Yes it is worth it. I went with 120 GB, cost was a lot more but I don't have to worry about it getting full so quickly. I don't install games on it.
My boot time is way better, photoshop opens way quicker.

I remember an episode of Sliders where it looked like they had gone back to the Jurassic time but turns out they were in a dinosaur zoo in the future.

There's a program that upgrades the rom set but I'd say just use whatever version of mame that the rom set is for now. Then later get it sorted out.
I've heard great things about hyperspin, a bit of a pain to get set up 100% set up.
Some front ends that will do more then mame that I can think of are:
Atomic fe
Maximus Arcade - not free
But you'll need to install the emulator for the console and will take a bit to set up.

Pokemon Platinum.
So far in my team is: Twiggy (Torterra) level 50, Balloon (Drifblim) level 40 and Gar-Bro (Gabite) level 41.
My favourite types are Dragon and Psychic. Now I really need more in my party. Fly is covered with Balloon and I have some beaver thing with rock smash and cut for now. I need a water pokemon for surf and I don't want to train a Wooper as Twiggy has earthquake. There was a water/Electric that I liked in Emerald but I think it'll be too late by the time I get one to train before the elite 4. There was some other pokemon that looks a bit like Magikarp that i was interested in but evolving it looked hard and I'm not into berries and contests.
I'm thinking of getting a Flareon and/or Espeon but I could give Balloon Psychic from the TM.
So yeah basically any Pokemon recommendations?

Got to the second level where some chick wanted to give me an egg, okay sweet but my party is full. Go all the way back fighting a billion Gravelers, hatch 2 eggs and pick up one egg so I have 5 in my party. Go back fighting a billion more Gravelers along the way I find a Golbat, might as well attack and if it just lives I'll catch to help complete the pokedex. it just survives Crunch so I catch it. Make my way to the lady with the egg..my party is full.
Oh FFS. That Golbat.

Had a sort out and put thinks in alphabetical order.
Added a dodgy shelf in today so this is the top part.
First row: DVDs, spare 3rd party PS2 controller and Wow cards
Second row: More dvds. Blu-rays and xbox games.
Third row: Wii games.
My PC games and PS3 games.
And then all my other stuff chucked in there.
The bottom part.
PS2, PSP and gamecube games.
Dreamcast games, PS1 games and more wow cards.
My Metal Gear Solid shine.
While sorting through it all I came across the spare mouse pads I brought.
Been using the gamecube one so it's losing it's colour.
Added a dodgy shelf in today so this is the top part.

Get an apprenticeship first and that's if you can. It can be hard.
Earn while you learn.
You don't want to do prevoc then AD only to change your mind. What you learn during the apprenticeship will be a lot more then in prevoc which will help you be ready for the AD.
While in prevoc you should be phoning places up and getting work experience.

Internet has been pretty bad the past few weeks, I keep d/c in LOL and I'm getting errors downloading patches on PS3.
