Too early for me to do a list with The Last of Us, FUSE, Metro and GTA5 all to come out.
And still have yet to play Witcher 2, Portal 2 and Deus Ex:HR.
All those games have potential to be in a top 10 for me.

Re: Now Playing.... (3 months ago)
Will be playing ME3 soon once it gets on plus and maybe DOA5 undecided on that on.
Re: Achievement discussion (3 months ago)
Hey, I don't have XBOX but I can still get achievements through GFWL games on PC.
I enjoyed for the most part chasing them on DiRT3 except for any gymkhana related stuff.
Racing the bobsled down the hill in a mini was a fun experience.
got 2 plats last night

Yeah, obviously not going to happen either way. I honestly don't mind all that much but I just want an emulation solution somewhere down the line for things like Journey and The Unfinished Swan.
So I am hoping that Sony will use your PS3 download list and give you free access to games on it on their Gaikai streaming service when it gets up and running.

From my limited understanding, if it was hardware backwards compatibility it wouldn't be much work at all though.

i have only spent $30 on the psn, pretty much for journey and that's it. looking to dump some more cash on there for unfinished swan, but that's it.
the fact that these games won't be available for download on the ps4 strikes me as a bad business decision. having a whole range of available titles in addition to the launch titles surely adds to the value of the console. maybe sony want to emphasise the tech specs early on by showcasing new release software only.

Probably around $300 had a PSN account since launch.
Re: Next Gen consoles looming (3 months ago)
There are couple of PS3 games left I want to play including future releases.
Dead Space
Dead Space 3
FUSE
GOW: Ascension
Mass Effect 3
Remember Me
GTA 5
So I have plenty of time before the PS4 as unless Sony do a global release we will probably wait until next year.
I have been going through my PC games lately making that not played list smaller and smaller.

Re: Now Playing.... (4 months ago)
Playing through Half-life 2 and Ep1 will start Ep2 soon.
Re: Now Playing.... (5 months ago)
Gotta get back to Batman: AC got distracted by a couple of other games but really want to finish this before my PS+ runs out.
Re: What was the last game you finished? (5 months ago)
Finished Spec Ops: The Line, the gameplay was enjoyable but nothing special but I found the story great and enthralling. Played on PC but got 100% achievements FUBAR was hard but looking back it felt a lot harder while I was actually playing it but now it doesn't feel it.
Re: Now Playing.... (6 months ago)
About to start playing Batman: Arkham city that I got free with plus.
Re: I MADE IT (6 months ago)
Yeah I'm still around even though I didn't post much before hand.
Re: Now Playing.... (6 months ago)
It has a samey look and feel.
I found the combat to be similar relying on the auto-combat can get you through most battles, around dozen battles won't be won with brute strength. The addition of trainable monsters is good but I only really used them as support or sentential s (I have dlc Valkyrie lightning which is extremely strong commando).
Level progression is interesting as you can influence what you hp, strength, or magic will end up as based on what you level with big nodes.
It is less linear and at some points you can take different paths, there are more optional tasks and areas that you can explore, but even so I haven't found it any longer then 13.
I preferred 13 more just and that is because I didn't like the historia crux (kinda like the airship/fast travel you have a map and choose were to go), I missed travelling form area to area, I quite enjoyed seeing how areas connected I do realise that because of the time travel angle it would not be possible to have this.
Story wise don't expect any closer, I'm am curious as to see what happens next.

Final Fantasy XIII-2: have to go all the way through this again after losing a 45 hour save with only that annoying lucky 7 fragment to get, tried for 4 hours to get it and the next day my PS3 died, only 1 of the 2 saves I didn't have backed up. Lightning should make quick work of it this play-through at least.
Re: What was the last game you finished? (6 months ago)
Just Platinumed Sport Champions 2.
Happy with the $24.95 it cost.
Went into happy about all the new games added except skiing as I was unsure how it would turn out, and excited for bowling.
Skiing plays quite well with a nice gradual difficulty increase as do all the other sports bar golf and bowling.
Out of these I think tennis hit the best balance between difficulty, holding your hand enough while allowing skill to show.
Golf take a sharp dive later on taking away your putting help which then really challenges your course knowledge combine this with ease it is to hit a slice I found it the most difficult sport requiring the most concentration and practice.
Bowling was the biggest disappointment for the sole fact I found it to easy on the later difficulty levels, it felt like there was little progression. Bowling 5+ strikes in a row was not uncommon, in fact it is easier to bowl turkeys then on purpose try to create a split. I think this is because the pins fell hollow based on how easy it is to knock them over.

