Yeah Athiss and Hammer station were average. The level 30 2-parter flashpoints (Taral V Rep / Boarding Party Imp) and (Maelstrom Prison Rep / Foundry Imp) were MUCH better and had a lot more story to them then the rest. Quite a few little treats in them too for those that played KOTOR.

Here's a Kinect trailer showing off voice commands that shouldn't need Kinect but for some reason do.
To my knowledge the voice commands are being driven by the software and functionality of Kinect voice recognition. Unlike say TC's Endwar which used their own Voice Recognition software as part of the game so you could just use a normal headset, ME3 is simply taking advantage of Kinect's own Voice Recognition functionality to read commands and integrate those commands recognised by kinect into actions. I remember BW saying a while ago that they wouldn't have bothered with voice commands if the architecture for voice recognition wasn't there with kinect.

Considering all the pre-order DLC was released later on as DLC packs later on i am not going to bother shifting my pre-order from EB to Game for their better pre-order bonus

there's a grace period of a week after early access on Dec 13th (11pm EST) until you need to input the CD code from the physical copy.
Yeah... That grace period that WAS promised is no longer happening.

http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=722366

So i get to play the Early Access and then cut off from the 20th-Whenever Amazon gets it here. Quite impressed they have managed to get that thread up to 180 pages in 2 and a half hours.
Anyone know if GTC are region restricted? I would imagine not. Reason i ask is that Zavvi have them quite cheap for ~ $22 for 60 days. It works out at about $12 cheaper for 6 months of GTC then it would be getting the 6 month sub.
Well i do hope the anime reaches about the same arc that the game will reach before then. The only hope of that happening though is that they stop putting season filler arcs between 3-4 story episodes
Oh no doubt - i am not saying that it is going to exclude those time periods or anything simply because they showed up in Legacy or The Fall. In fact i wouldn't be surprised if it did end up in Russia as The Fall was very well received from what i have heard and Daniel Cross did come up in revelations. Personally though i would like to see Shao-Jun's story wrapped up from Embers and follow her into China.

Thats what i love about the potential for the AC games. Everything, every time period is possible for them to go to with the convenience of using the animus as a plot mechanism to take them there.
Its funny because they have already covered most of those conflicts already through other media - Project Legacy, Comics etc...
My top 5

1. Batman: Arkham City

Personally can't believe that this hasn't appeared in this thread yet. I LOVED this game - it was so close to being perfect. The story i thought was solid enough, it was longer with more things to do and explore and the voice acting blew me away. Can't wait for Arkham 3.

2. Assassin's Creed Revelations

Echoing what was said above - i think this was the "dullest" of Ezio's trilogy but i think it had the strongest story after you got past Sequence 3. I think the MP is improved enough to make me alternate between it and BF3 for my MP needs. However not enough was changed for me to put it above the Dark Knight.

3. L.A. Noire

TBH i hadn't really followed this game AT ALL until like 3-4 days till launch as i wasn't really interested. But the more i found out about it the more i was intrigued and eventually felt the need to pre-order it 2 days before launch. Once i started playing i never looked back. Unlike others who i know have played the game i enjoyed both the first and back half of the story although i did enjoy the ending much. If a game has such a pronounced effect on you that it makes you look at other games and look at their facial animations and it makes you wince - then you know you have played something special.

4. Portal 2

Its Portal...2. Enough Said.

5. Crysis 2

I think this game was underrated. While i wanted to see Nomad's story continued and felt that this was deliberately distancing itself from the first game so as not to alienate console users (which i was quite angry about at the time) i felt overall it had quite a good tale to tell. While it wasn't the graphical system changer that Crysis 1 was that forced every man and their dog to upgrade to play it, i thought it looked great even without the DX11 features.

Honourable Mentions:

From Dust

I still haven't gone back and finished the last 2-3 levels of this but i really enjoyed this game. It was a very interesting take on the god genre.

Deus Ex: HR

Haven't finished it which is why it isn't higher (due to thesis) but from what i played of it so far it at the very least deserves an honourable mention.

(Apologies to my copies of Forza 4, Skyrim and Witcher 2 - i will see you December 25th!).

Who knows though... Come December 20th i might be shaking up my list to include The Old Republic if the beta was anything to go by.
A quick run through of just the main AA storyline should only take 4-5 hours without any real attempt at riddler trophies and side quests.

However i wouldn't say it is essential - but there are references to it that that you might have trouble picking up on as it dosen't offer any lead in from the other game.
@ Benza - You might want to download the Da Vinci Disappearance on Brotherhood if you haven't already as that explains that spoiler you mentioned. If you have then what was revealed in that DLC would give you this in google maps.

http://maps.google.com/maps?q=43+39+19+N,+75+27+42+W&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hq=&hnear=%2B43%C2%B0+39%27+15.87%22,+-75%C2%B0+27%27+12.48%22&gl=us&ei=MuCQTe_WAea_0QGV97moCw&sa=X&oi=geocode_result&ct=title&resnum=1&ved=0CBUQ8gEwAA

Basically without spoiling - that is the spot at the end of revelations and what it is supposed to look like 2012.
Just finished it then. Even though the game is called revelations and it did indeed reveal some pivotal plot points you feel a little cheated as every reveal seemed to raise another question. The ending i felt was very well done emotionally for Altair and Ezio but felt lacking in terms of desmond and TWCB somehow even though they were the focus. The cinematics i thought though were well done.

