Sweet mate. I think this should be moved to the multiplayer meetup thread in the General Gaming Board. But still, I'm a fellow Gears 3 player. Hit me up on XBL: Nathan 0012. Should play a match or two. I'll be away partying for uni orientation week this weekend but should resume my gaming sessions afterwards. icon_smile.gif

What the hell are you saying? Does anyone see what sort of person I had to deal with? You're such an immature person, Falcon. Good luck with the website man.
Hahaha, that was when he was arguing with me and Jedi_Amara after I ranted about his sudden and completely unjustified banning of me on Gamerdungeon in the middle of a transaction just because he was having a hissyfit that week that I didn't get back to him for a weekend and threw around his banhammer for not paying when, in fact, I did just moments before he threatened to ban me. Then he banned me anyway. Lawl.

This guy is evidently guilty of blatant advertising which in some cases extended to harassment via PM, banning several PALGN users for very trivial and questionable reasons and negging and abusing them on here, mocking PALGN over on his own site, taking advantage of the Roland situation with more blatant advertising... the list goes on. I really hated how FeralOni and a lot of the other "veteran" members with sticks up their asses going around and abusing other members with foul language, but Falcon is one user who has proven that he does not deserve an apology from you or any the of the new admin team, Roland.

Spanca wrote
January 2012 - FalconDude was banned again for exactly the same behaviour against a different user.

In each of these cases, the negging behaviour flowed from trades that had gone bad on his site, Gamer Dungeon. In at least one instance, the reason for the bad trade was that he had banned the user for reasons unknown before that user could get his details to complete the trade! It was also revealed that he had been abusing those members via the private messaging system and using racial slurs (the sort that we expressly forbid and moderate against on PALGN).

January 2012 - FalconDude was permanently banned for repeated infringements of a host of rules and abuse of PALGN forum members, all of which had persisted for over 6 months.

February 2012 - FalconDude blackmailed his way into getting the permanent ban lifted.
How he blackmailed his way back into PALGN after getting banned that day, I don't know; I just assumed with the collapse of the previous existing team that everyone banned could come back. However, this shows how sloppy and unprofessional the new administration team is in letting him back in, and probably will be for a the far future.
It's kind of sad because as a relatively new user who has come on here regularly in the last year and a bit (just in time to witness the fiasco with the Game Exchange and such) the majority of the forum and its community I thought was at least fun, interesting and informative has just collapsed into a rabble of bullshit. All the "veteran" posters who "contribute" so much in comparison to the newer or less active users are merely, at least in my experience, spamming up the forums with all manner of mindless meme pictures, swear-fests, popularity contests and f-you's, as well as immaturely trolling newer or less active members, either because they can get away with it (as a certain mod admitted to me when he messaged me back when I complained days ago) or when the newer members show (understandable) weariness of the way the boards are going.

I am in no way supporting the way the newer leadership has handled the situation, as eloquently exposed on Pastebin, but the "veteran" community (excluding the staff and writers, well, some of them) are just encouraging newer or less active users like me, who don't want to put up with immature meme fests, farewell and goodbye threads, and gang-up trolling attacks, to stay here on PALGN or merely ignore this new Rocket site. They're just giving the impression that Rocket will merely be made up of this clique mentality bullshit that has reigned (also understandably) on these forums; anyone not part of the "contributing veteran" circle of PALGN will probably not be too thrilled to move with the rabble.

(And yeah, like I said, I like feeding them trolls, so this should really be a PM t0o. So no more from me in this thread after this post)
Yeah real nice PM mate. Real mature. Shining example of pathetic trolls roaming the Internet, using meme pictures when facing the reality of their sad existence when someone else points it out to them.
Nah you're right mate. I'm just feeding him. But it's not about the freaking vote system. I just really don't like him.

And nah not everyone on PALGN is a wanker. Opposite, in fact, I have found. It just seriously seems like this guy in my opinion is the only genuinely pathetic poster on here. Everyone else jokes, but this Gooberman really is just a sad troll.
The thing which has amused me is that you pretend your neg was legit, but you're so pathetic and know you did it in return for my two on your stupid posts in the other thread. My question was stupid how? I'm sorry, I don't know what cliques or clubs go on in this forum, but not everyone likes your obnoxiousness.

