The worst part of this is that they didn't do a good job of this collection, and so there won't be another Dreamcast collection because this one won't sell very much. It's a catch 22 situation.

And so I await the next 3D Sonic game that I will not buy.....
And here I was thinking you'd post this article today with the headline "3DS's are totally free!" icon_razz.gif

posties that don't bother delivering registered mail and just leave a slip. They did not knock on the door meanwhile the screen door was closed and the wood door was open so it looked like people were home which i was.
Sometimes I get packages (usually games) shoved into my letter box and sometime I have to go to the post office for them. Last week I went in with one of those slips.... and they didn't have my package. They found it a couple of days later, and you know what the excuse was? "Oh, the postie must have remailed the package". Though, thankfully (knock on wood), I have never had a package lost on me....
Re: Supanova (2 years ago)
I'll be headed to tomorrow's Brisbane Supanova, sporting my David Tennant Doctor Who costume from last year.... Even managed to convince my brother to come along and wear my Dr Horrible costume from last year too! Even though he hasn't seen Dr Horrible, he really wanted to dress up... He wanted to go as Savage Dragon, a comic he used to read, but not enough time! I had planned on doing up a Ghostbusters costume, but forgot about it... I actually thought I'd missed this year's Supanova....

I'm disappointed that we don't get Simon and Nick, but understand they're pretty busy boys! Also a shame that Julie Benz won't be there, as I love Dexter... but a fellow Buffy star replacement is fine by me! Plus, though I haven't seen the older Who's, it'll be a joy to see Colin Baker...

So if you see Doctor Who walking around with Dr Horrible.... please say hello to my brother in the Dr Horrible costume, as last year when I went I think only about 2 people knew who I was lol

Let's hope the guy in the epic Dalek costume from last year is there again this year!
Re: Stacking Review (2 years ago)
I totally agree with this score. The game has beautiful visuals and a quirky storyline and characters. The puzzles are pretty easy, and it's not the longest game ever. But the multiple solutions to puzzles are the best bit. Usually there'll be one obvious solution that's easy to achieve, but the fun really comes out of trying to find less obvious solutions. And the puzzles are a nice touch for striving to achieve every outcome.

I'd thoroughly recommend this game to anyone! Though I also got this game for free through PSN Plus, so bargain!
The new Duke Nukem?
Re: Hydrophobia Review (2 years ago)
I haven't had a chance to play this yet, but I heard the original was pretty bad. So I waited until the patch was released (and it was on special last week). And here I was hoping for an action based Heavy Rain in water. I'll still give it a go now (seeing as I've already bought it lol)

No idea what to do, is having an 18th really a big deal?
I usually holde my birthday with those near and dear to me, don't feel like you have to hold a big celebration if you don't know anyone in your new town.....

One thing I've learnt as I've grown up, celebrations happen when you and your friends have time to get together... that said, if you're in brisbane.... icon_twisted.gif
People who post items up for sale and ask "Please PM me offers"... and then hours later post "everything's moved over to eBay".

Seriously, if you're trying to make money off something, post it on eBay with a ridiculous Buy It Now price. If you want someone to actually look after and play your stuff, sell it here. But don't list it on here expecting us to throw money at you for the privledge to buy your second hand games..... We have the power of the internet for research, we're not dumb.... icon_twisted.gif

P.S. I respect those sellers who put things on ebay after no-one has shown interest on here... what really grinds my gears is when a few people show interest but they put it up on ebay because they can't be bothered putting a price on their stuff....
One of the guys at work, he took a trip around Europe over the holidays with his family, and he was talking about the films they show on airplanes... and he mentioned this movie, and how he didn't like it... but I figure either he was talking about another movie (because how would it be out on airplanes already?) or... well, he's probably not the right audience for this... but I mentioned the rest of the cast and he confirmed they were in the movie..... I'm really hoping this is good in a cheesy kind of way.....
So I got a little drunk last night and got in the baking mood....

And I had in the cupboard the following ingredients:

A chocolate pudding mix (because I couldn't find the biscuit recipe I used last time that used it)

Caramel topping (because I thought I might make a caramel cheesecake instead)

A bag of marshmallows (becauce marshmallows are awesome)

So my idea was.... To make a cinnamon butter cake... and then to add the pdding mix instead of the plain flour... and then to add the caramel topping into the batter... and then to have a layer of marshmallows half way through the cake and one on top.... The initial recipe said at least an hour of baking, but I feel that was too long for what I made... I think it's a little burnt but my brother hasn't complained yet, and he's my tasting guinea pig..... Next time I won't cook it for so long... icon_twisted.gif
Hey Benza,

I got several emails a few weeks ago, all from the same recruitment agency, telling me I had not been successful in my applications.... which I applied for back in June last year....