Just Platinumed dead space 2.
Game stats
Deaths
Main game 2 casual, 2 hardcore, 7 zealot
Hardcore deaths
Chapter 11: Downhill ramp, First death by crawling stalker, this was entirely avoidable first I rush straight to the bottom get knocked over twice before being slashed to death, things that would have stopped this; not running to the bottom, using the contact beam, the detonator, stasis, health packs. In the end it cost me 1 minute.
Chapter 14: Tiedmann managed get me with his javelin, didn't pay attention and caught the qte to late. lost about 25 minutes.
I had the supernova DLC, and used the detonator, contact beam and plasma cutter to chapter 7 when I added the ripper to my arsenal.
Saved at chapters 7(start), 11(start),13(end) and finished in 6h21m07s, very enjoyable experience.
DLC severed 0 casual, 3 zealot
Time
Casual 6h49m47s
Hardcore 6h21m07s
Zealot 4h27m01s

I played up to chapter 10(Ishimura) in zealot ng+ with the normal weapons before bringing out the foam finger gun, to romp home.
After those two it was clear that zealot was harder, the main difficulty with hardcore was that fear of lost time, you had more ammo, the enemies went down easier and didn't hit as hard.
Overall really enjoyed the game, the story has my intrigued, and loved the lack of hud, I felt most weapons had their pace but some weren't that useful, the atmosphere was top notch, so glad I picked this up even though it was extremely late.

Just finished my second stint of my DS2 hardcore run from the start of chapter 7 to the start of 11. Been using Wolfwood824 hardcore walkthrough on youtube making a massive difference. Just under 5 hours so far the end is in sight I can see it.
Edit
Just finished my third stint of my DS2 hardcore run from the start of chapter 11 to midway of 13. Had my first death lost a total of 1 minute out of stupidity, only around 30 minutes of playtime left.

@spectre: that sounds pretty full on. I regret not playing more of the first Dead Space while I had the chance. I bought it planning to work my way to the second game cause I saw a trailer of it and fell in love with the hud. Looks awesome! Plus, I don't mind a bit of survival horror.

Planning my second save point for my Dead Space 2 hardcore play-through. First save was at the start of chapter 7, I'm thinking of trying for the start of chapter 11 after escaping the Ishimura.
Also dabbling in a bit of LittleBigPlanet Karting.

Got the Plat for Motorstorm RC.
It is a fun little game, reminds me so much of Micro Machines. Well worth the $10 for me.

Got the platinum for Dead Nation and inFamous.
Neither were that difficult, playing through on easier difficultly settings made morbid on Dead Nation quite easy, knowing weapons and spawn points helped alot.
I was a bit disappointed with inFamous’s karma system as it didn’t really change anything much story wise and I also fell through the ground more times than I would have liked.

Regarding VANQUISH:
I just tried the first challenge... Holy hell. The enemies are relentless! However I just need to work out the best weapon combinations and use them for each wave. Unfortunately, once you've exhausted a particular one and the three reload drops worth on the map, that's it. So every shot counts.

That is until you unlock challenge 6, it is the one reason I don't have platinum. It makes the rest of the game with the exception of God Hard, seem easy.
After Five and a half hours and some aching arms I finally have the X1 (only bronze).

Were the settings I used.
It has got to be the most unforgiving game related thing I have ever done.
I started of with Suzuka first which I found the pace relatively quickly but could't put two laps together all up I think I only actually completed it 4 times.
Nurburgring GP was next which I completed to laps quiet quickly and was able to do the first lap regularly but most Of the time I couldn't perform on the second lap.
Monza was last and the the challenge here was completing the first lap which I only did 4 times before finishing it.
It did it in that order due to difficulty read on Gtplanet and hatred of the tracks.

Re: Mass Effect 2 PS3 Demo (2 years ago)
Definitely, got the first one on PC but after seeing all the DLC come out for it decided to want to see if they would bring out a GOTY/complete pack and looks like it paid off.
Don't have the bandwidth to download the demo though.

Just finished the first b-spec endurance at Grand valley with only two drivers, I put them in the formula gt so even with no energy left they were still quicker than the competition.
Those set of corners just before the first tunnel gave both of them so much trouble from the word go though as they would constantly drop the right front onto the grass and spin out at least once every three laps by the end of it that section was more skid mark than road.
