I mentioned stores like Harvey Norman who buy bulk and who also sell $8000 televisions etc. They lose money on a $30 game? icon_lol.gif I suppose they also lose money on $500 laptops, $200 GPS units and $20 blank dvd-r bundles......If they didn't make money they wouldn't stock it, quite simple really. It's supply and demand.

If they operated the way you say I guess people like Gerry Harvey make millions on paper routes and keep their shops for sentimental reasons icon_rolleyes.gif

Oh and on side note I know for a fact that places like HN pay about $15 wholesale for a new release PS3 game, I don't know how you do math but to me that's a pretty big profit margin even after overheads
People buy online for the same reason people download/pirate material....Because it's a damn lot cheaper than retail stores.

Just put it this way, Places like Hardly Normal will charge $80+ for a new release PS3 game but will sell it 6 months later for $30. Now tell me do you think they paid different prices to be able to lower the price to $30? Definitely not!! They would have paid the same price for both copies and would be making at least 100% on the $30 copy.

The simple way to bring more people to stores is to be more competitive with prices, online stores rely on quantity to make a profit (maybe making 30% profit) while retail stores prey on people who don't know any better to blindly go in and buy it for their asking price.

It's now becoming apparent that they are starting to feel the sting in regards to lost money and profits and have no problems about complaining about it, it was a bit different when they were sitting back making billions of dollars profit and not caring about their customers.

If the Australian government even contemplates listening to these morons we are in a lot of trouble as a country, It's like asking the government to close down the restaurant down the street because it is making more money than mine.

End rant
I think it's the tv, tried it on a CRT and it worked fine

SNES compatibility? (2 years ago)
Is it possible to play japanese snes games on a pal without any modding?

Or does it need a converter to play them? I have never used famicom games before so I have no idea.
