Surprised that it finally got a release in Aus, but the bad news is that a lot of the music had to be stripped from it for licensing reasons - so a lot of it has been changed.

Linky

That's damned cheap though... I may yet be tempted.
This is why my fav show of all time 'The Wonder Years' hasnt been released.... I'm not sure if it would work without the music... Such an awesome generation of music..what a shame....

I think this is the reason for 'Cold Case' as well...

I received a shipment of Angry Bird plush at work today <3
Lovin it! They played a few of the newies at the Charity concert here in Brissie that I was lucky enough to go to! Loved it!I've seen them before, but this one topped the last one. Cant wait to see if rumours are true and they'll head back later this year.
They're a band that evolves their sound to satisfy loyal fans of old and to gain new ones! Definately a band you can see over and over again and never disappoint!
Just came across this:

http://www.news.com.au/technology/gaming/the-first-australian-review-of-duke-nukem-forever/story-e6frfrt9-1226029523081

Some spoilers...but the article warns you too...explores the Classification Board's review.
The drive from Brissie to Byron you can go through Condong and Mooball just south if the border, if you dont go through the huge tunnel, pretty drive too around mountains =) Mooball even has a strip of cow printed shops and houses with letter boxes <3 worth a stop off for the fresh fruit and vegie stalls.
Knowing that in a few hours, I will be watching a performance by a person who's music/song lyrics helped me though some tough times growing up.
Eddie Vedder <3
Been waiting for a long time for his solo tour, and it's finally here =)
Re: Gigs 2011 (2 years ago)
^^ wow same taste!
I also have Ed, but on Sunday! CANNOT WAIT! He is my GOD!! I've been waiting forever for him to bring his solo show here! It will be my 7th time seeing him, so shall be interesting to see him without his backup boys. Stoked to be able to nab a ticket since it's a little venue. Bummed I could only get the one night =( would've loved to see him multiple nights, but alot of people missed out =( so I shouldn't complain.
The following week I have Stone Temp with Grinspoon, which will be awesome! I haven't seen STone temp, but seen the Spoon on many occassions, and no doubt be fantastic! So many great bands! Gonna have withdrawals...I am contemplating buying tix for Birds of Tokyo, but i have an overseas adventure in late august to save for.

gambit, I'm so jealous that you saw the Sevendust and Stone Sour sideshows. I wasn't in a position to be able to travel down. Although I have seen them both before years ago at the old Arena (miss that place =( ) They certainly know how to please a crowd! I heard Sevendust didn't play for long though...no longer than what they played at Soundwave.
Re: Gigs 2011 (2 years ago)
Pixie's Soundwave:

Sevendust <3 even though they only played 8 and a bit songs (they did a montage of Pantera's 'Walk' and Metallica's 'Master of Puppets') LJ just likes to chat (passed on well wishes regarding the flood etc) and so do I when I've seen them in the past, but they only had a 40 min set.... Wished they did a sideshow here in Brissie =(

Had a bit of time before BFMV, so lunch under a tree with Rise to Remain, which was new to me and pretty good.

Bullet for my Valentine was next...they had a few sound issues with the staduim speakers not working for the first couple of songs....But rocked it

Stone Sour... Nailed it!!! LOVE THEM! Corey's voice just improves over time! I must admit, they included the slowest songs of the bands i saw, with 'Hesitate' but stoked with their set. Even though they left out 'Bother' . I've heard they haven't really played it much since Paul Grey died. Bummed they didnt do a sidewave either....
So gutted....Sevendust AND Stone Sour did two together...in Sydney and Melbourne icon_cry.gif YOU BASTARDS!!!

Then time to grab a few drinks and chill for a listen to PRIMUS, which was a welcome change of pace. icon_biggrin.gif So glad i caught them.

A few more bevvies where consumed while witnessing SLASH do his thing..And he delivered! Stoked with the GNR's tracks he picked for his set. Had a teary with my mates in memoriam of a dear friend who past away last november. His presence is always missed, but especially when 'Nightrain' and 'sweet child of mine' was played.

