Woot, quite excited and all. Was going to get it this morning but I was too lazy and slept in so it'll probably have to be in the afternoon then.

This preloading of demoes is a good idea and I should have already done it... I'll get onto it immediately though.
Shame about the no PS1 classics compatibility at launch, was looking forward to playing FFIX on the train to Uni after release.
I haven't preordered but that shouldn't be a problem, right?

Looking to get it from JB.
A person by the name of AyinX. She essentially does any design you want on any shoe she can get her hands on. Her work is absolutely brilliant.
These came in the mail today. Am pleasantly pleased with how they turned out.

I was looking forward to 50ish dollars less than RRP and my staff discount on top of that. Shame.

Dicksmith should still be under retail (even if only by 5ish dollars) I would think. Aside from that I'm not too sure where else would have a decent launch day price for it...
Re: The Goal Thread ! (1 year ago)

This is probably the single best goal I've ever seen. It doesn't happen to rate that highly amongst other people for some reason though...

Also I'm pretty sure jp will appreciate the following.

Saw Serenity the other night after finishing up with Firefly. It was absolutely spectacularly amazing.

I am left wanting more though, as so many people were after it all finished up. In particular Book's backstory, the whole thing with the intimate knowledge of illegal affairs and no questions asked Alliance medical care. Would have thought he was a high ranking official during the Alliance vs Independents war or something of that vein.
I voted at 4.57pm. That counts right?

It's just I'm not sure if the dealine was 4pm or 5pm.

EDIT: Didn't notice the PALGN forums don't have the whole daylight saving dealy going on so I think I got in before the dealine. All is well.

Whines on GAF, whines on PALGN. Such is the life and times of Kerrby.
If this is the same Kerrby (which I have an inkling it is), he also whines on Bigfooty.
Heh, I love how 'family friendly' PALGN is at the moment. No swearing/obscenities present whatsoever. Also there's certainly no one plussing posts that include inappropriate language.

For the record fuck Roland and shit.
Face band-aids are pretty manly, right?
So in light of Sheedy (god he's crazy) basically anouncing his R1 team I thought I'd make a few changes.

Thinking I have one too many forward rookies and perhaps one too many midfield rookies too.

That aside I'm still a touch iffy on Lake and Hawkins.
My $poon is ready.
My friend finally lost his patience and created me a facebook account...

Yay?
I didn't know we had a thread like this...
Recently got a new laptop so my desktop is pretty barebones at the moment.

I love it when 'probably' is misseplt as 'porbably'.

Heh, porb is a funny word.

Haha, I haven't laughed that much in a while!
Thanks for the commentz jp.

Lake and Davis are two that I'm still tossing up about, it's a risk verse reward thing. You know that if Lake can shrug off his injuries/form issues he'll skyrocket in price.

The Goodes thing slipped my mind completely, good pick up. icon_y1.gif He's one of my favourite players so I just jumped at him when I saw his name. That and his versatility and longetivity appeal to me and also the recruitment of Walsh means he'll be playing more midfield which will help his scores.

Rookie mids that will play games are generally easy to come by so I thought I'd stock up.

Sandi is a risk, true. Think I'll end up getting Cox instead, or maybe Kreuzer.

Hawkins really showed a bit late last year and I'll monitor him throughout the NAB but it really looks like he's turned the corner. Part of the reason would be the improvement in Geelongs ruck depth which means he takes far less ruck contests anymore which he isn't really suited to.

Hmm, liking the backline, would potentially question Adcock and probably Spurr and Bosely. I haven't heard too much at all of the last two and doubt they'd be looking at any serious gametime in 2012. Spurr might as he's a mature ager and is reportedly pretty decent. See if you could possibly squeeze in a mid tier player like Phil Davis or Brian Lake (though you might have problems with each; weak team and injury/age respectively). Clarke is a canny buy and I'd hink he will take Davis' spot in the backline.

