If you can type and if you post on PALGN, you will be a writer. This is a small part of the new community focus drive that we are planning. It's going to be pretty cool.
Does that mean that what used to be known as the "User Reviews" will be the sites main content? Does it mean that literally anyone with a keyboard will be able to be a "writer" without any exclusion or selection process? Will there be any kind of QA involved? If everyone is a writer, how will relationships with publishers/developers be gained/maintained? Will that kind of thing be on a personal level with each writer, or will it be with the site as a whole? If so, who would/will do that? Will the site remain solely at the discretion of Roland or will there be some kind of organizational structure?

Seriously, who the hell would even bother paying for the hosting/server for this place? Is it only being paid for because someone forgot it was being direct debited from their account or something?

All the stuff we're totally doing behind the scenes that no-one can see or know anything about is going really well guys! We promise! It's not bullshit! Guys?!

PALGN is moving servers? Didn't it essentially do that a month ago?

Yeah as grim said, don't think of it as another forum. It's basically this one, somewhere else, with less tyrants (but more regular rants)

Penguins.
Not only do they go full retard sliding on there bellies, but they do it in a m*therfucking tux. They are the epitome of dignified failure.
Also, my favorite animal eats yours Mick, so by playground rules it is more badass-ness.

It's sad to see so many people leaving, especially ones that post(ed) with such consistency and quality as you did Island_Wolf, it seems everyday there was something new and interesting to read from you.
I can't say I know you well at all, but my heart sank a little reading your post here

Re: Can we please tone it down a notch? (1 year ago)
I concur, I've loved this place from my first post and I still love it now. It might be nearing it's end but what's happened is done now. There's no going back so we might as well continue to be the PALGN we all love until the day comes where people leave.
Posting about the situation at hand and Roland/Discosis is achieving nothing except for everyone losing some respect for one another. I feel like all the "anarchy" from the community is starting to divide us from the inside.
Peace out.

Oi you, you better come to the new site, or else, y'know, stuff... and things.

Hey guys, y'know what funny about this clusterfudge? People who rarely/haven't posted for months are posting more than Roland.
It's like all PALGN's acquaintances have come back to town for the funeral.

Re: Readers Questions for PALGN Staff (1 year ago)
I must have missed some kind of debacle with GamerDungeon, nevermind that idea then. Can't blame a guy for not knowing what with the forums being basically impossible to read for god knows how long now.
Re: Readers Questions for PALGN Staff (1 year ago)
Hey fellas been a while since I chimed in regularly, but in response to Nick do we maybe want to use GamerDungeon http://www.gamerdungeon.com.au/ forums as a "Plan B" if we wake up and find PALGN gone? (Also liked that FB page) it would be a damn shame to have this community break up. Frankly I don't want to have to learn a whole new gang of "the usual idiots" elsewhere
I honestly feel like this site has had it's heyday, even if it does improve significantly from where it is now. I feel like we're trying far too hard to hang on to something that needs to die (or is I suppose), there comes a time when we just have to let go.
In other news it took me two 502 Proxy Errors and 15 minuites to post this. What a fudging joke. No smiley.

Wait so life wasn't more important to him when he was d**king about trying to score free stuff that was in no way, shape or form guaranteed? And not even enjoying himself doing it? Wat?
Re: Steam Holiday Sale! (1 year ago)
I came out of the Steam sale pretty good this year...
I got a free copy of Portal 2 and Cogs (Gave to a friend) from the gift pile, also got 50% off Silent Hill Homecoming (Free to anyone who wants, just PM me). Also got 8 coals which I crafted 7 of into Blocks That Matter.
Pretty happy to get Portal 2 and Blocks That Matter, I didn't have either and they both look fun (well I know Portal 2 is).
In the sale itself I got Chuck D. Head and Project Freedom (and possibly Cthulhu Saves The Word, I can't remember when I got that exactly). I was also gifted a copy of Fable by a certain awesome person
I also got the Humble Indie Bundle 4 too so I have lots of extra games on my account, also bought 5 games from GOG.com's sale too.
Saved money, got bunch of awesome games. Winning.