Now 30seconds to mars....Not much of a fan, but i stayed with my girl while our boys went to mosh with Slayer... Not bad, the sound could've been better.

My boy said slayer was good. Lots of people, should have been on a bigger stage. The sound was crap apparently, he was side of stage pretty far back....
Meanwhile I found myself nigel no mates (ditched for mosh pit of QOTSA, which clashed with my next must see) watching One Day As A Lion. Was pleasurely surprised. I wasn't familiar with them. And was trying to place the voice, when a I overheard a comment on who it was. I am a fan of a few Rage Against My Machine songs and found myself bopping to Zack doing his thing.

Finally my boy and mates met up at our meeting point to go over to the stage where my day was made and was my highlight... ROB ZOMBIE!
Been wanting to see this man forever, and the wait was worth it! He definately didn't disappoint. Only bummer that he only had an hour. This man is the king of metal/rock/hellbilly/whatever the kids are calling it these days. The stage was set up with huge screens with footage of topless ladies jiggling their boobies (which doesnt surprise me) and people covered with blood, leather and spikes. Loved every second of it and depite his age hasnt lost his appeal, that's for sure! He had a chat about the Brissie ladies, floods etc. Was worried that he hadn't played Dragula and was wrapping his set up and spied the next band was already on the next stage ready, when he came back to give us a climax! IT WAS EPIC!!! DRAGULA!! DIG!! BURN!! SLAM!!! \m/

Last but not least, Iron Maiden.... took us awhile to file back into the arena for these guys. I was impressed how much energy and rocking these guys still have! Played alot of their new stuff which i was unfamiliar with. But they rocked, the whole day rocked and I'm so glad to be witness it all!
Made the best memories icon_biggrin.gif and must admit was 'doing it tough' knowing this day was being repeated down south the following day and week...But grateful that we had no cancellations.
Cannot wait!! Definately day one for me too!
Wonder if they are going to release a demo, just to tease me a little until then.....
Re: Killzone 3 Review (2 years ago)
^^ same! I really struggled with the controls on KZ2. Frustration won and I gave up not too far into it.

Great review. Hope I can adapt to the controls better in this one. And maybe even give it a burl with the move as well.
Is it just me, or does anyone think this was a ramdom game they choose to RC? There's quite a few games in the shops now that in my opinion should be R18+.......
At least this has put the issue into the media circles again.
One more sleep til SOUNDWAVE!!!!!!

@ theory: fair enough, and i usually don't. But i found it offensive and malicious. I won't repeat it, but it's doing it's rounds on FB apparently. It's just this disaster is close to my heart and after everything going on lately, it made my blood boil.
"Straw that broke the camel's back"
^^ i realise that...I laughed at a few things and joked around during the clean up here.... I get that....trust me it wasnt a "coping humour joke'
Hearing a NZ earthquake joke........ already icon_evil.gif

FFS they are still digging people out! Amputating limbs so they can carry them to safety, minutes before the area caves in around them! Survivors seeing families/friends/workmates being dragged out dead...or watching them die by a shower of debris....rescuers having to choose which one to get out first...injured and trapped ones telling them to take others first sacrificing themselves....children who were at school when the earthquake(s) happened and waiting to be picked up, not sure their parents are trapped or worse dead. Families and friends waiting outside their loved one's workplace, which has gone up in flames, praying for a miracle....

It is not funny....would you be making jokes or be laughing if it was here? Were you laughing when it flooded, watching the footage of Toowoomba, Gratham and the surrounds? People like you dont deserve to breathe this air that now a poor soul doesn't.
^^ it's listed on my work's Radar list for 18th March =)
^^ agreed.... Although I just hope others will realise that in years to come... Couldn't be worse than Apple

@ The Answer
I've been the best friend.... I was jealous. Not because I had feelings for my friend, but because I missed him. Obviously the time we spent together was less, and well it bothered me because he paid me alot of attention. And I loved it cos I was single.... I guess we were each other's"back up" so to speak. I didn't like her at first, cos she didnt like me..because he was dropping me into conversations only to see if she wanted to get to know me better. Looking back I guess she was jealous of our history, our bond.
They are married now...i think...we've lost touch..but that's life.