The only thing which has annoyed me is watching you hijack other topics with your really, really sad attempts at trolling, sarcasm, jokes, whatever. Yeah yeah "feed feed" or whatever the joke is, but I'm just being honest. You're a sad guy. That and when other users, usually with the clique mentality that has so clearly formed here on PALGN, ignore or encourage you to do so. It's really sad. That's all. icon_wink.gif

Nice work in bringing another thread's flamewar to this one, moron. Hell, if you really have an issue with me and the postcount increasing you seem to think is a point, why not private message me instead of making posts other people neg?

Hahaha you're such a sad guy, playing the white knight keyboard warrior. You know you're pathetic enough to have negged me just for negging you that. But the only issue I have is how much of a dickhead you are on these forums, always being a smart-ass or trying to make funny posts that FAIL miserably. I'm just pointing out how much of a f*ckwit you are. You say I could have messaged you but you could have easily done to that to Andyballina in your stupid obnoxious posts in his thread. Where do you get off? You're the only who seems to bother everyday making sad posts pissing off other users or negging others like me in threads like this who don't like your sad insults or jokes. You brought the flamewar hear dipshit, not me. I just made a post asking a question and you immediately negged it like the sad guy you are after seeing I didn't like your stupid posts, and then you're being a smart-ass pretending your return neg (and very swift reply on this topic, haha, took the bait) was just for my question. My question was perfectly fine, and Soap of Death answered it and didn't think it was stupid like you seem to do. You're just an insecure sook. icon_wink.gif

Heaven forbid I have an opinion on that post. What exactly makes you think delivery time will change horribly within three weeks?

I'd say think before you post, but your edit there indicates you lack the capacity to do that.
Ha! You gave me that neg within an hour of me negging your series of obnoxious posts against another user in the Xbox 360 board. You can have an opinion (as moronic as it is), but you and I both know you're pathetic enough that you pretty much just negged me in response because you're having a sook at me for not liking your constant stupid sarcastic posts against other people, not for my most recent post. The neg's fine with me (the two I gave you are obviously not fine for you, and I saw you sooking from Andyballina's negs in his thread in the 360 forum, wahh wahh), seeing as how the whole vote system is broken anyway, but I wanted to say it to point out how sad you are. You even responded quick. Nice. Do you feed off trolling people? I guess it works because I've taken the bait now.

Anyways, your opinion made me laugh. So what? I'm allowed to ask a friendly question about a gaming website from another gamer, who gave me a friendly response. You think it's stupid? Fair enough. I think you're a dickhead, for your depressing attempts at wit and constant sarcasm against other users on the board. That's my opinion.

Why insult other users on here about making another "redundant thread" when you're spending probably five minutes at a time writing up a series of moronic, sarcastic posts full of attempts at humor and stupid YouTube videos to insult that guy in the board about something not even remotely related to the point of his topic, and to increase your own post count? Dickhead.

Falcondude is now threatening to report me to the police for being unable to send two games to two people that he is willingly withholding the address information for.

On a side note... this is just my opinion anyway, but what is the point of this topic? The disc for my copy of Tales of Vesperia is now completely dead. icon_sad.gif It was rather frustrating when I was playing through the game and the game crashed shortly before fighting the last boss. I loaded my save file, but it crashed again, at the exact same point. I looked at the disc, and I could see a few light scratches on it, so I took it down to JB to use their disc repair service. When I got home and put it into the 360, the console wouldn't even recognise the disc. It still won't, no matter what I try. Sigh. icon_sad.gif How the heck did JB make the disc even worse? Seems like all I can do is throw it in the bin now.
Oh man, that sucks so bad! Did you install it to the 360? That's how I got around the scratch freezes on my pre-owned copy. Hope you get it fixed mate.

I have a new thing that ticks me off this week (well, a mixture of mild amusement and irritation): when a user on PALGN goes on a neg fest on all of your recent posts because he's having a sook about his unprofessionalism being pointed out by me in this same thread a few days ago. Have a sook mate and get off PALGN and back to your dying website.
Say what you want man, I'm just ranting in the rant thread. I can post the screenshots of the messages and the time they were sent if you want, but then I would be just as bad and pathetic.