Obviously they were doing a backlog of their emails or something lol

But wait, after almost a year, you tell me I haven't got the job? But I waited sooooooooooo long to hear from you! icon_twisted.gif

Funny thing is, I'm actually looking for a new job after having 3 jobs since then.....
My nephew (almost 4 years old) is obsessed with Kirby 64 and Super Mario 64 that I downloaded on my sister's Wii. He cales them "*my real name*'s games". My sister drags a chair close to the tv so he can play on one of my old Gamecube controller. (I have a Classic Controller Pro but it's for his birthday in 3 months time - such a long wait!) So cute (now if only he could learn not to delete my previous save games lol)

Future Nintendo fanboy right there icon_twisted.gif
Waking up in a cold sweat each morning. I feel like I have the flu and I'm drenched in sweat even though I have a fan half a metre away on full. Plus I have a rear projection tv, playing games at night is sweltering even with the fan on....
According to initial rumours, won't this be released a couple of months before the PSP2?

But hey, Sony, feel free to surprise me with both Parasite Eve 1 and Parasite Eve 2 on PSN just before it's release....
Haha... cool... I've been playing Final Fantasy and FF2 on my PSP on the bus too and from work... Now if only thee would just release FF3 on PSP so I can bridge the gap between FF2 and the new game.... without buying a DS lol

Oh, and um.... Chrono Trigger?
I'm glad something came of this. It was pretty exciting watching it for the first time when it came out, but then nothing seemed to happen after that... Which was a shame because it's a pretty well made little movie and has some obviously fan service icon_smile.gif

I await the webseries to see if they can continue the feel of it with a longer story arch...

Game Dev Story is on sale for $1.19.

I bought it, didn't think it'd be that good, but just played it for over 3 hours straight, I didn't even walk around the house without looking up from my iPod icon_razz.gif
I bought it a while ago, played it whenever I had free time for about a week. I must admit, I have not played it since then, but I still sometimes wonder how well I could get a Reversi Action RPG to sell on the Virtual Boy icon_lol.gif
I can't believe that K-Mart are running this "Wii games for $15" sale again.... I went to 3 different K-Mart's during the last catalogue period and none of them had any of the $15 games in stock. To make matters worse, one of the games I was searching for, And Then There Were None, is being advertised again! At least they've taken out Sam And Max series one, but seriously, why advertise these games if none of your stores have any copies. All three stores said they'd never even received stock of those two games. But I'm sure there's one store in NSW and another in Vic with massive amounts of these games, and of course they're covered by "Titles may vary by store", when it would be more accurate saying "Most stores won't have any. Good luck finding these games". Grrr
*sigh* Such a shame.... I saw the trailer where Simon Pegg was talking about the game, and all I could think about was "Why have I not heard of this game before?" and "I wonder if he's played it himself". I must admit it looked very generic in gameplay back then too. And I'm not going to buy a game just for the voice... Well, a digital download game anyway (I did pick up a cheap copy of Matt Hazzard, I admit)

found out that Archer Season 2 starts this week... ****ing yes.
Now if only Frankenhole would get a second season too.... I'd be a happy chappy....
I saw the trailer for Spare Parts and I'm not yet sold on it. I'd be interested to give it a try if there's a demo available... Ah, Plants Vs Zombies.... How I have wasted many hours to you on my iPhone....
This happened last night but it still makes me smile today....

So I got my brother Super Street Fighter 4 for 360 for Christmas.... Last night he whipped it out and the good old brotherly rivalry began! It was pretty much 50/50 all night (he spent time trying to remember the moves from our Street Fighter 2 days while I would just jump and kick and, if all else fails, use Blanka).... Then my sister gets home, and she has my 3 year old nephew with her....

He sits there and watches wide eyed for awhile (not sure he has even seen a 360 game before, he's only really played Wii, PS2 and DS before), before asking if he can play. I hand him my controller....

Now, 3 year old versus 26 year old. One whose only experience with fighting games is Super Smash Bros Brawl and the other who has been my lifelong fighting game rival (including prolonged bouts of SNES Street Fighter 2 and Mega Drive Mortal Kombat). It's obvious how this was supposed to end....

And my nephew proceeds to pwn my brother. Not just one round. He wins the entire match. My brother wins no rounds (and we had it set as best out of 7 too) Now, I know my brother was trying from the amount of yelling he was doing at the tv. Granted, he was using a random character and got some weird character we'd never heard of before.... But my nephew is 3, and has probably never even heard the words Super, Street and Fighter together in a sentence during his short life, let alone know who Chun-Li and E.Honda are. And a couple of matches later I went up against my nephew with the same character and still managed to beat him (as you're supposed to be able to do when up against a 3 year old - especially when the pressure is on!).

I am so proud of my nephew right now. And have another embarrassing family story about my brother to bring out at all future family occasions. icon_twisted.gif

Monopoly, cludo, soccer, rugby, dungeons and dragons, warhammer 40k etc etc etc.
I once played Monopoly against a group of hippies... They got very upset when I offered to sell them the estates they needed for about twice what they were worth... But then I am a ruthless b*****d when I play that game.... Though trying to find people willing to play is often quite hard....
Re: Paul (2 years ago)
I was a bit dubious about this film, given it's American backing, but my friend showed me the trailer for it yesterday and ummm... yeah... I'm totally reinterested again icon_smile.gif

Love Pegg and Frost... now if only sometime during the film they could drive past a group of people in another alien comedy film, that would blow my mind (favourite part out of Shaun Of The Dead)
Let's see....

