Re: Gaming Bargains V2 (1 year ago)
Hey EmWearz, Was at sams warehouse in Rowville, Vic.. Also picked up Mr Deeds for $3 there on return as well as kingdom hearts 2 for $13 as well.. Might head to a few others to see if they have any other decent titles tomorrow!
Re: Gaming Bargains V2 (1 year ago)
.. Not sure if it's in anyone's interest, but i went into Sam's Warehouse today and picked up a new copy of Metroid: Other M for $13 & WarioWare: The Shake Dimension for $13 also... It was bang on closing time so i didn't get to check out if they had any other cool stuff.. Will definitely be heading back tomorrow!
They also had 50% off all CD's/DVDs, so i picked up Happy Gilmore/Billy Madison Double for $4.50.. stoked!

Re: Mario Kart 7 (1 year ago)
Couldn't agree more admeister.. Had a bit of a play on double dash last weekend, still holds up so well... The 2 character per kart system I loved, but more so the ability to race 16 races back to back in a single GP.. Some seriously awesome memories!!!
After playing 200+ races of MK7, and 3 starred most of the 150cc / mirror mode, I've noticed the harder you work the luckier you get.. If you race supremely well throughout the entire course, maintaining 1st position and blue shelled on the line, if you've raced well enough you'll still cross the finish line first.. The first few hours were frustrating as anything, but I've noticed after playing a tonne the last few days, provided I get off to a great start, and hold items behind me literally 95% of the races, I'm less likely to get blue shelled on the line, and when I do - more often than not i will have enough of a lead to straggle across the line in 1st still... Obviously I still get beaten here and there, but I'm finding it a lot less common now than I was on the weekend..

Ok! I'm in.. It seems like I'm the only one though.?! Someone else join!!
Re: Mario Kart 7 (1 year ago)
I'm the same, it seems to be searching for groups the last 10 minutes?
Re: Mario Kart 7 (1 year ago)
Just added!!! I'm troyboy.. ( haha lame, I know!! )
Re: Mario Kart 7 (1 year ago)
Major issues for me include:
1.No time clock in GP mode.. Am I going crazy or has this actually been overlooked at Nintendo.?! I know it sounds a little crazy, but I spreadsheet all my GP races, was one of my favourite things to do..
2. No summary view to access race data ( that I'm aware of yet ) like statistics regarding shells, win/loss record, characters used in GP etc.. Is this non-existent or can I just not find it.?
3. No single player single race. Massive shame, seems to be overlooked.
4. New kart don't really seem to add much.. in some situations the glider even appears with absolutely no control over it whatsoever, making it difficult to identify was it is just thrown in these sections..
5. Im sure I read somewhere there would be a massive grand prix option to play 16 courses randomly back-back like what was possible in double dash, seriously dissapointed to find out this is not the case!
6. Mission mode = gone
I guess all minor complaints, I'm still really enjoying the game, just feels more of a revision / refinement of MKDS.. Haven't played online yet, although I'm really looking forward to being a part of palgns online community!!

Song: Go Don't Stop
EP: Go, Don't stop EP

Really digging this at the moment.. Very chilled out Acoustic music, sounds like some of the stuff the beautiful girls released a decade ago..
Not everyone
Secondly:
Foster The People:
Album: Torches
The entire damn album.
I'd seriously recommend this to anyone who enjoys easy-listening pop music. Catchy from start to finish, not the deepest album i've listened to, and doesn't divert from the same path much, but regardless it makes me seriously happy every time i listen to it.. I like that.

Re: How much will you pay? (1 year ago)
Really interesting to read!
I'll usually not spend more than $79 for a new release.. I'll usually head down to EB Games and price match whoever the cheapest retailer is.. As for 3DS games, probably $59 is my limit (as with Zelda 3DS and will be fore the next few)..
Collectors Editions are my really only exception, thinks like OoT 3DS and Batman AC i paid full price for... ($79 i think and $149 respectively)..
Agree with the rest about customer service, i find over at GAME they're always honest, and up for a chat.. I actually had a sales clerk convince me NOT to spontaneously buy a Dsi XL because he thought they were useless, and just stick to my 3DS!
Having worked at EB i noticed how we always had higher prices than the likes of Big W and K-Mart down the road, however offered gaming expertise to the likes of Parents and Grandparents who have no idea what to buy for their children.. So for them i guess it's sometimes easier to pay RRP than race around finding the cheapest price..

Re: Mario Kart 7's community feature explained (1 year ago)
Fourth!!
I loved spirit tracks; and probably enjoyed it more than Phantom Hourglass; however i found it provided an extremely similar experience to PH with more additions. PH just had much more wow factor for me..
Played the skyward sword demo at Nintendo Connection Tour in Melbourne last week; was mostly impressed with the Flying.. Controls so intuitive!