Sooo, the PALGNs haven't been informed of the last caper in my life before but I need to vent this s*** somewhere.
So, for the last 7-8 months I have lived in a flat in a small city near where I used to live. I have been sharing this flat with two girls I went to school with. For the first few month everything was fine, but then girl 1 got herself a deadbeat boyfriend girl 2 had a massive problem with. Girl 1 kept going out with him for a while during which there was regular bitching and fighting between the two girls. She broke up with him about a month ago but the girls never really went back to how thet were before.
Last night both girls had some friends over for drinks which was fine (they were both amicable at this point) went out fine and all, but that night girl 2 got with a fellow girl 1 had been talking to for a few weeks which pissed girl 1 off on an epic scale.
All day today they have been fighting and bitching at each other which ended with with girl 2 leaving the house for a bit (a wise choice) after she does this girl 1 decides she "is moving out" (we have head this a lot before) but this time she meant it. It is 9:30 at night and girl 1 has her father and brother in law at my flat moving every single thing she owns out of it. I have been holed up in my room all day (because screw crossfire) except for 2 breaks to eat and pee, and now I don't have a TV, couch, fridge, table, chairs, crockery and various small appliances that I can use. I also am still only a pizza guy with no money that I can go out and buy these things with...
Fudgenuts!

That has to be the most obnoxious thing I've ever seen. Ugh it pisses me off way more than it should, stupid attention seeking whores. And the worst part is, so far it has 17 likes :\

Re: Milestone + Stepping Down. Yep. (1 year ago)
Sad to see another great writer step down, nice to see you'll still be hanging about in the forums though. Some men just want to watch the PALGN burn I suppose
Re: What really ticks you off? (1 year ago)
Not ticks off exactly but definitely makes me sad.
So I haven't had a regular internet connection for at least 6 months now and as such have only been on PALGN every once in a long while. Now I'm at my mum's house house-sitting for a fortnight with a decent internet connection so I decided to come hang out at PALGN as normal...
It feels like I walked into a town in Fallout 3. Over just a few short months it seems this place has gone downhill fast, apparently with worse to come. I hope whatever comes doesn't involve breaking up the remaining community because if it did... what's the point?
Makes me sad

Re: Socialising: Online vs AFK (1 year ago)
None of the good times with mates that I hold dear ever happened online. I mean yeah you can play games together online I guess, but what do you actually do? you can't go anywhere or do actual things (and no, drinking and clubbing and pubs aren't the only things people do offline) I think a lot of people seem selfish and picky to be honest. It seems like if someone isn't talking about exactly the things you like or do they aren't worth talking to, if you only socialize with people just like you you're probably boring as all hell.
Don't get me wrong, online interaction has it's place, but if there is something going on in my actual life the laptop gets closed every single time.
Also, maybe other people might be more interested in you and thus be able to be better friends with you if the only this you do wasn't sit in front of a computer all day. No one gives a s*** about something that happened online. Every time I see my brother all he talks about is WoW and Reddit. No. One. Gives. A. S***.

Ah, right you are sir Pantsu
Re: Great iPod Touch/iPhone Apps (1 year ago)
I got it, I don't have the downloads to actually get it yet nor the space on my iPhone to store it without losing music, but I clicked "buy" (or get I suppose) and let it begin downloading then just paused and deleted the download, now it's on my Apple account so I can use it later without having to buy even though I can't really have it now.
Also, is the only difference between Rage and Rage HD the graphics? If so I'm happy with just Rage HD but if there is different gameplay I'll also get normal Rage while it's free.

Re: What made you smile today? (1 year ago)
I'm not buying another COD game until I know it's going to played at the LANs I attend. Bought Black Ops on the premise of needing it for LANS and it hasn't been played once, the single-player was good (as it usually is) but it wasn't $80 good. I don't think I have seen any COD game except for 4 (and WAW when it first came out) get any LAN love at all. I started lanning right around COD 4's release so I can't speak for earlier though.
Then again, I did buy DNF on release though so... yeah...