Midfield - I'm a bit iffy on Barlow, not sure he'll get back to that awesome first season he produced a couple of years back. Broken legs are notorious for essentially ruining careers. I don't rate Priddis that highly as a player but one things for sure, he'll rack up the ball and hence the points. I don't think he has as many 'monster' games as other players in his price bracket though. A (for arguments sake and no personal bias whatsoever came into this choice) Murphy for example will get his 25+ possessions a week but will also have those games where he kicks 2-3 goals and that bumps up his score by a fair amount. Hodge sounds like a good buy, had a restriced pre-season last year I'm pretty sure and thus never really got going. Morabito is an excellent buy, out for the entire year with an ACL so priced as a rookie, I'd expect him to jump at least 250k. Not too sure on Mcdonald, I breifly considered him but I don't expect him to play a large amount of games, he's more there in a mentoring capacity and I wouldn't be surprised if he plays less than 14 games. You need Gibbs... Everyone needs him, seriously expect him to tear apart games as he was starting to do late last season where he kicked 14 goals in his last 7 games playing as a roaming HFFer and Midfielder.

Rucks - Roughead; I'm not sure what to think of him. Achilles injuries tend to take a bit of time to get right so I'd probably go for someone else... That and the recruitment of Gunston might mean he plays more rucktime which I don't think he's really that suited to long term. He's also unlikelt to be fit for the start of the season. Giles is a good choice as I'd expect him to play a fair amount of ruck for GWS as they experiment with their rookie rucks. A firm no to Hamling, Stevenson is about the same price and a much larger chance to play as he is a mature ager that was specifically recruited to fill Otten's void.

Forwards - Martin is a gun and should provide some excellent scores throughout. Saad, Zorko and Rowe are good chances to play seniors early in the year. Not sure about Treloar or Schloithe. Perhaps try Pffeifer who has really impressed since being delisted from the Blues a few years back and with a Port team with a paper thin midfield he'll probably get games. Tommy Walsh at Sydney is a good choice too as Sydnye another dominant forward (White hasn't been able to put it toghether as of yet but Reid is coming along pretty nicely)

Also you might want to potentially consider some more DPP, you don't seem to have many interchangable positons at the moment (in particular back/forward). I really like the flexibility they bring so try to incorporate a fair few.

I've also got a pretty rough template going here, need to watch some NAB cup to further determine my rookies and emergencies.

Thinking I need at least one more premium forward and perhaps some more DPP players.
It makes me smile/chuckle but also feel sorry for people when I see them with stock standard iPod/iPhone headphones.

You think that''s music you're listening to?
Saw Underworld: Awakening today, had to go through some hoops as it's only showing at a handful of cinemas in Melbourne.

I came for Kate Beckinsale in tight leather and I got it; I'm pleased. Film didn't feel like a 'full' film, seemed to come to an abrupt end (which will then lead to a new one with hopefully more of Kate in tight leather). All in all I was happy.
Don't forget Castle... Which I do tend to catch whenever I remember.

There's just something so likable about him, even when he's being a massive prick as Malcolm in Firefly.
Been watching a bit recently.

Finished Breaking Bad. God was that finale awesome. Quite comfortably one of the single most brilliant culminations of visual entertainment I've ever experienced. I always let out a chuckle when I think of Bryan Cranston and then remember his role in Malcolm in the Middle and now on Breaking Bad. Some of the flashforwards did start getting a bit repetitive but it speaks volumes for how good the show is when that is just about the only discernable flaw I found.

Also finished the first season of Homeland, I definitely enjoyed it and will be watching further seasons but it didn't quite wholly capture me for some reason. There's something about Claire Danes that I'm kinda iffy about.

Started Firefly the other night too. Had continually heard references to how good it was but what eventually made me actively pursue it was the fact that I found out the music is down by the Greg Edmondson, the guy who did the music for the whole Uncharted series. After also finding out Nathan Fillion was starring in it I was doubly interested. I'm only an hour in so far but am enjoying it.
That lookalike originated from the Bigfooty forums. It was orignally the full pictures:

Which makes it even funnier because of Abott and Murphy's derpy face lookalikes and the half covered faces of James Kelly and some random politician.

I'm pretty sure that place has been closed for a year and a bit now...
It seems I wasn't the only one that took the liberty of searching for board game cafes/restaurants in Melbourne after I read this thread.
Just found out about the existence of an RTS based inn the Star Wars universe that is really similar to AoE; Star Wars: Galactic Battlgrounds.

WHY DID I NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS BEFORE?
I'm thinking if I don't end up seeing any decent bundles with Uncharted I'll just buy it from Target with my team member discount. I'll save a touch under 18 dollars from RRP.
