Re: KING OF KIGHTERS XIII (3 years ago)
KOF XIII should not be build on KOFXII. As much as I didnt like the gameplay, characters looked funny too. SNK should take there time and make the game par with atleast Blazeblue if not SF4/Tekken. If they running out of time, I am happy even if they repack KOF 2000.

I think ME2 is more detailed than FF13 sadly.
Re: Final Fantasy 13 General Discussion Thread (3 years ago)
Only thing common between past FF is the name(Final Fantasy) and few other elements(Kupo, moogle, gils, few magics)everything else(game mechanics, gameplay, levelling system, etc) have been different or tweaked for the betterment.
When SE says it was hard to make town, they mean if they tried to do it would have taken them another 2 years. Star Ocean 4, The Last Remnant and Infinite Undiscovery also ME2 they all had town -but do they have HD feel? Are characters of these game in par with FFXIII...no way near close. NO characters or game ever made have so much details(expression, clothing, buttons, skin texture).
If they rush into making towns, we would have got FF7 remake last year
Unfortunately SE believes in quality then quantity especially with main FF titles.

Nomura: Final Fantasy Versus XIII May Not Appear at E3
Quote
Tetsuya Nomura was interviewed by Famitsu this week about Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep. He was also asked about the progress of future projects he was working on. Concerning Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Nomura said that "development is going well, however there is still more to be done".
"From the beginning, the character presentation on the world map was similar to FF* (the magazine has intentionally censored the asterisk parts), where you would see a very small Noctis running around. It was somewhat lacking and so it was altered to be more like FF*’s system.
* denotes a censored number by Famitsu"
Because of these alterations, Nomura is unsure whether it will be ready for this years E3 like he said back in October. He says he has to balance development with other titles he's working on and is currently discussing how they will proceed with producers.

Quality would be very similar and both versions would be using lot of processing power accordingly.

SF4 for iPhone

Capcom brings their biggest brawler yet to one of the smallest gaming devices, announcing an iPhone version of Street Fighter IV, due out in March. How are Ken and Ryu handling the trip?
From the looks of the screenshots, which you can find more of at IGN, the dynamic duo is a little worse for wear, but that's what happens when you take the current-gen code and shrink it down so it fits on the iPhone. That's what Capcom has done, taking assets directly from the game's console cousins, maintaining a bit of the 2.5D look and feel, while utilizing the good-old virtual joystick and button combo to overcome the platform's lack of external controls.
While Ken and Ryu are the only two characters confirmed for the iPhone version of Street Fighter IV, Capcom tells us that they'll be introducing a mix of classic and new characters, so there is hope that you'll soon be able to carry Rufus around in your pocket.
And you'll be able to compete against your friends, with Bluetooth multiplayer built right in.

Square Enix has admitted that some Final Fantasy XIII screenshots it released last week, which purported to show the PS3 and 360 versions of the game but were virtually identical, were "altered".
In a statement to Kotaku, the company said that the screens were intended for "pre-production", "non-promotional" use, and their release was a mistake.
It was Kotaku that noticed that the screens were absolutely identical save for the controller button prompts.
Square Enix said it would release new screens soon, but argued that the two console versions were as close as could be anyway. "Unfortunately we did mistakenly include screenshots taken for pre-production (non-promotional use only) in our latest release of assets," ran the statement.
"Screenshots from the final game intended for the press kit will be released shortly. As shown in our recent demo tour and Microsoft's X10 event, there is no material difference between the two consoles."
North American spokesperson Sonia Im said on her Twitter: "These were not meant to be released as a comparison of FFXIII on the two consoles... Aside from easily being proven as altered, and this method not being one we use, we don't feel there is a need to enhance the X360 FFXIII... This was obviously not intentional."

Details on the game are being saved for a premier event which will be held in Tokyo electronics capital Akihabara on March 25.
Until then, you're going to have to speculate on what we might end up seeing from the game via the logo.