PSP: Final Fantasy (tried playing FF7 on it, but the long stretch between save points makes it hard to play on the bus to work... Yay for FF1 being able to save pretty much anywhere!)

PS3: Fallout 3 expansion packs.... (finished the main game without realising it, so now I just have the 5 expansion packs to play, and already 100+ hours have been logged on this game... and I don't regret a single minute)

360: Super Meat Boy... I love this game in small doses, too much and I start yelling at the tv when I keep dying.... I also bought Limbo... Played the demo and loved it to bits, so I had to buy the full version.... and DR2: Case Zero... Though weapons suddenly getting destroyed and leaving me to fight zombies with my fists reminds me of why I never finished the first one...

PC: Just finished Back To The Future: It's About Time (which I enjoyed, but it didn't feel like a movie or an adventure game, somewhere in between....) and Shadow Of The Vashta Nereda (Doctor Who Adventure game, which was better than the last one (TARDIS) but seriously, that's not saying much) Both were played as labours of love..... Just started playing The Misadventures of PC Witterbottom...

iPhone: Infinity Blade... Love this game, even though nothing much changes with each playthrough.... and another playthrough of Plants Vs Zombies... though I wish on your 3rd playthrough theywould make it harder by picking 6 of our seeds for you.... feels like I'm playing through a second time again....

IRL: Ummmm, they have games IRL? What hardware do I need to purchase to be able to play them? Does Bus Tycoon count (where you try and sleep in as much as possible whilst also managing to catch the correct bus to get you to work on time)?

What ticks me off.... Stupid Router issues again.

This house must be built on an ancient internet burial ground.
Tell me about it.... Even when our wireless router was working properly, we could only connect intermittently... We only have 4 things in the house that use the wirless - one PC laptop, 1 Mac laptop, Wii and PS3.... Wii gets used the least (for internet, anyway), and the laptops the most... My laptop would connect about half of the time, with the PC laptop being the most consistent (try to explain that to me, Mac lovers!)

Anyway, after New Years, something must have happened. Instead of our network name, the wireless is now called "default" when it shows up at all, and the laptops will connect to it, but won;t be able to access the internet... And now the cabled computers (and 1 x 360) are intermittently accessing the internet.....

I'm with Optus.... I just recently got upgraded to 500GB a month... and yet I can't download anything.... (I'm currently using my Vodafone Mobile Internet....)

And I ended up buying Limbo after my rant last night... I downloaded the trial, and damn if it isn't an awesome and atmospheric game... and well.... I couldn't wait until it was on special again icon_twisted.gif
My family asked for a list for my Xmas presents as I'm not subtle on hints.... I gave them a list of about 10 or so games....

Out of nowhere but freaking awesome:
Shadow Of The Colossus for PS2
My brother raves about this game but he.... ummmm... doesn't have an 'official' version, so my PS2 can't play it.... anyway he bought me the special edition with cards and everything!
Also from my brother.... A Master System gun.... still in it's box! For my retro collection, I still don't have a working master system yet to check if it works, but heck, anything retro in a box as a present is still awesome!

PS3
Fallout NV
Dead Rising 2
Borderlands
Bioshock 2

360
Alan Wake

And my brother got me a 2nd hand PS3 controller.... anyway, it turns out to be one of the original ps3 controllers without dualshock.... I'm actually okay with tht, as the collector inside of me wants one of all of the different controllers.. mind you, don't tell him, but I doubt I'll use it for gameplay unless I'm desperate lol Now all I need is one of the boomerang concept controllers to complete the set! icon_twisted.gif
Bring the 10% GST on! Seeing as I can get games overseas for at least 25% less than what they are here! I can just imagine the scenario if they charge 10% on overseas sales...... Walking into a Harvey Norman and asking if they can match an overseas price... Oh wait, what's that? They'll gladly bitch about overseas prices but won't match them because they're overseas? lol Surely the big names like Harvey Norman, Myer and HB Hifi are fighting for our rights to be able to walk into the store and get them to price match an overseas store, right? RIGHT????????
Working while everyone else is on holiday.... but besides that... Sitting between on guy who likes to bitch about everything and another who likes to watch Youtube during work at full volume while the boss walks around! All it takes is him to start looking up everyone's internet history to see how much time I spend on PALGN!

But also..... Why does Xbox Live not have a specials tab? I mean, PSN has a specials tab, and I constantly check it out (but have yet to buy anything, because the specials for Sony are not really specials in my book). But having recently come into Xbox gaming, and finding XBLA offering so much more than PSN.... Why isn't there a tab on XBLA that tells you what is on special? I have to constantly check online forums to find out what's recently reduced its prices....

And while I'm at it, why must these online stores update on American time? I tried to get Limbo for 800 points, but because it was on american time, and being new years (meaning I was away working, then partying, then recovering) I missed out.... I'm sure the game is worth it, but I like a bargain as much as the next person! If something is on special on 31st Dec, and I get up early to download said game on said date....... I don;t want to wait 12 hours or so until the rest of the world catches up... especially since by then I will be at work when the rest of the world is waking up!

*phew* Rant over (for now....)
