Yeah, if actual research was done, the article would have stated about 30% of all introduced laws go to an inquiry, so that's fairly standard parliamentary stuff. Inquiries are also not a particularly long thing.
Goober Man should be the new writer then, lol.
By the way, nothing to do with trade value but yesterday in Sydney CBD, I did a pricematch at 1 EB with ... another EB, lol.

As the Splinter Cell Conviction prices are different, one selling $99 but the other $109.95. The first time I come across different prices at different EB stores.

Also I recently discovered in Sydney the best place to ask EB do a price match is probably in Macquarie Centre, so many competitors under one roof, Big W, Target, Dick Smith, JB Hi-Fi, GAME, and of course EB. In the past I thought CBD should be perfect but obviously lacking discount department stores and recently JB seems raised prices for new releases a bit.
Splinter Cell Conviction 360 standard:

JB $40
GAME: $50
EB: $54/$56 ?
Also I got an email from EB answering my question earlier saying if you do a pricematch, you can only get the game but not the bonus preorder items. So either pricematch then game only, or full price and get all items (games+bonuses) as usual.
For the PC version being delayed, it is a pity. But even worse is the always-on internet DRM. I guess this one is going to be like Assassin Creed 2, the console version is the better choice. They don't even release a PC demo. icon_sad.gif

Just saw in the news that the limited edition got a US$10 price reduction due to defective USB drives in some (not all) packages. Not sure if it applies in Australia or not.
Another review Game Informer: 9/10

http://www.vgarabia.com/2010/04/10/splinter-cell-conviction-got-a-great-score-from-game-informer/

Looks like it's on the way to become another high scored game among the many in 2010 so far.

After attending a Ubisoft pre-launch event in Sydney this Wednesday, I feel the game is indeed looking quite good (graphics, gameplay, polish, production value, presentation etc). Quite like the now relatively lengthy in-game cut scenes (within a mission instead of before a mission starts as in the past) and the animations of characters are just awesome (Alpha Protocol's animation is terrible in comparison). Though the game now try to accommodate action fans instead of pure stealth, still I would say you will have an easier life if you choose to go stealth, as the weapons you carry are still no match to the enemies and of course outnumbered as well. 2-player Co-op is ok, but seems the frame rate drop a bit when there are too many actions going on. If there is one thing I don't like, it's those projector style missions objectives shown on the wall/building, sure it makes easier for new players but it's just not realistic/stupid looking... same goes for the last known position display.

Spoiler: Anna is a mole (rescues Sam when he's been captured and being interrogated) and has been lying to Fisher about his daughter, who according to her is not dead but kidnapped?
Re: Gaming Bargains V2 (3 years ago)
Thanks all for the info, yeah that's probably what I suspected, I did get the extra code for BF BC2 from EB after a pricematch with JB.
But for the SC:C (360) you do get a physical backpack which is exclusive from EB Games (and more valuable/useful), so I highly doubt...unless of course paying full-price. Turned out I actually need to buy one anyway (the bag that is). Might worth a try first.
Re: Gaming Bargains V2 (3 years ago)
Hi,
Just want to ask if anyone knows when you are doing a pricematch at EB for a pre-ordered game on the release day, do they still give you any pre-order bonus items (whether an in-game code or more importantly something physical) that you would get otherwise? Thanks.
Or try to sell on Palgn. I always do this if the trade value is low.
I only played the demo of the original Mafia and like it, but it's a bit difficult. After watching a mission walkthrough of Mafia 2 it seems it's easier and of course looks much better.

one thing that I noted in the past was they'd sell 2nd hand titles so cheap, and they're not on the exclusion list so you could simply buy games in Jb and trade them in and get a new one for about $60. its gonna be a lot harder now. There are still 2-3 titles not on there which are all bargain basement prices. I'll see it I can still exploit tomorrow.
Guess what I saw in JB on Friday... in the Sydney CBD store, not sure applies to all stores. They have a notice just below the exclusion lists on the wall and it says they no longer accept 2nd hand games bought from them in order to be traded in for those new releases on the SAME day. I have never bought trade baits from JB then traded back straightaway, usually just from EB/GAME. And before went into JB, I just peeled off all the stickers.
I just saw the news that following on from the success of the series of short films released in the lead up to the launch of Assassin's Creed 2 last year, Ubisoft hopes to replicate its success with a prequel movie for Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier.

The trailer doesn't show any gameplay, but if this one becomes too futuristic like say BF 2142, probably I'll pass. And no matter what definitely won't buy their pc games because of the strict DRM.
With Monday's update the most obvious feature is the debut of a whole page of DS exclusions...lol.
They should really released it for free, like DICE did with BF BC2.
2 old games on PC for me right now, Splinter Cell 2+3 (bought from JB $20) as I have never played them but the reviews for these are quite good, especially Chaos Theory. Might as well testing myself whether like the stealth games or not, otherwise no need to get the upcoming Splinter Cell Conviction, and maybe Alpha Protocol too.
Re: Gaming Bargains V2 (3 years ago)
Lol.
I also heard Edge+ comes with the subscription for Game Informer (12 months?). Though the card costs $30, and no discount on pre-owned games.
Not a fan of God of War 3, but a little interested in Metro 2033.
Might be a dark horse of this year. Very atmospheric.
Used to be a fan of C&C, but now kind of lost interest in the series.
God of War 3 trade value at EB is:
$93 pre-Edge
within the 1st week.
Re: Gaming Bargains V2 (3 years ago)
Honestly doing once should be enough, and now EB doesn't seem to allow same person to trade multiples anyway (even at different stores and on different days), that's what I heard, as they do have your ID when processing the trade. Back then when Modern Warfare 2 is released, there are many people trading multiple copies as EB probably not aware of this. But after their special trade deals of AC2, ME2, BS2 probably many people try to take advantage of this and they try to tighten the system.
And I assume you are not in NSW, otherwise you cannot get a giftcard but have to use the credit right away.
It's true I heard many times the sound effect are incredible in this game, and love the last sentence of the review. I still like COD but this time BF seems to be the winner in this round of competition between IW and Dice.
Just love the competition between rival developers, that's what drives innovation.
Now I am eagerly waiting to see what the new MOH has to offer.
Better graphics (DX11), more players, mouse and keyboard you mentioned, dedicated servers, support for Nvidia 3D, support for joysticks, voip, etc...
Just noticed JB exclusion list has been updated again today March 9th, guessing due to FF13 coming out.
The PC version for BF BC2 is no doubt the best of the 3 platforms, unlike COD MW2 the PC is the worst of the 3.
And Medal of Honor should come out by September, though now it's not yet available to pre-order.
I just saw in the news today that Mafia 2 has been delayed and now the release window is between August and October, same as Max Payne 3.
Too bad the game (OF DR) is not that good, but the price is unbelievable, considering it is still quite new.
For me never used a Nvidia card, always used Radeon. But that's not to say Ati drivers have no problems. Just feel Nvidia don't offer value for money.

More people are in servers on the PC version than either of the consoles. Not surprising really, probably more Battlefield fans on PC than consoles, plus they didn't screw over PC gamers like a certain other company.
Totally agree, and for anyone interested, there is a card in the PC package saying BF 1943 on PC is coming soon with some PC enhanced features, price is $US15.

Just in case someone is wondering, EB is OK to change a preorder to different format as I changed from PS3 to 360 for the BF BC2 yesterday, no problem.
