Shenmue 1 & 2, Rez for PS3 (I wish), and was Segagaga Saturn or Dreamcast???
Awesome, thanks for that!

Just used MaximusCards.com to buy a US $10 card, which only cost about $14 through PayPal.

Thanks for the help!

EDIT: I can confirm the following things.
- A PSone game bought from the US store will work on an Aus PS3
- Maximuscards can get a code for the PSN to you within minutes of paying, via email
- Amazon doesn't send US cards to Australia
- Having an address in Delaware (specifically in Dover) doesn't add any sales tax to the transaction
I'd just recently got a hankering to play Castlevania SOTN and was unwilling to pay inflated prices for a disc version of the game, so I go checking on the PSN.

Nope, not in the Australian store., so I go check Wikipedia.

Says it's released in Europe, so I try setting up a UK profile, figuring that it's a PAL country and want to play it safe from a compatibility standpoint... Nope, it's not there either (so much for the UK being considered a part of Europe...).

So, running out of spare email addresses, I set up a US account. Yes, it's there! But...

Does anyone know if a US PSN game (PSone or otherwise) will work on an Australian PS3??? Personal experience greatly appreciated!

EDIT: And also PSP games bought over the PSN?
Half Minute Hero!!! Played, awesome...
Re: Your newest purchase (3 years ago)
Just went down to KMart to snap up A Boy & His Blob Wii for $40; it has the best looking disc art of any video game I've seen, it's full colour!

While there also picked up Minon: Everyday Hero for $20 (I'm such an Otaku...), also for Wii, and 2 copies of Sam & Max Wii for $10, one for me (even though I own the PC version, it was a steal), and one as a present for a Wii-owning friend.

Oh, and last night I bought Torchlight on Steam as a present for my brother, while it was still half price. He's just not going to install it until christmas day! icon_biggrin.gif
Grrr... PALGN making me spending money. Picked up A Boy & His Blob at KMart, and also picked up Sam & Max Wii for $10 and Minon: Everyday Hero for $20.
Playing through Ratchet & Clank Tools of Destruction. Picked it up on the cheap and have been loving it. I thought it'd be more weapons based ( i.e. no platforming), but it's been a nice mix of battles, puzzles and platforms. I don't even mind the arena battles as it gives me a chance to level up some of the lesser used weapons.

The icing on the cake is the humour in the game, making me laugh out loud on several ocassions, and the fantastic graphics. I'll take a stylish game over a realistic one anyday.

I can see myself finishing this and jumping straight into the PSN title.

Not sure how far I'm through it, but I'm just past the cutscene where the Pirates steal the Lombax weapon from you, and you have to go retrieve it from them.
Re: eGames 2009 Wrap-Up (3 years ago)
Not having the big publishers there was definately a blow to the show this year, but at least they had a couple of vendors! Last year (or maybe year before) there was only 1 stall selling anything. It was nice to be able to make impulse puchases while soaking up the sights.

Any particular reason PALGN didn't have a booth this year?
The real kick to the nads is that Nintendo is blocking access to the Wii Shop channel unless you have the latest update, which is why I updated, which is why I lost my Homebrew Channel icon_evil.gif
Just finished Braid earlier this evening (on Steam). These are my literal reactions when I finished:

*eyes wide*
*swear*
*feel glad that I'm playing on computer otherwise controller would be currently embeded in the TV*

After calming down, I realised that it's a fantastic ending as explained in the quote-y bit below (kinda spoilery)

Probably Spoilers wrote
It's more the fact that the realisation you make is a fantastic twist! The end of the level should've been the end of the game. I didn't really get what the 'Epilogue' was about (and from comments from the internet at large noone else does, either) and thought that the ending would've been better on that sudden realisation, without the last bit making no sense and spoiling the mood... (FYI: I'm not even going to mention what that realisation is in here, so people can experience it for themselves)
And I only consulted an FAQ for one of the puzzle pieces!

