Phreakuency, you need not be worried as this is definitely the best looking resistance game to date. The use of lighting is especially effective. Insomniac have put the lighting to really good use in building tension. In several places they use light and shadow to alert you to the presence of things which you can not see directly.
Cian, makes you want to weep doesn't it?

Jarrod, Dungeon Crawl have it listed for $63 and Play-Asia have the US version for $49.

I already have a PS3 but it is good to know if it ever dies on me and I need to replace it the price is more affordable. It would be nice to have a price comparable with the US but honestly how often does that happen.
Good move having them develop the Sly Collection first to ensure they are very familiar with the original games. Of the original games I've only played Sly 2 and I loved it. I'll have to try and grab a copy of the collection before this hits.
I haven't seen any mention of what has been done to improve the security of the device. While a lot of people love the homebrew on the PSP it did seem like piracy really cooled developer support for the PSP. Personally, I hope Sony can keep the PSV from being hacked so that developers have more incentive to release quality games on the platform.
U3 looks fantastic. I do hope they put in campaign co-op but either way I'm psyched for split-screen in the 3 way 2p team deathmatch.
Re: Hands-On with Kinect (2 years ago)
In any of the games was it possible to move your character in an arbitrary direction? It just seems like the Forza demo was the only thing I've seen where movement was shown. And that was controlled with leaning which seems awkward at best. Movement is a pretty fundamental feature in many games and yet it seems to be completely missing from Kinect games.
Would you rather old games remastered over a new game? I'm delighted to see a R&C game with co-op. As much as I would like to see the PS2 games remastered (even though I own all of them already - except the PSP ports) I would much rather have a new game.
LBP looks absolutely amazing. Given some of the insane stuff that people did with the first one, I can't wait to see what comes out of the second.
I wish I could have been there. Perhaps then I would understand why everyone is raving about Nintendo's game lineup. I can see how it is a love letter to their fans but for someone who isn't already enamored with them Nintendo's endlessly rehashing old franchises and characters holds little appeal.
I am likewise only a few hours in and it is great. I have been doing all the Extra Ops as they turn up and trying to recruit as many soldiers as possible. A lot of what I liked about Portable Ops has been retained and improved. The review was a bit negative about Portable Ops but I remember it pretty fondly.

It is a shame for us PSP owners that we aren't getting a revamped version of Snake Eater too. Maybe once Konami finishes the 3DS version. I was trying to play recently on my PS3 (via BC) and I couldn't get into it. I wanted to try and play the MGS games in order of their chronology but I had the original version and it was just too much effort fighting the camera and the controls.
They probably picked Sly because it already had 3D elements and Sony are really pushing that at the moment. It may also be to get more attention on Sucker Punch and therefore infamous 2.
Re: XCOM Debut Trailer (2 years ago)
I wish 2K all the best in their endeavours and I hope a lot of people enjoy their hard work. But I think I shall buy the original from steam and give this version a miss. I just don't see what I loved about X-COM in this one. Maybe they will change my mind but right now I am doubtful.
Play-Asia lists the US release of Valkyria Chronicles 2 as August. If the US gets it before we do, I will definitely be importing it.

Will be interesting to see how this all plays out wrt sales and success.

I look at Move in a similar way I look at my driving wheel. There are a few games where the driving wheel makes the experience and I don't want to play with a standard controller. But there are lots of games, including driving games, that I don't want to play with the wheel. I feel it will be the same with Move.

its a Sony owned studio.
Yes and no. The PS3 version was made by United Front Games who are not owned by Sony. The PSP version, however, was made by a Sony studio. Maybe Sony will buy them out like it did with Media Molecule (makers of LittleBigPlanet).

Great game. Lots of fun especially vs a friend in split-screen.
Agreed, that jetpack looks good.
Re: Killzone 3 details (2 years ago)
Can't wait for more info on this. Guerrilla have impressed me a lot with their games as have Naughty Dog.
Twelve games for $80, $6.67 per game is potentially quite good. I'm a bit picky so picking "from a choice of “two to four” every month" might not be enough.

Streaming music doesn't appeal to me. I already own music that I like. But if this means all games will support custom soundtracks, that news would make me happy.

Will have wait and see what the actual price is and what is included before I can make an informed decision. Hurry up E3 we need answers,

I'm not sure about the SDK, but just about all Source games use some of the same files, so if you buy another Source games you will have a lot less to download.
Thanks for answering my question. That is what I expected but I didn't want to find out the hard way that my expectations were wrong.
I just installed steam last night. Yes, I am late to the party. But when I went to download Portal it said it was 5GB. Steam said that Portal includes the Source SDK and other things. If I bite the bullet and download Portal does that mean I don't have to download the Source SDK again (aside from updates) with future Source games?

Can you recommend some places selling it cheaper than in the AU el_rezzo?
Play Asia has the Asia region versions for $40 USD (not including postage).

However, if other games released better versions in a year or so (not including Game of the Year versions) that made the game I owned redundant, I'd be equally annoyed.
Fair enough if you don't want to buy into yearly iterations. Just bear in mind not everyone will feel like you do. I like that you brought up Call of Duty as an example so I will use it.

Call of Duty - 2003
Call of Duty 2 - 2005
Call of Duty 3 - 2006
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare - 2007
Call of Duty: World at War - 2008
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warefare 2 - 2009
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2010

Despite being preceded by yearly iterations for several years MW2 went on to sell fantastically. I think there is a place for yearly iterations of games and I am looking forward to getting my copy of SSFIV to replace my copy of SFIV. That said, I think it is important consumers know how the release cycle of a game will affect what they are buying.
Re: Wii price drop (3 years ago)
Have they dropped the price worldwide? Or just here in Australia? Speculating about new hardware is a bit tenuous if they have only dropped the price here.

I think grim-one is more likely to be right. Using Amazon for prices and xe for conversion, in the US the prices is 200 USD (218 AUD) and in the UK the price is 160 GBP (266 AUD). They are probably using the stronger AUD and low manufacturing price to drop the price to stimulate sales. The question is why? Slowing sales seems likely. If we had official sales numbers, it would be easy to confirm or deny this.
I hadn't realised Fat Princess Fistful of Cake was coming out now... shame on me. It seems the price on the PSN is much cheaper than the disc based retail price. Can anyone confirm the download size?
Cheers. I downloaded the trial for MvC2 but stopped short of buying the game. Might have to change that before the price goes back up.
Did we get the price reductions on Marvel vs Capcom 2?
Is there any way we as consumers can encourage GfK to release sales numbers rather than just rankings?

Actually you do, the code is inside the ps3/blu-ray cover - thus you're also getting a spare case (i've used 2 of them as spare covers for cds i've copied).
Huh, that is kind of handy. I've got a couple of game discs that don't have proper covers.
"$30 PSN points card: $30" don't know whether this really fits the term bargain.