Now that you've gone on responding and whatever, I might as well want to warn people about the lack of professionalism. I haven't personally insulted you or made fun of the website. All I have described so far is a bad experience in a trade transaction made on the website, which just so happened to be with the founder of said website, you, and just so happened to have another person, Jedi_Amara, express shared sentiment with the bad experience with the particular seller/admin, which is you. How is that total BS?

I also apologised several times and here for being busy in life. And also for not sending payment as a gift, which I openly acknowledged as my fault. Other than that, what do you want me to say? That you're allowed to call me a douchebag and threaten to ban me? Would all website owners do something similar and handle it so unprofessionally?
Jedi_Amara wrote
I for one am not really surprised at this, I recently expressed much the same sentiment as in your last paragraph. I've had problems with the person in question myself, but I've found that people like that aren't really worth arguing with and if it makes you feel any better the trading forum over there is inactive enough that being banned hasn't really affected me at all (I wasn't banned over a transaction, it was for saying that the trading forum there was pretty slow and then making a price check thread for something I didn't know about, which was apparently an "auction").
Personal opinions on the trading forum isn't exactly something that, as an admin, they can ban you for, as well as one-sided communication to what probably was obviously not intended to be an auction. I see you also got handled unfairly.

It's not so much that I want to argue with him or am angry about being banned. It's more or so the lack of professionalism and the dirty way he conducted himself, despite preaching on his own website that such ways of handling a trade are not allowed. It doesn't apply to himself, obviously. Also, I wanted to fairly and objectively warn the other admins and mods and users about the way he conducted the transaction, but he made sure I could not, obviously. Fair enough as admin, but you should not need to threaten or abuse your power in the first place if you want a thriving community.

You got banned for posting similar to above on my site because I didn't repy to your message IMMEDIATELY after you made me wait 3 days to get a repy from you after saying you would buy a game and received the payment details...

You were on xboxlive alot of this time playing games...

You have won and got free give aways on my site at least 3 times and when you finnaly decided to pay for the game I was selling you made a paypal purchase payment (not a gift as I asked in the thread).

I know you will probably post some more BS in reply but this is all I have to say.
I suppose it's a bit of a rant, but hey, that's what the thread's for that ain't it? It's also a bit relevant in two ways; one, it just happened, and two, you are a user here and you promote your website here on PALGN.

Like I apologised in our messages numerous times, real life just got the better of me. Life outside of gaming and the Internet always takes priority mate, unfortunately. I was staying at my girlfriend's house on Fri and went out the whole weekend for a party. Had the 360 at hers so played it a few times and bought XBL stuff. Decided I wanted to pay you via PayPal because if I had made the deposit when planned (a Friday), it still would not have gone through until probably today, anyway. I was incredibly sorry and felt extremely bad, but thought you might be relaxed with me seeing as how it was 3 days, a weekend, and that we had done transactions (well me winning the comps) before. Hence why I constantly sent you messages on XBL and Gamerdungeon apologising for the delay.

And again, I apologise for the wait. I did not know 3 days on a weekend was a long time. I also apologise for the paypal purchase payment; I did not realise I had to send it as a gift and that's definitely my fault.

But, unfortunately, as an admin of a message board, calling me a douche-bag and threatening to ban me for not paying when, in fact, as you realised three minutes later in the message you sent me, I did. It's all kind of unprofessional and insulting. It's also worse that you ultimately banned me and probably deleted my feedback review of our transaction, to let other buyers know what kind of seller you are, as you emphasis so heavily on your trading forum and its rules. Isn't that what a feedback system is for? I objectively worded it with no insults and just said your response and the way you handled the transaction's communication was questionable.

Anyways, sorry man, but I just don't see where I went wrong here other then making you wait a weekend because I was busy due to, well, life. I'm sorry for that, I said sorry for it multiple times, and I am sorry for not gifting the payment. I am not sorry for being called a douchebag and being threatened to be banned (and eventually, banned) for what is merely your unprofessionalism.

I even took the liberty of taking screenshots of the insulting messages and the threat of banning me which you sent, knowing that you'd probably ban me to cover it up from the other forumgoers. Very good administrator you are. I have no idea what makes admins of forums go ape-shit on me, seriously.

Anyways, wah wah wah I'm probably just as bad as you for ranting here, but hey, this is the Internet. And this is a rant thread. And you are a member here and somewhat promote your site on PALGN. So... only natural, right? As a warning and as a rant?