EDIT: fixed grammer...
This could be the game that gets me to buy a PS3, just like We <3 Katamari got me to buy a PS2... I'll have to wait and see what the price is like...
Bought the 10 pack, even though I already own Everyday Shooter, Blueberry Garden, Audiosurf & World of Goo (WiiWare).

Mostly wanted Braid, but I also get a bunch of others, and now have more precision on World of Goo icon_smile.gif

I love the games but i do already own them on cube... its kinda like i cant quite bring myself to buy pikmin again on new play controls
Same here. I want to support all Ninty's more niche (for lack of a better word) games, but I can't justify buying essentially the same game again.
*standing ovation*

This sort of information needs to become a lot more widespread, and consumers need to be more informed of their legal rights so they can't be bullied by the console manufacturers into accepting the insultingly short 1 year warranties.
This was a while ago, but the last game I finished was Mario & Luigi DS.

I got up to final castle ages ago (literally more than a year) and for some reason put it down, and never came back. Having just finished another game whose name escapes me I thought I'd go back to this and see if I could finish it. Needed to look up an FAQ to figure out what I had to do, but once I did, it was pretty much plain sailing. Spoilers about final boss:

I LOVED the suprise final fight with Bowser where he doesn't let you attack. At first it was *PANIC*, but then you realise that he actually attacks himself!
The game had a good sense or humour and was funny, but I don't think it quite lived up to the first one. That being said, I can't wait for the third one to come out!
Been playing Klonoa remake on the Wii. After getting bored of 'action'/waggle games I picked this up cheap on eBay after the many recommendations in the review thread.

I <3 Klonoa! It's a simple 2.5D platformer, but that's what's so great about it, the simplicity. The graphics are stunning, again being 'simple', but they're bright and colourful and show off the world perfectly. The music's pretty good and the voices are alright (I know the review dissed them, but I think I've been conditioned on bad Sonic games over the years...).

I'm almost finished it, but for the ~$40 I picked it up for, it's perfect to play a level or two in small bursts, and it just makes me so happy!

Highly recommended!

What interests me is the complaints to Telstra, I don't know if I'm lucky, but I've never ever had a problem with them... yet everyone else seems to despise them :S
I just find that they're too expensive compared to other ISPs.

What pissed me off: Seeing Space Quest and King's Quest sets are now available on Steam, but not in Australia. ****ING ACTIVISION!!!
Technically, there is one place you can die...
Re: Klonoa Review (3 years ago)
I know this is old, but anyone wanting to get Klonoa on the cheap can get it here http://shop.ebay.com.au/merchant/gameshop-australia?_nkw=klonoa.

I've ordered mine, and while it hasn't come yet, I can't wait!
I bet it wont look like that one the Wii *pout*
Klonoa is on there twice, 1/09/2009 Tentative & 25/6/2009 Confirmed. Either way, I've heard good things about it so I'm looking forward to it.
YES!!! I hope we can import our characters from Golden Sun 2, that would be awesome!

Added bonus: Camelot recognise that there's a space between the screens!
You can weigh dog, etc on the first one. Weigh yourself, then weigh yourself again while holding the dog. It recognises that it's a different weight (although it has to be by a couple of kilos) and tells you.
Re: Plants vs. Zombies (3 years ago)
I played the demo and really liked it, but felt it was a little expensive.

The second they have a sale on it though, I'm picking it up.
I predict another Paper Mario game, but RPG kind like on N64 and GCN, not the platformer type of Super Paper Mario.
Yay! Marbles! Balance Challange is out!

I'm pretty sure it's the sequel to Kororinpa (awesome game!), although I don't know why they changed the name...
Already having both seasons of Sam & Max on disc, this just left Strong Bad. At $5 an episode, how could I not???
I'd prefer if they released all the songs from the previous games as DLC tracks. That way I could choose the songs that I really want, not buying this disc for about three songs...
Bit.Trip Beat is awesomely awesome, and I'm overjoyed that it's finally arrived, but the controls take a little bit to get used to.

While holding the Wiimote in NES mode, roll forward (away from yorself) to move up, and roll backward (towards yourself).
