My son is almost 4 and I think he is too young at this stage for a DS or a console.

Wife has said she doesn't want him to have one(a family owned one) till he is at least 6 or 7 and only if he is where he should be at school. I tend to agree as I know how distracting a games system was when I was younger.

Saying that my son does play educational games on my laptop. Memory, color matching etc. Time is very restricted but I think it is very important that he learns to use a computer early and I believe it has helped his development greatly.

He can type his name, log on and shut down on his own. He also has no trouble using a wireless mouse. So I think you just have to smart about the choices you make.
Finished Tron Evolution the other night and got the platinum.

Bought it to fill in the story and I am glad I did. Whilst repetitive the subject matter made it forgiveable. Very enjoyable and can't get enough of the Daft Punk soundtrack.

Oh and on side note I know for a fact that places like HN pay about $15 wholesale for a new release PS3 game, I don't know how you do math but to me that's a pretty big profit margin even after overheads
Somehow I find that hard to believe.

With bookstores taking the biggest hit due to cheap online shopping, I reckon next will be computer game retailers like EB and GAME.
Hence why they push trading games down your throat now as thats where the biggest profit margin is for them.

Got my platinum in Lego Indiana 2 last night.

Easier than Harry Potter and it didn't help that I had a couple of trophies glitch on me. I managed to work around pretty quick though.
I tend to buy second hand games because my budget does not allow me to buy new games usually unless it is far past the release or an insane sale so this isn't good news for me but I can see why they are doing it.

My main concern is that I usually trade games or sell games to fund my next purchase. I never have more than 4 or 5 games at once. So if this means I will be stuck with a game that I can't sell because I have played the multiplayer I don't think I will buy the game in the first place.

Also does anyone else see companies tacking multiplayer onto their games just so they can potentially double dip. I do.
Re: So, Trophies (2 years ago)
Got my Resident Evil 5 plat last night.

Pro wasn't as bad as I thought it would be and just hated having to grind to upgrade all the weapons.

Started on R&C: A Crack in Time.
Re: great YLOD - (2 years ago)
Tough break,

Better back up my data tonight.

Does anyone know if this happens do you lose trophies or do you keep them because they are online?

You did well with Uncharted then, I'm stuck about 3/4 through Crushing mode.

My trophies finally updated after I left it going for a bit, the progress suddenly jumped from 17% to 100%.
Where are you stuck?

I just bought and played Trine this morning, now whenever I go to sync my trophies the progress bar gets to 10% and then slowly increases 1% (about every couple if minutes) at a time. Does anyone know what's going on? I haven't left it sitting around for long enough to finish.
Ever since the 3.40 update syncing seems to take alot longer. Just checked my and I am not having a problem syncing, took about 10 seconds.

As for trophies recently got the following Plats.

Alone in the Dark:Inferno: Very easy platinum and the game itself was not as bad as I was expecting and I had no glitches which helped.

Where the Wild Things Are: I love playing easy games that I buy for the kids. A simple game to Platinum just some grinding for collectables.

Uncharted 1: Easier than I expected. I was dreading Crushing mode after reading a few things but didn't have any issues at all. No more than 3 or deaths in any tough spot.

Now playing Resident Evil 5 and Lego Indiana Jones 2.
My advice is to buy a cheap blu ray and take it around and ask them to play it for you so you can gauge yourself.

If they want a sale they will do it for you.
Bogans driving Commodores.

Just because I drive a high performance car does not mean I want to drag you in your piece of crap Commodore with mag wheels worth more than the whole car, especially when I have my kids in the car.

Some of us have enough brains to only drive fast in a legal setting.

MORONS!
Re: So, Trophies (2 years ago)
Got my Dante's Inferno platinum today.

Easy as no hard trophies at all.
Re: So, Trophies (2 years ago)
Got my Dead Space Platinum yesterday.

Didn't find it challenging at all. Impossible was tough in a few spots early on as health and ammo was pretty scarce.

Great game though can't wait for Dead Space 2.

Dante's Inferno is next.
Re: Your newest purchase (2 years ago)

Re: So, Trophies (2 years ago)
Got my Borderlands Platinum yesterday.

Found it pretty easy in the end. I thought it was going to take alot of grinding to get to level 50 but I managed to drop into two online games that were at the vault. Level 40 to 50 in an hour.

This annoys me. GAME would be like "we 'had' 10 copies of FF Crystal Chronicles on Wii, someone came in and bought them ALL." ARGH.
.

In the terms of sale on the GAME website it states that it is a 5 copy max on specials it is strange that they do not enforce this in their stores also.
Re: Your newest purchase (2 years ago)
Borderlands PS3 $38 from GAME.
Lego Harry Potter : $68.84 from Big W.
Re: Gaming Bargains V2 (2 years ago)

Now I Cant get a new phone. So much for "Having a phone in case of emergencies"
Isn't that illegal?
Bioshock 2 on the 360. Lovin it so far.

FF: Crisis Core on the PSP. Not lovin the combat system so much but a very engaging story.
The article states 'continued hoon behaviour' will result in your car being crushed. I am not sure what applies in SA but in WA hoon laws for speeding only apply if you are more than 40km/h over the limit. Hoon behaviour also encompasses burnouts etc.

So I am sure its pretty safe to say you will only get your car crushed if you are continuously caught hooning. If you got 10 speeding fines for less than 10km/h over the limit i don't think you need to be worried.

As for my personal opinion these are great laws and should stay in place. It is not hard to obey the law and there are places you can go where you can legally give your car a bit of a thrash no need to do it in the streets.

As for the argument regarding power limiting cars it is the driver that determines how fast the car goes not the car. I own a 315rwkw FPV Typhoon and I still have all my demerit points. Its not rocket science.
Playing through Folklore PS3. Impressed so far if a bit repetitive.
Folklore PAL cover is awesome like the game.

The PS3 bioshock manual cover is the best I have seen in a long time.

The Ultimate matrix collection on blu-ray.

Woot bullet time.
It's like Corey that stupid party boy all over again.

She has now hired a publicist to deal with her sudden fame. Give me a break. The movie 'Idiocracy' is starting to look like the future more an more everyday.