Re: E3 2011: Wii U announced (1 year ago)
Wow!! I loved both spirit tracks and phantom hourglass!! Can definitely understand the frustration playing on a train though..
I'm super excited about the wii U.. I remember when I first saw images of the wiimote years ago and thought wow, how will this not be a complete failure..? How wrong I was!! I'm thinking I'll like this more and more as it's revealed further..
Oh, and HD Zelda.? Beautifulll!!

Career manager seems amazing.. This is the only aspect i found missing from the ps3 version! looking forward to checking it out!

Is the GAME $1 deal cross platform? As in, can you trade in 2 Xbox 360 games and get a PS3 or PC game in return?
She also mentioned there was no exclusion list at this time, however the promotion has been super successful and head office were reviewing it over the weekend, and to get in quick as most likely there will be an exclusion list this week.
Re: Gaming Bargains V2 (2 years ago)
... Just browsing through the herald sun, and Harvey Norman have DSi XL's for 217... Thought it was pretty cheap, could be wrong though
..
Also yesterday at JB HI-FI Chadstonne, they had A Large Stack of Legend Of Zelda: Spirit Tracks Premiere Guidebook for $2.50... as well as splinters cell conviction and several other guidebooks..
Also, last night in my dream i was at toy's are us, and they were selling 2000 new and sealed boxed nintendo 64 games.. Was a little dissapointed when i woke up.

Re: Favourite Console (2 years ago)
Seriously tough one.. i think best memories are from SNES.. Something about playing the Donkey Kong Country series over, and over, and over... and SMW.. but i also have extremely strong feelings for my N65.. Banjo Kazooie && Ocarina Of Time...
Also - i agree, if a person is mature minded enough, yehha for sure play these games at any age.. however it's those in the same age category that aren't quite as 'mature minded' that you would believe cause the issues.. and restricting all under 18 might be the best resolution, even though many people under 18 could definately deal with it... I do however believe the '17 year old me' from 5 years ago would definately beg to differ..

Re: Your newest purchase (2 years ago)
Ridiculous i know!!
Cash Converters Dandenong -
Pokemons apparently just got traded, were in a box at the back (with a tonne of other cart onlys)
Bloodrayne cashies again,
The Pawnbroker about 3 doors down from Cash Converters Dandenong -
Professor Layton Lost Future - Looks brand new, $13, (dunno why),
Mario Party DS $13
NSMB -$13..
Two Harry potter games - $7..
The DS were meant to be $15 each, but after having a nice long chat with the cashier about Mario Party, he priced them at $13 for me!! What blows my mind is that the same shop had much lesser titles, i.e Nintendogs/Fossil Fighters for $25 each.. seriously makes me question their pricing structure!!

Re: EB / GAME (2 years ago)
That "Scratch guarentee" Is good and bad at the same time.. It saddens me to hear about these morons working at EB's talking rubbish about how it is 100% necessary.. Having worked at several EB Games stores now, it seems that the policies vary from store to store..
For example, pretty common knowledge (..Or at least as far as i could tell), that all pre-owned games/consoles come with standard 12 months warranty(i.e scratch warranty), yet in so many stores i walk into to buy my games i'm offered the scratch warranty for extra $3/$5, when all pre-owned games essentially have this included.. It seriously drives me bonkers.
I remember we did however get a tonne of games returned based on the 12 months scratch warranty, (mainly because young kids werent treating their games right, and mums and dads would come in to return them - working or not) - under the guarentee. So i guess in that sense, it's good for some and not for others.
Also as for commission, no comission is made from these "add-ons" however it in your weekly sales summary, head office looks at your figures and often dishes out praise accordingly, (and as far as i can remember on odd occasions they'd give out prizes for highest Scratch warranty count etc.)
Apologies for the long post, i could go on all day about this one!

i reackon they are selling Wii Guitars.. there's 3 clearance tables of GH/RB stuff, so i'll check it out.. If i find one - i'll just buy it and ship the dongle off to you for whatever it costs 1mpr3gn4t0r..? Or you can come pick up the guitar from melbourne or whatever, as i've got no use for a wii guitar.?

Not sure of how much interest there may be, but my local cashies has an absolute tonne of Guitar hero Guitars, Drums, Mic's etc all for around $5-10 each.. dirt cheap, huh. Am more than willing to pick some up for anyone if they want..
It's Cashies Narre Warren (Fountain Gate, Victoria) if anyone's interested. I will be heading down there tomorrow before uni if anyone wants me to grab anything.
Wasn't sure where to put this, apologies if this is the wrong place
