Decided to get a secondary 'fun' little system for Man. ROOM. Check out the dope styling on those speakers icon_smile.gif

Managed to find it at an antique joint. Turntable is a Dual 1225 idler wheel (needle should probably be replaced, but is fairly clean all around). Amp is a Toshiba SA-400 (it's actually alright). Won't say how much I picked it up all up for, but it's on the bargain side of things.

Overall sounds a bit mid-heavy, but I'll need to try each component separately with my main system to see how it actually sounds individually. Definitely needs that 'loudness' boost flicked on though.

The design is pretty awesome. I bought this (admittedly, for looks to start off with) primarily for mono and lower fidelity recordings icon_wink.gif

Think of it like this - imagine if you order a gin & tonic at a bar, and you ask for an extra piece of lime. I'd get shitty if the bartender told me I'd have to pay extra. Limes are even more expensive than sauce for god's sake.

One of my pet hates is getting charged for sauce in this country.

Not only like the 20c, 30c, or whatever for whenever you buy your meat pie or want to add a little something extra to your min. chips... but the practice has extended across to chains such as McDonald's.

And bought myself a balling summer suit from Oxford - the style came out on like Wednesday last week, and I happened to stroll in just as the shop assistant was putting up '60% Off Everything' POS. Oxford don't usually include their suits in their sales, but not this one. $500 suit for $200.. thank you.

Such is the nature of records! Thankfully for him, it was original pressings of the later records he was looking for, as opposed to the earlier ones. He had been buying the series since its inception, but had slept on the latter ones. Alas, he doesn't need to worry anymore icon_wink.gif