She will get over it... She will see how happy the GF makes you and this will make her happy...well it should..if not i guess that means she has feelings for you....or is selfish....

I can't tell you how your friend feels, but just thought i'll share my story cos maybe it'll help =)
^^ yeah we did feel like we were on show... But they communicated well with us. We weren't on a lease at this stage. The landlord did notify us towards the end of lease with their wishes to sell the property. They even gave us the option to make an offer first, before they put it on the market. We were a long term tenant, so I guess they felt obligated to. We were allowed to stay month by month since we were looking elsewhere anyway. But looking back they were probably grateful to have some $$ still coming through.
It was a great place and my partner and I have a twinge of regret...but meh we're well travelled now =)

@ benza and jarrod no unfortunately.....as long as the times are reasonable....i had people every thursday and saturday for 8 weeks.
Don't think, in vic at least you have any recourse over that one....pretty sure i checked.

Quote
The landlord can enter if they give the tenant 24 hours written notice, in order to:
carry out duties listed in the tenancy agreement, the Residential Tenancies Act 1997 or any other Act
value the property
show prospective buyers or financial lenders through the premises
show prospective tenants through the premises (within 14 days of a current lease termination date)
verify a reasonable belief that the tenant has not met their duties as a tenant
make one general inspection in any six-month period, but not within the first three months of the tenancy.
The notice must be hand delivered between 8am and 6pm or posted (allowing extra time for postal delivery).

The landlord may enter between 8am and 6pm on any day, but not on public holidays. If the tenant is home, they must let the landlord in, providing the appropriate notice has been given or agreement reached.

The landlord can enter the premises if the resident is not at home, providing that suitable written notification has been given. However, it is recommended that the tenant is at home during a landlord visit to avoid possible disputes.
i was waiting tapping a baseball bat in my hand glaring at my game collection though
HHHMMMMM interesting.... The landlord at my last place decided to sell and we had perspective buyers through nearly daily...which was a real pain cos we had (wanted) to keep the place spotless ie no dirty dishes or washing on the line etc. We did have a notice of entry in our letter box every afternoon though. They must've dropped them off since we were close to the real estate office.
The 8am to 6pm humours me...i was home at the time of one, 7ish am and i was just hopping out of the shower...heard knocking then the door open...He bought the people upstairs first....awkward.... icon_redface.gif Who show's the bedrooms upstairs first? I thought the living area, kitchen etc would be....since, you know, you enter downstairs....
Best of luck, Jarrod, Hope your day to day life isn't disturbed too much =)

Pixie, going on a primarily male-dominated forum and complaining about a problem that women do not understand is not a very good idea.

You don't see us going on "pretending to be significantly less intelligent that we really are in order to come across as cute" forums then complain that women won't have sex on their periods.

Just sayan (in a lighthearted tone, should you feel like misconstruing my comment).
Oh can i 'misconstrue'?
Well I guess you're right...since i havent read any 'women enough said'
posts here icon_dumb.gif . I thought this was tick u off thread and well it did tick me off and was wanting a little understanding and thought you guys can enlighten me...

So sorry carry on.

^^ ok.....I get that the boys need rearranging occasionally but in public and in front of strangers....female strangers...
Maybe it wasn't rearranging maybe it was a signal? icon_lol.gif
icon_eek.gif so maybe it was attention seeking maneuver? Like how girls twirl their hair or bite their lip? Well if that's the case...the first fiddle was ok but the following fumbles made me think they maybe have something wrong with the region....
there's other options...i mean you dont see girls tweak their nipples for attention....well i haven't....
^^ ok.....I get that the boys need rearranging occasionally but in public and in front of strangers....female strangers...
You guys are soft! <3 SUMMER!!!! Bring on the heat!!

