Re: Starcraft 2 (2 years ago)
Anyone had any luck picking one up early? I even offered the EB games dude $20 to let me grab it now instead of going back at midnight and he got all righteous on me about how he would lose his job and that he doesn't accept bribes, I had to hang up because it made me laugh.

Edit: Shows how long ago it was that I used a mac.

Extra Edit: Just found a store that has 3 copies of the CE left, I'm gonna head down and get one now cos they don't know there is a release block lol. Anyone want one?
Re: Starcraft 2 (2 years ago)
I don't get it. Are you saying I'm really retarded because the joke was hilarious or that the joke was really bad and I'm not retarded at all?

Perhaps you should go have a bath you seem to have sand in your vagina. It was only a joke you sook.

Maybe because supporting the middle man supports the economy that supports your life style you incredible douche. If everybody was a tight arse and thought like you we wouldn't have jobs.
I'm in Craigieburn. But yeah it happened in Meadow Heights. Very tragic series of events.
Having only recently witnessed a good (muslim) friend fall in with a group of people with extremist views and have his life destroyed I can honestly say that the idea of these dirt bags being able to preach their extremist rubbish in this country bothers me.

Now said friend was quite possibly one of the nicest people I've ever met in my life, then he meets some people who cause a massive change in him. He stops socialising with us, pretty much vanishes from the face of the earth and starts preaching his muslim stuff on his facebook. Fast forward one month and a dispute with his family over this turns violent, he attempts to strangle his mother and sister and stabs a good samaritan who tried to intervene. Police arrived only to be attacked and forced to put 4 bullets in him. Everybody survived, including him and now he will be up on 4 charges of attempted murder. Way to go extremist muslims preaching your hate for the west.
Re: Refugees your view? (2 years ago)
I worked for a guy who legally migrated from Iraq and is now a very successful businessman. He has since tried to assist his family in migrating over but they are being stonewalled because his younger brother has down syndrome and would be a 'burden on the Australian tax payer'. He has offered to sign forms to remove any financial responsibililty for the tax payer and to pay anything required to come over but to no avail.

This is one of many reasons I say fuck off to queue jumping boat people.
I owe JB HI-Fi's terrible customer service to my current career. Let me explain....

I went into JB Watergardens to buy a TV, I had $3k in my pocket and was ready to spend. I was not dressed to impress and hadn't shaved in a while, but nonetheless I was there to spend money. After asking one of the sales staff for assistance because I was largely ignored he proceeded to give me half-hearted responses and tried to brush me off as quickly as possible. I asked him if he was ready to take me seriously because I am making a big decision here and his reply was 'Well that depends if you're buying today.' to which I responded 'Fuck you mate, not spending a cent here now' and left.

I went to a competitor and in the end decided on buying a new computer instead. Having a chat with the guy who was serving me (who turned out to be the manager) landed me a job interview and I was working there within a week. Two years later I'd proven myself as being the #1 in sales both years and recently landed a job as a state account manager for a big software company. Company car, travel allowance and $52k a year base = much love for shitty JB service.
Got the job I mentioned I went for not too long ago. I'm not a state rep for a leading software company. Company car, phone and internet + travel allowance + $50k base + comission. Fuck yea.
You'd make a great judge Andrew, you lack common sense.

That bloke should get 10%, he left. The law is a load of bullshit sometimes.
I said the same thing about one of my brothers mates! La Roux looks like a female version of him, they are both ugly as sin!

Man there is no way you found all the treasures without a guide chickenplucka. Some of those clues are so vague it's not funny. I'm stuck on number 5 I think.
Better yet, don't buy it. UFC 2010 is a terrible terrible game. I though they might improve over the shit fest that was UFC 2009 but nope, the mechanics of the game still feel like you're controlling a robot. With epilepsy.
Had a bit of a get together with friends last night. Someone decided it was a good idea to stuff a banana down someones pants and try to mush it in. I was slapped in the head with said banana and they got it on video, set me up good lol.
Hell yes bobkid. Had a going away for leaving my job last night and went through 2 bottles of that shit. They bought me 3 more as a going away prezzy as well lol.

Dont even consider driving after drinking on your P's, but its not a bad idea if you have a big bender to have a glass or two of water before you finally crash and fall asleep.
Re: Anxiety.. (3 years ago)
When somebody says there are plenty of fish in the sea, they aren't implying that you should go out on the town and hump the first thing that looks at you. It's a pretty short and easy way of saying that despite everything that's happened, you'll always meet someone else that makes you happy. To lash out at anyone saying that only makes you a douche wallowing in self pity.

I had a poor ending to a 5 year relationship get me down in the dumps for a good 7 or 8 months, but I didn't wallow about and sook about it. Life moves on and clearly if the special feelings werent returned from this person then you are being clingy and need to move on.

