Community vs Moderators Gaming Night (2 years ago)
Moderators to vs the Community 2010 (Killzone 2)
Helghast and ISA Forces,
Once again we stand upon the precipice, once again we must fight to find who is the greater power, once again it is time for Moderators to vs the Community.
Yes that’s right once again the mighty moderators shall lay down their ban hammers, whips, sabre’s etc for a single night of combat against the community.
On the eve on the 30th of September starting from 20:15 AEST until 22:00 we the Moderators challenge you (the community) to a single night of combat in the arena of Killzone 2.
So far the moderators Rastan_Saga, Toots4you, Diamondsarnt4eva, theshortbaker, Zesty_Nachos and FurySevenSix have chosen to step forward to face the community, but more may soon step forward and join the fight. So stay tuned for updates.
We have thrown down the gauntlet, now whom among you will be brave enough to accept the challenge.
For those of you who are brave enough sign up in this, http://community.eu.playstation.com/t5/Killzone/Moderators-to-vs-the-Community-2010-Killzone-2/td-p/11564483, thread and keep an eye out for further updates regarding this event.
Good luck to you all (you’ll need it)
For the glory of Helghan and the Moderators
Cheers, hope to see you there.

Re: $poons for Words II - Return of the Competition (3 years ago)
This looks like great fun. I suppose I will get the ball rolling then.

Titled this short story - THE SUMMIT
Jack Kamen stood by his window looking out over the city. Rome was beautiful. There was a knock at the door.
‘It’s open’ Jack said. It is Agent Michaels.
‘Time to go’ said Michaels. ‘The President is ready’.
‘Okay. Just a second’ replied Jack.
He got changed and then took the lift to the garage. The thought of going back to guarding the president was a daunting one and the haunting memories that Jack had didn’t help. As Jack stepped out of the lift he could see agent Michaels talking to two of the other agents. He could hear them speaking as walked towards the car.
‘That was six months ago. He’s not that guy any more. Give him a break’ said Michaels.
‘What are the chances that he freaks out the minute we step out there’ replied one of the other agents.
‘I’d put it at fifty-fifty’ Jack replied as he walked passed with a smirk on his face. He continued over to one of the black SUV’s and opened the door. He turned and looked at the other agents.
‘Are we doing this or not?’ Jack said. The lift doors opened again. Out stepped the President surrounded by his advisors. He walked over to the car. ‘Mister President’ Jack said as the president entered the car. Michaels entered after him and closed the door.
The motorcade was rolling. As it pulled out of the garage Jack could hear the chatter of voices over his earpiece.
‘…All teams this is control…The Eagle is on the move…’ The motorcade proceeded through the streets of Rome. Jack looked out the window and could see sharpshooters on the roof of each building. There were also police lining the street. Jacks anxiety was growing. He was becoming paranoid. He counted to ten in an attempt to calm down but it had little effect. The news was playing on the television. A report was being made on the president’s appearance at the summit that they were on their way to.
‘Thanks’ Jack said to Michaels.
‘For what’ Michaels replied.
‘For getting me to come back’ Jack said.
‘Don’t thank me yet’ said Michaels ‘The days has just started’.
As they approached the summit Jack could see that a large crowd of protestors had gathered at the entrance. Barriers and police were being used to keep the crowd under control. The car came to a stop.
‘Mister President’ said Michaels ‘Here we go’. Michaels exited the car first followed by the President and then Jack. There was media everywhere. Cameras, microphones and people. So many people. They began down the walkway that was surrounded on both sides by people. The president would stop occasionally to shake hands with a civilian. But Jack didn’t even realise. He was constantly scanning the crowd for any signs of danger. His eyes fell upon a man. He appeared to be in his early 40’s, balding, and slim. He was reaching for something in his coat pocket. Gun, Jack thought. He lunged at the man and knocked the gun to the ground only to find that it wasn’t a gun but a camera. Jack picked up the camera and hastily returned it to the man with his apologies and moved on.
‘How are we looking eye in the sky?’ Jack said into the transponder on his cuff link.
‘…All clear from above…’ came the reply through his earpiece.
The President climbed the stairs onto the platform and proceeded to shake hands with the Russian president before taking his seat. Jack took his position next to Michaels on the left of the platform. Jacks eyes looked from the rooftops to the windows to crowd. Constantly looking. His gut telling him that something's not right. Or is that his paranoia. His eyes fall upon a window. He sees the blind move. He is not sure wether to call it in. It was probably nothing. No, there it moved again. It can’t hurt to get someone to check it out. He spoke into his transponder.
‘Somebody check the south side building. It should have been cleared but I am seeing movement on the second floor. Fifth window from the right’
‘...Copy. Checking it…’replied the earpiece. Jacks stomach fluttered. There was nothing there he kept telling himself. A voice came through the earpiece. ‘…It’s just a fan that was left on. I got it…’ It was nothing but Jack still couldn’t relax. The presenter walked over to the microphone.
‘Ladies and Gentlemen, the President of the United States’ he said into the microphone. The President rose from his seat and shook hands with the presenter before turning to greet the crowd. He stood there with both of his arms held high waving to the crowd smiling as he did so. Two shots rang out across the square. The President had been shot. Screams rang out across the square. People were running everywhere.

Hey Guys. I am on of the PSN moderators and I can confirm that there are issues with the PlayStation Network at the moment that are affecting both offline and online play. You won't really be able to get online until the issue has been rectified.
