Re: So, Trophies (3 years ago)
MGS4 looks like it may be getting trophies finally http://www.examiner.com/examiner/x-6894-SF-Console-Game-Examiner~y2009m8d7-Konami-issues-statement-on-MGS4-trophy-patch

Or at least I think that's how I should take their statement?
Re: Football Discussion (3 years ago)
Can't wait to see the new teams, although North Queensland's kit hurts my soul.
The Final Fantasy soundtracks are always killer, but VIII's opening theme sticks out to me though http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_pZ2ibvZb2Q
The comedown from not winning tattslotto after building your hopes up all week is always hard to take, I had spent good time working out which cars I was going to have for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday...
Love the buzz and excitement you guys are generating about this game makes me want it even more now icon_biggrin.gif Been putting in many hours lately on DR PSP to get better in time for 6's release. Only got into Tekken this year but damn it grows on you fast icon_surprised.gif
Tekken DR and Uncharted, both in anticipation of their upcoming sequels icon_biggrin.gif

Heavy as #$%& and the egyptian influences really resonate with me and seperate them from a lot of other metal.
I don't think it's a case of PS3 people being over protective of the system but rather they (me included) feel as though Sony gets the majority of criticism of the big three from the media and gaming community and just want to balance out the arguments when they appears excessively one sided. It's frustrating when you see all this 'constructive criticism' being aimed at Sony while, most of the time, it feels as though Microsoft and Nintendo have done no wrong with their consoles.
All I can think of after watching the game today is "if it bleeds we can kill it" icon_cool.gif
^ Yes I remember that, those were the days icon_biggrin.gif
Best. Game. Ever.

Nah probably not but it has got to be right up there, it's just a shame it wasn't the GF because I doubt if the two meet there that it will live up to expectation this game has set.
Damn this thread is depressing I haven't been to anywhere near as many places as most of you guys, I'd be happy to visit 1 or 2 countries overseas in the next 5 years let alone the dozens being shown off here icon_eek.gif
Re: Is MGS good? (3 years ago)
It's more or less the special edition of MGS2 so yeah by all means get that if it is cheaper than sons of liberty. To my knowledge there isn't any difference in the actual main game just it has tons of extras like VR training missions etc.
God we need Watson and Mcveigh back badly, it wasn't an excuse for tonight but Essendon will be so much better for it if them two are in the team playing well. Roll on St Kilda and Geelong icon_cool.gif
MGS, Gran Turismo, God of War, Final Fantasy, Resident Evil 4, GTA, Tekken
Re: Is MGS good? (3 years ago)
Yeah for sure you should play them at least once. The attachment you get get to the characters and the story is really strong and if you play from MGS1 all the way to 4 you'll have a much greater experience than if you just played MGS4 alone. Of course it's a well made game and it's enjoyable to play but it's not a thrill a minute sort of stuff and is made fun, at least to me, because of it's strong story and characters and the evolution of the two over the main 4 games as well as the attachment you get seeing this. I'd compare it to Splinter Cell and say that they both share the same gameplay characteristics and style but why does one have people finishing it 20+ times (I'm guilty of this too icon_smile.gif ) and has such a strong reputation while the other is just a solid stealth game (sorry about the pun).
Seinfeld and that 70's show have been doing it for me lately. Seinfeld inparticular is just insanely rewatchable, I reckon I'll be watching it still in 20 years time and it'll have me smiling the same way it does now - just awesome.
Finally sorting out accomodation closer to my studies in Geelong. 1 hour trips between said destination and home got old real fast.
Can someone explain to me why the PAL PSN doesn't get things like this amongst the numerous other omissions compared to it's US counterpart? Is it a technical thing, financial or something else. I can't get my head around how big the difference is between the two and what could be causing it.
Watched Akira last night for the first time in years and am really inspired to want to see more anime. I saw it when I was a kid and thought it was interesting but watching it again yesterday it really struck a chord with me and I want to see more of the same. Any recommendations for a fairly green person in regards to anime? I honestly don't know where to begin watching more, the density of directors, styles and genres within the genre is really quite daunting.
Terminator Salvatation

Saw it tonight and my strongest feeling about this film is that it just wasn't really necessary. To me, and most likely many others, the Terminator franchise should have concluded back in 1991. Terminator salvation, like T3, really just goes through the motions and doesn't bring anything new to the table or have any suprises at all. Christian Bale is ok and the film is kinda entertaining but it just doesn't move the Terminator story forward, like T3 didn't, and aside from the gimmicky new terminator character it really lacks new ideas and purpose. I'm glad the film underperformed in the U.S because hopefully now the studio will finally let the franchise be and not try and squeeze anymore out of it.

Playing God of War II. I figured with III coming soon it'd be good to have the first two down and out of the way.
Artist: Sepultura
Song: Spit
Album: Roots

I'm not really much of a metal head but these guys just sound so genuinely brutal and tough it's just awesome to listen to.
Will be nice to play ff viii again if this turns out to be true.

Re: Your newest purchase (3 years ago)
Got a PSP today! Been wanting one for a few weeks now and thought I could hold out until the GO but that was never going to happen so I just gave in and got the 3002. Bought Tekken: Dark Resurrection and Crisis Core along with it as well. Also picked up Mulholland Drive and a Sepultura and Deftones album. Enough spending for awhile now icon_biggrin.gif
Went and saw Transformers 2 last night and it was very entertaining but very shallow overall, which is ok though because I was smiling throughout most of the film and that's never a bad thing. I've always enjoyed Bay films for that reason really because he is genuinely good at making films that the masses enjoy and are entertained by. Having said that I think he could have layed off the Deus ex machina a little as that started to become frequent as the film went on and made me feel as if they were getting desperate to find ways to progress the plot. Still as I said I got a kick out of it and that's a good thing.