On topic:

A friend of a friend claims he suffers from anxiety yet it only seems to show up conveniently when he is forced to get a job and not bludge on the dole. As such it's always been a little hard for me to get it when people demonstrate such a trait. I understand that there can be a lot of underlying factors but I've always been able to overcome any sort of mental block. Was scared of heights as a kid so I climbed a heap of really high shit until it bothered me no more. Couldn't the same sort of thing be applied to this?
Re: Red Dead Redemption (3 years ago)
Well I haven't read any of the reviews because I've been playing but I will say this. It's not the best game I've ever played but it's a damn load of fun in 2 hour bursts. I like being up to pick it up, do a mission or two, then roam around for a while or complete some challenges. The story missions are great and I love the banter between people when you are riding between mission hot spots.

I have yet to try multiplayer because it hasn't been released yet and I don't wanna get banned from live though I have a feeling I might still get my xbox banned anyway due to the fact that my achievements are dated.

Also, cougars are like deadly fucking ninjas. They ambush you all the time and are nearly impossible to survive if they get the jump on you.
You remind me of a friend of mine who played every game on easy mode just so he could beat us to the end and brag about it. He stopped after we made sure we called him 'Easy-Mode- instead of his real name at every possible opportunity. Poor guy, he probably hates gaming now.
I'm due to move jobs next monday but now an even better one has arisen for me and I've been contacted for an interview. Pretty sure I have it in the bag too.

$60k p/year + commish + car (including all fuel) + phone = WIN
Wow, disagree with a lot of what has been said in this thread. I'll sum up how games fit together for me if I'm looking for an RPG and you can draw your own conclusions.

RPGS: Darklands, Fallout series, Mass Effect series (though ME2 lost a bit for me), Dragonage, Planescape Torment, Mount & Blade, Kotor, Borderlands. At the end of any of these games, I can be completely different to someone else that played the game.

NOT RPGS: Pacman (I mean come on), FF13 (movie with interactive cut scenes, boring one might I add) Farcry 2 (Good game, not RPG tho)

Also, Bioware have my undying love, unless they ruin ME3.
Re: Red Dead Redemption (3 years ago)
I got mine from work. It's paid for but the boss let me take it a couple of days early as long as I didn't book it out in the computer until launch day.
Re: Red Dead Redemption (3 years ago)
Woo, I have my copy of RDR. Played it til 1am this morning, almost pulled a sickie from work! I came home for lunch so I could play a little bit more, now I gotta go back icon_sad.gif icon_sad.gif icon_sad.gif icon_sad.gif icon_sad.gif icon_sad.gif icon_sad.gif icon_sad.gif

I was so tired last night that when I was doing the mission to catch some horses and jump on their back to break them in I misread using the leftstick to maintain balance, and kept using the right stick. I got stuck on one )@*%)@#4 mission for over an hour and nearly punched my screen! I facepalmed when I realised my mistake.

It's bad enough that my girlfriend is scared of spiders, but jeez, you're a man.

I'm not fond of them, and will kill a whitetail, redback or other nasty venemous spider that finds its way into my house but huntsmans are nothing, I let one crawl onto my hand to show my missus they are mostly harmless. Not something I'd encourage as it has backfired on me once before and it does hurt, but spiders are so small how the hell can they be terrifying?

It's great though, I told my missus if she screams and carrys on like a burning cat when she sees a spider she can deal with it on her own, so now shes learnt just to quickly vacate the room and come and get me instead of screaming. She's quite proud of herself and they don't worry her as much if she doesn't panic.
Re: Funny Links (3 years ago)
Lol the deluxe hugs guy cracked me up. Not sure if the whole thing was a setup or not but if it wasn't the free hugs guy is a weirdo. Who would do that?

mrcool37, the first pic cracks me up, kinda like how people can't tell the difference between then and than.

'My car is faster then yours' <--- THAN YOU STUPID FUCKS.
Grats canetoad, I think dickies pay a little commission too so if you're good you can get some nice bonuses icon_smile.gif

I don't get the difficulty in finding jobs though, I get job offers from some of my clients every now and then without even applying. Most recently got offered a position with Lanier which I will probably look at in the new financial year. I'm told that some of the reps there are on about 120k a year...would be nice if that's true.

Well, my stand up comedy career started last night. The next trick is to make sure it doesn't stall out of the gate.

I will provide videos when I have them of last night's performance, but I can do better so I'll probably upload another performance in the near future.
Where did you do your first gig?
I usually just blank vote so I can GTFO as soon as possible, I hate being forced to vote because frankly, I don't give a shit. Regardless of who I vote for it's going to be someone I dislike at some stage and in the end, I'm just 1 vote. It's never going to come down to just my vote tipping the scales.

I hate politicians, they are the worst pretenders in the world, many don't give a shit about other people, just their own political career advancement.
Re: Funny Links (3 years ago)
That little video was pure excellence!
I'm never buying ATI again, I have a hd5970 2gb card and it's been nothing but hassles. The drivers are so clunky it's not funny...