After finishing up i felt there could have been more things to do with desmond, even though the next game seems to be leaning on a focus with him and i was disappointed about how little 16 there was in the game.

As was said above - the game did feel a little buggier then normal and a little shorter in terms of side quests but i thought the story was as good as AC2 and the main story arc seemed to go on for longer then in Brotherhood and seemed more relevant and had a greater sense of urgency and danger to it which i thought Brotherhood lacked.

Overall while it was "shorter" (I am at 70% total sync and have sunk about 25-30 hours into it) then Brotherhood i think it was better.
Actually one thing i have found pretty jarring is that they look like they have completely changed Desmond's face. Is that just me or does he now look like a completely different person? Or is that just a result of where he is (without spoiling).

hello guys can someone help with the question a asked before it is important I a birthday present for a friend so I need to send it in two weeks please I will really appreciate it thanks in advance
I assume you got the 360 version? Pretty sure they have cut down quite significantly on the languages used on discs for different regions they have cut up to save space on the disc. To my knowledge all Australian discs only have English and Russian on them (although you should get someone who hasn't bought from EB to confirm). If you want spanish, i am pretty sure you are going to have to get your friend to buy his copy locally.

I can't believe they made 3 games out of Ass 2. Seriously cash cow.
BUT.... BUT... BUT... Oh well i guess your right. Personally i would have liked more space between the sequels and a bit more variety - mainly moving on from Ezio at the end of brotherhood but i am still happy to buy it as they still have improved it time and again and the story is solid unlike other annualised games.
Picked up the animus edition as well today and i also thought EB squashed it with it being so skewed. Had a quick flick through the encyclopaedia and am very impressed with the quality of it. Will definitely sit down and read it after finishing revelations because apparently there are some spoilers in it.

After finishing the first 2 chapters i feel weird... It dosen't really seem like an AC game so far although i did enjoy the den defence meta game. Hopefully it picks up as it goes along like the others. Although i have to say i picked up the multiplayer by playing a round to see if it has improved and by George this may pull me away from BF3 for a few months if i let it take hold. The amount of content and customisation options alone, along with much better gameplay mechanics and overall feel make me feel that this may last longer then brotherhood lasted me.

Switch to another tab if you want to avoid slight spoilers and listen to the epicness of the music

GAHHH my collectors edition better come today in the post... Good review although i think when you listed the villians you meant Talia Al Gaul - rather then the other villian you mentioned... AH - i hope that wasn't a spoiler in the review icon_razz.gif

But no - great review, well written and i am glad this game got the score i feel from reading about it so far it deserved.
Re: Battlefield 3 (1 year ago)
I think the 360 with the HD pack looks quite good actually considering it is running on ancient hardware. The non-HD pack looks butt ugly though - if you didn't have a HDD on your 360 you would be getting one just so you could install the pack.

Luckily im getting it on the PC icon_razz.gif
You could just play through the game you are playing now and play New Game + with the catwoman content. Otherwise, yes a restart would be in order.
JB sent off my order today... Really regretting buying the collectors online even though i have a thesis due monday...

Getting kind of annoyed at this limited edition. I could pre-order at EB, but I don't want to pay $110 and I don't know if they'll match prices. I don't know if Big W will sell the limited edition on launch, and if I buy online I won't get it until after the weekend. Might just have to end up paying $110, don't think I've ever paid that much for a game :\
Might not be the cheapest but HN has the Limited Edition going for $78 on consoles.

So is the collectors only delayed on the PS3 or...?

Edit: Just got a reply on twitter - Only the PS3 collectors is delayed.

In other news, Batman Arkham City Collectors Edition is going to be delayed for a couple of days in Australia as far as i know, but pre-orderers are well compensated (this is inside info so i can't get into any specifics, but retailers should have been in touch with people with pre-orders by monday about it, so it should be all over the internets soon). Standard edition game is still on track for being released on the 19th though
Well if this turns out to be true colour me VERY disappointed even if it is most likely a simple distribution problem. Especially since i pre-ordered from JB Online and will have to wait extra time for them to post it out as well.
They haven't said if that edition is going to go on sale or is limited to a competition yet but if it was on sale then i would be all over it.
The first Robin apparently who left to become his own superhero - nightwing who was pretty successful.
Re: Mass Effect 3 (1 year ago)
Said it once when it was rumour and will say it again now that it is fact. EVERYONE rubbished brotherhood for having an MP mode when it was supposed to be strictly an "Single-player" only experience forever according to the community. Well the MP didn't last long but it didn't suck and it certainly didn't detract from the main game.

If ubisoft can do it so can bioware.