What ticks me off? well maybe you boys can help me....
I had to work today icon_mad.gif which does tick me off but not as much as the fact that i've served 3 guys who have 'rearranged themselves' during our conversations. Now a quick fiddle doesn't really disgust me, I mean it is hot and humid day plus the aircon isn't performing at it's best in this shopping centre, but a long continuous fumble of the dangly bits is a little off putting! One of the three appeared to try and perform a consealed puppetry of the penis by constantly placing his hand there for a jiggle....WHAT IS THE GO??

And another tick off....the Aussie Day (chain) texts i'm receiving this year are a little insulting and racist... C'mon Australia! After recent events, it should be about pride for a country that offers so much.... to everyone......
Just wanted to add that it was my boss' boat that the looters attempted to steal...well I'm assuming it's the same one..they've only reported the one incident regarding a boat.
My boss was overseas with his family on business and pleasure during this madness and cut his trip short and is on his way home now.Their house was in danger but thankfully was lucky and not affected. I havent spoken to him, but I've been told that although they are shocked someone would stoop so low to steal their boat, their first reaction was "is the house still ok? How about our friends',family, neighbours' homes", when contacted by the authorities a few days ago. I think i would react the same way in his situation. Sure it's wrong, sick and twisted, but it can be replaced! Karma will come back to them. And they will live with their choices for the rest of their lives. Shame will be hard to live with in this community after this...I think they will be punished accordingly in the courts. I believe there would be a few judges' homes that have been affected if not everyone here knows someone/s who have...shall be a interesting court room.

But for now it's all hands on deck for the clean up! Removing the destroyed possessions families hold so dear, to help them move on.

Thinking whoever is in NSW and VIC...stay safe.
It's rumoured there's a mass underwater grave at Grantham.... people, families in cars that were trapped and have perished. I cannot imagine what that little community is having to face...absolutely devastating. It hasnt been confirmed yet....

And let's not forget what's happening in Brazil, where i have a friend in the middle of it who has contacted me to see how we're holding up! Bless her!

PHEW!! He's safe! Next?
(a little humour to keep the spirit and hope alive for us up here)

Anyone who has clothes, bedding, toiletries and shoes have been asked to take them down to the crisis centres.
The biggesst request is thongs....men's thongs in particular. So send your spare pluggers people! If they receive too much we'll find some use for them...Thong throw comps FTW icon_biggrin.gif
Also toys and boardgames for the kids to lift their spirit.

And to update on the pet thing....Vets/ pet hospitals/RSPCA all around the higher areas of brisbane are taking in pets. My sister's surgery is nearly out of cages and enclosures to house these, but there are still some who are able to take them! Check the counsil and flood relief websites for the list of locations.
The city was evacuated yesterday...all shops closed and shutdown today...scary stuff! It took 4 hours for my workmates to get home yesterday since they live 45 mins north of the city. I'm 15 minutes from the city but my suburb is not at risk being higher ground.
Since the power is cut in the city and it's in shutdown, i'm not working today. I've tried to volunteer at the community centres, but was turned away and asked to come back later to relieve those who are already donating their time and muscle. The line up for sandbags was about 800m long down the main road at the end of my street, with a wait of around 45mins to fill their boot up.. Hopefully they will be able to return to their properties in time!
My Dad at petrie has evacuated and is now staying with my sister. My sister is working at a Vet surgery and is taking in a lot of pets who the owners cant take to the centres with them. Some of my friends are packing and preparing to move to higher ground...they cant get access through roads to stay with me =( It's evolving so quickly and hard to watch.
My heart goes out to those in Toowoomba and the surrounds. And so proud of all the SES volunteers and rescuers. They are true heroes! Even complete strangers are offering help to move belongings and care to those effected! So proud to be a QLDER!!! Be safe and dont forget..most possessions can be replaced but you cant!
