The other thing is, if a country has an official religion (Australia doesn't) then I have no problem with them making policy decisions based on that religion. If there is no official religion, then policy decision ought to be kept seperate from religios views, and more in line with what the people want.
Finally, in Australia, keep legality and religion seperate when talking about Gay marriage, IMO. Make it legal, but also include a bit that says If your religion doesn't believe in gay marriage, you don't have to let homosexuals get marries in your church/mosque/whatever.

Boss fights are usually very anti-climatic. I'm struggling to remember one that won me over. Castlevania Symphony of the Night had great boss fights actually, but that's my fav game of all time!

the way that it had several stages, each one requiring different techniques, and yet they're all techniques you learn during the game. It also strips you of all your powers, but you get them back slowly as the fight progresses. There are also a couple stages that require you to actually do something a bit different from normal. LoZ: Link's Awakening has a similar memorable boss fight. Both are TOUGH battles.
Re: Nintendo 3DS General Discussion (1 year ago)
2D sprite LoZ game? Hell yes. Just replayed Link's Awakening, and still think it kicks the pants off any of the 3D ones.
Re: Borderlands 2 (1 year ago)
Hope they haven't entirely forsaken Indie/alt rock for "Wub Wub". Cage the Elephant elevated the first game from "Really really good" to "Utterly fantastic". Still, love the trailer.

Oh yeah, I understand WHY Resident Evil games are made as they are, it's just not a style that works for me.

The patch that they threw on skyrim is not helping either....before the patch the dragons looked fine to me, now the textures for them don't have enough time to adjust to the distance they are from you, giving a lot of this

Saw plenty of that yesterday and didn't get that at all before.

Anyway, can I put an entire series here? I've never played a single Resident Evil game that I actually liked. Aside from those damnable doors, nothing in the PSX era games was remotely scary, even to my 10-12 year old self. The gameplay then was kinda boring, and I hated the camera (RE1?) at the time.
I'll be honest here, I haven't had a look at RE3 or RE4, because I didn't enjoy either of the first 2 even a little bit. I did play a bit of RE5 though, since I found it for $8 at a Game "we're throwing everything out" super sale. Couldn't even be bothered to play through the first chapter. I hate things like not being able to move and shoot at the same time, and the extremely limited ammo. Also, the zombies were just kind of uninteresting.
Oh, also, they jump on you, basically killing you, but you have a chance to magically recover? Makes sense.
I even tried the demo for Revelations recently, and thought that was pretty crap too. There's just no fun involved in walking around slowly waiting for things to jump out at you. Hell, if a Zombie/ghost/ghoul/mutant jumped out at me, I'd be fucking sprinting out of there, not turning slowly hoping it didn't jump on me.
I thought for a while that it might just be the whole Survival Horror thing is just not my thing, but I played and enjoyed FEAR 2, I thought the atmosphere in that game was fantastic. I also like most stuff with Zombies in it, so really RE should be something I enjoy, but I just can't get into it.
Re: Theatrhythm Final Fantasy (1 year ago)
did... did they really do that to the chocobo theme?
Not sure if like. I mean, I like some metal, and I like the chocobo theme, but i'm not sure the two quite work together.
EDIT: Like this one a bit more.

Any overall impressions of the 3DS guys? The 5 hour battery life so far is being a huge turn off for me.
Whenever anybody asks questions like this I just ask them to think about how much they like Nintendo IPs. Would you buy Mario? Mario Kart? Zelda? etc? If the answer is no then the value of the 3DS decreases significantly, as majority of the best games on the platform come from Nintendo. Not all, but majority.
Re: Theatrhythm Final Fantasy (1 year ago)
I just wanna play 13 remixes of the Chocobo theme.

Credit where credit's due, Roland, this is the one thing you have done well at PalGN. Thanks for your work on the campaign.

AH right, fuck it. Double post. Anyway, all y'all who have joined Supercoach should join Supertipping as well. I've called this private league Rocket League because PalGN won't likely be around much longer.

Would it be unreasonable to have a 'goodbye post' forum?
It seems like 80% of active threads are for this purpose. I'm not sure if that's something to be happy or sad about.

Actually it probably won't matter anymore, because it was based on purely the front page content, and I've only just realised what happened to that
Re: SUPERCOACH - PALGN league (1 year ago)
Dude, you have 800K left. Why not upgrade a couple players? Extra couple hundred points a game for basically not much loss. The whole reason you pick rookies is so you can have more guns at the business end of the season, so why not have the extra Guns from the start?
EDIT: Here's my initial side.
Not sure if I have the right rookies... but I guess it's all a guessing game, right?

Shadow, if you can get to the EB on Swanston street, you can try it out upstairs, at the Nintendo Experience.
The first half of the game is really easy, but some of the Special World levels towards the end can get a bit frustrating. Some levels require sprinting and precision all at once...

Re: Games Nobody Else Loves But You Do (1 year ago)
This Is Football, i think it was 2002. When everyone else was playing Fifa and Pro Evo, I was playing this. I'm no longer really a fan of soccer games, I prefer Arcade sports games to Simulation type sports games, so TIF was the one I played. It had all the tiers of each domestic league, it had fully fledged European and Asian club cups, and it was fully licensed. Fifa didn't do this at the time. Sure, as a sim it was far less accurate than Fifa, but I preferred this over Fifa by far. I guess it's lack of technical brilliance, in terms of realism, made it more fun in my eyes.
Dem power rangers. Awesome job.
Re: Cheapest place for PS3 160Gb and a controller... (1 year ago)
When you say "and a controller" do you mean you want an extra controller? Or is one enough? Because every PS3 comes bundled with one controller.

It's the fact that he bases his decisions based on his religion.
As a high end politician, if your decision is majority based on your religeous viewpoint and stance, you shouldn't **** be there.
ie. I'm all for some sort of gay marriage. Most politicians aren't because it's against there 'religious stance'. Well good for them, but that shouldn't hold as an answer. It's not there decision. It's the peoples. And that is whats those politician **** forget.