Lesson that I have learned; perhaps, as much as I miss it, the drama which probably unfolded behind close doors and in private messages here on PALGN probably was not worth keeping the Gaming Exchange open for. I do still miss it, but I guess I can understand the stress the admins and mods would have had to go through when hearing or dealing with these types of terrible situations.

Sorry if this is all inappropriate in the ranting thread, PALGN staff.
What ticks me off? When an admin and founder of a forum abuses their power and bans you for doing absolutely nothing wrong.

Get this. I paid for an item on Gamerdungeon.com.au's gaming exchange. Me and the seller (also founder and admin) had already sent stuff to each other before so I thought we were all good and relaxed, and we have spoken on the forums and XBL before. My mistake to presume. Anyways, the weekend comes up and I get busy, like most people. So unfortunately I cannot make payment until Tuesday, which is today. The seller hasn't even sent the item yet so there is no problem at all for both parties, but for him waiting. I apologised several times as I felt bad for making him wait, but hey, life comes first.

I finally got around to sending him the payment via PayPal, slowed down thanks to my horribly slow and capped Internet, and when I send him a message to let him know about the payment and say sorry again for being late by three days, he threatens to ban me for "being a douchebag" because I sent the message but apparently did not send the payment. He sends a message nearly exactly three minutes later saying "lol, what timing", obviously having checked his PayPal and seen that I had sent the payment.

What happens? I get no sorry or explanation for the threat or insult, get refunded without notice and banned from the forum, even though I had sent the payment and did nothing wrong. It depends on if you consider three more days from expressing interest to buy and actual payment wrong, with a whole load of apologies for being late thrown in.

Heh. I guess when you're admin and the founder of a website and forum, you can do whatever you want, so I can't blame him there. But still, where's the classiness? Where's the professionalism that was emphasised and enforced so heavily by the founder in the trading section? Does it not apply to everyone equally? It's just disgraceful and makes me feel sick.

I miss PALGN's gaming exchange. I know it was not perfect, but no seller here ever gave me such trouble or insults as I did with the founder of gamerdungeon.

The Witcher 2 Enhanced Edition Coming To Xbox 360

The Xbox 360 version of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings will arrive in the second quarter of 2012, the latest issue of Game Informer has revealed. Even better – it’s an “Enhanced Edition.”

The Enhanced Edition will include numerous tweaks and fixes, controls further optimized for the console gamepad, and over four hours’ worth of new quests, bringing the player to new locations and introducing them to new characters. The story-arc for these extra quests, the magazine reports, revolves around the kidnapping of royal heirs.

The magazine does not mention whether or not the Enhanced Edition will come to PC, though developer CD Projekt RED has a good history with providing additional content at no charge.
Finally, some news of the Xbox 360 version! Can't wait for it.

What happens if you've killed most/all of the bosses and the person you want to play co-op with hasn't? They have to summon you, and you can't summon them?
It doesn't matter if the person being summoned has beaten the boss or not. Only that the summoner is human and has at least one boss alive in the area. There's also a level restriction - not too sure what it is exactly but Demon's Souls used to operate on both players needing to be within (10% + 10) levels.

Once summoned, a player will stick around until either killed, a boss is defeated or they choose to leave.
Thanks mate. I ended up playing co-op with two others users from the U.S. and Canada, respectively. Surprised there was no lag. I was also pleasantly surprised when I saw them both summon me. I had thought the XBL Dark Souls community was deserted, but upon playing with the U.S. guy through the sewer system and consuming one of my spare humanity items, I saw a vast amount of Hollows wanting to be summoned. I think it was a combination of my high level (I grinded til getting to 30) as well as not using my humanity items prevented me from joining anyone or seeing anyone else in the Undead Berg and Undead Parish sections.

Safe to say I love co-op. Was immensely fun helping the American guy take on the Capra Demon. Was also a bonus to find out he was a good communicator and had already played Dark Souls through three times and was willing to be summoned into my world to help me as well. He tried to warn me about the curse in the sewers but I rushed and paid the price. icon_lol.gif
Not gonna enter but great and generous giveaway. icon_smile.gif

Whoa, never heard of that before, looks like a sweet niche title.
Spectacular lineup, though I personally think it's going to be hard for 2011's lineup to be out-shined and outsold. Skyrim, The Witcher 2, Dark Souls, Gears 3, Uncharted 3, Arkham City... and those two military shooters that I forgot the names of; you know, the ones that have sold billions for some reason...

I personally am interested in Amalur, Dragon's Dogma and GTA V, though ME3 may eventually return to my gaming heart, just as ME2 did a month before its release.

Missing from your list is the new reboot of Tomb Raider, I Am Alive, and Alan Wake: American Nightmare. Oh and the behemoth that is Halo 4, though I doubt it'll make 2012 despite with 343 Industries or Microsoft says.
Re: Dark Souls (1 year ago)
Thanks for the advice, Pagan. I have been playing around with all the weapons I've been picking up and so far I am enjoying the maces, spears and rapiers a lot more than the standard swords and hand axes. I have however still leveled STR and DEX evenly, at least until I get a proper feel beyond the current area I am in (which I think is the one after Undead Burg). I've mainly leveled up VIT and END as I desperately need HP and Stamina, I'm getting slower as I am grabbing more things. Haven't touched the other stats. I think I will end up being a DEX build, though, and may consider enchanting weapons with the elements like you and David suggested.

Well, my first proper gaming experience with Dark Souls has been extremely satisfying, though also extremely frustrating and irritating; just the way I imagined it would be! I patiently made my way through Lordan and Undead Berg or whatever, farming all those undead multiple times and looting pretty much every item in the area and getting a few goodie drops on the way (Spear, Armoured Boar Helmet thingy, so on). I learned the consequence of hoarding Souls when I reached the bit with that %$@$545$%$#23 dragon on the bridge, as I died with 11000 on me after he did his stupid fire breathe twice, and then died on the way there trying to retrieve it, also learning in the process that your Souls disappear forever if you die again before reaching the green orb. Man did I throw my controller.

I also learned about the Drake Sword from my mate who started playing as soon as I got it today, as he wants to play co-op with me. I got it without too much fuss, shooting his stupid tail about 20 or so times, though the Sword itself is nearly broken now after I killed the Black Knight in the tower after you pass the Dragon with it.

However it took me almost an hour to pass the Dragon, as it seemed he became more aggressive with his fire blasts once I obtained the Drake Sword. I exploited his movement when he lands in the middle of the bridge and just sprinted underneath his legs after the 1000th time, only to later find there was the other way under the bridge into the bonfire beneath him, when you go into the connecting sewer past the three mutated rats and up the ladder. I was so angry when I found that out.

Currently trying to figure out where to go from here. I killed the Armoured Boar thing and have the Mystery Key but can't find out how to open up the stupid gate, or what door this key opens. Fun fun fun. Love this game so far.

Edit: Saw this on the news.

Light one-handed blades are great if you're still keen on a good defense. Weapons such as rapiers are easy to poke from behind a shield quickly and only require a little bit of DEX to equip.

The only problem with the piercing nature of the weapons is that it makes them ineffective against some opponents (skeletons come to mind) and they're not the hardest hitting.
Makes sense that bludgeon weapons are ineffective against skeletons. I love swords too but I always go the two-handed dude, want to change up haha! What is more fun, I guess, in terms of combat and fluidity? And arew the animations for each weapon (like the Whips, Spears, Hammers, etc) unique?

P.S. I just used one humanity at the bonfire by accident when I reached the second area, Firelink Shrine. Was that bad?

Safe to say that I'm happy but a little amused at myself for being so impatient and judgmental of Zavvi... AusPost stuffed this up more than anyone else. Though the cardboard packaging indicates it was sent from Sweden, which explains why it took so long.

Well big update guys: I woke up this morning to find an email saying Zavvi refunded all my money back via PayPal (as well as scoring money on an unrelated Ebay sale, oh yeahhh!), so now I'm left utterly confused. They said they would only refund when I filled in the Self-Declaration form and faxed it over... I haven't even gotten around to it yet and they just processed the refund. They weren't kidding when they said it would be ASAP.

So what am I supposed to take from this swift refund? That they never sent it after all and they realised it? Or that they are not willing to lose a customer? I'm so confused!

And, as always, the postie came and went this morning; but still no parcels with a Dark Soul in it.
