Looks awesome! Can't wait to play this. Will be interesting to see what elements/other books they incorporate. icon_biggrin.gif I want a level escaping Marlinspike from Bianca Castafiore! icon_razz.gif

Our 3DS cards do not work on the US 3DS store.

And I used my real postcode with a 0 out the front and the payment went through. That was 2 weeks ago, though...
Thanks for the tip - but no luck. "Error Code: 005-6511 This credit card cannot be used. For more information, please contact your credit card provider."

I'll speak with the bank.

I tried to Add Funds to my account - have a US system but using a Visa debit card. Previously, I added $20 when the patch first came out but am down to $2 so went to add $5 [then later tried $10] only to be told I could not charge the card. It's not a case of having insufficient funds so wondering if it's a problem with their server or what. Postcode is set to a US one (since it's for the US shop) but that's different to billing card one obviously. Hmm. Not sure what to do.

And are we getting/do we have 3DS points cards here and would they work for the US store?
Anyone?
I've had every single Nintendo system they've produced. But who knows what happened to my original B&W one? I could get one off eBay sure, but this eShop is part of the system's functionality so I want to be able to use it.

Want to buy Donkey Kong!

I just wish I could find some reviews so I know if I should cancel any of my Amazon pre-orders.

I have ordered:
* SSF IV
* Pilotwings
* Nintendogs + Cats
* Ghost Recon
* Splinter Cell
* Ridge Racer
* Asphalt 3D
* Pro Evolution Soccer

and an Aqua Blue console with the Pull'n'Go Folio Blue.

Not sure about whether I'll bother with Monkey Ball or Sims 3... Steel Diver looks just above average...

I will post detailed impressions of console, games etc when I get mine in 2 weeks. Will actually have RR/A3D in about a week due to them being released on Amazon before the console (weird) LOL
I really wish they would do one focusing on the world of amateur boxing, perhaps collegiate style? Can't think of any games like that.
I'd settle for just the game. Who's with me? icon_razz.gif
I'm in Shanghai. My housemate has set up a Chinese Wii in the living room. Modded and has a hard drive with games on. So I'm thinking it should run any region's games surely? If not tho, I need a place to get Donkey Kong Country Returns and Epic Mickey formatted for a Chinese Wii. Any ideas?
Nothing stopping you owning both. icon_clown.gif
Pass to Dreamworld expires that day and I'm off o/s shortly so will have to give this a miss icon_sad.gif Oh well, it'll be out soon enough. Maybe. icon_razz.gif
Re: Mafia 2 Review (2 years ago)
They didn't have the posters either. JB didn't have the Greaser codes yet either.
I love the fact the CD resembles a record. That's awesome sauce right there - would love to have an actual record though - maybe a fan project worthy of consideration.

Pumped for the game - I only played a bit of the original and foolishly let the cars' tendency to not make the top of the hill / their handling turn me off. Was younger and less patient then. While I was able to immerse myself for hours in adventure games, when it came to action themed games, the smallest of annoyances had me pretty much turned off. :-/

Will definitely source the original though and it sounds like the score was great for that too - did it get a release on CD?

I'm writing and directing a film noir about a nightclub singer turned Mafia witness so I call this gaming for productivity purposes icon_razz.gif
Re: Mafia 2 Review (2 years ago)
Don't have one. Anyway, like I said it'll be easy enough to just play iTunes on the laptop right next to the desktop icon_razz.gif
Re: Mafia 2 Review (2 years ago)
^ Realise that but just curious on some points. I'm writing a gangster film which is actually a film noir (black & white, femme fatales, Mafia, corrupt cops, private dicks, car chases, shootouts and betrayals) so will play this for getting into the right frame of mind. And it sounds like they've nailed the atmosphere so the game will be good for this purpose.

La Noire would be more useful LOL but I bet I finish the script before that comes out haha

>1) Nope, though at one point your hair does change a >bit because of something.

Shame. While I did not count on having the ability to have blue mohawks, jheri curls and Afros on my Italian mobster, it would have been funky to go get a cut and have the barber yammer on about sports, the War, women he's dating or something for 15-20 seconds. Or maybe you could sit there for the entire cut with an option to Skip :P

>2) I'm pretty sure there were plenty of save slots, >unlimited I think. I'll have to double take that.

Sounds good. Does the city change much physically aside from the seasons/decade? I'd make sure I had slots after everything though. It would be good to pick between the two distinct times/settings.

>3) Yeah easily.
Just through reloading a saved game or do they have a Replay menu in a similar vein to GTA IV (sorry, I mentioned it! icon_razz.gif)/Chinatown Wars?

>5) Yes. Tested this myself. I wanted to see how the >physics play in a park with a hot rod.
Excellent. Adds some longevity then since we can roleplay a bit. Wish you could date some 'dames' though after the story missions had been finished though. Not to the extent of having them ring up all the time annoying you but given the period this is set in, it would be a heck of a lot more fun than doing it in the relative soullessness of Liberty City or the rather empty San Andreas.

>6) No custom music, just the soundtrack they give >you. Would be interesting to blast Infected Mushroom >60 years before they existed though.

Aww. icon_sad.gif I guess it's that thinking that had them leave the option out, so the integrity of the environment was maintained. But I would have kept it to period music. I actually have mostly different user tracks for San Andreas to the ones in GTA IV - and nothing that wouldn't have existed at the time! I'll just mute the in-game radio & have a couple of playlists set up on my laptop iTunes instead.

8) Oh well. At least this way the game isn't banned anywhere.
Re: Mafia 2 Review (2 years ago)
1) Can you change your hair at a barber? this would be great at escaping police
2) Is it one save slot, limited or unlimited?
3) Can you replay missions?
4) When it finishes, do you have to load a save game to free roam?
5) Can you hit, shoot or run anyone down?
6) Any custom radio station function? Would be great to have my own 1940s/50s music. Elvis, Nina Simone, etc. And ones from Back to the Future like Johnny B Goode and Mister Sandman.
7) When driving can we do it with the radio OFF?
8) Are children, teens and babies in the game? Not interested in shooting them, it would just add an extra level of realism GTA lacks
Monster Dash, from the creators of Fruit Ninja. Canabalt with guns and very polished.

Zombie Escape from Chillingo. Line-drawing for managing survivors movements and you also control weapons at the same time like bombs etc.
Yeah, so it would be a game sent in a current-gen and better Vinewood and therefore Los Santos in general. Which would be pretty awesome because they could also put in a bunch of coastline fleshed out with tourist towns/attractions.
Re: StarCraft 2 Preview (2 years ago)
I haven't played the original/its expansion pack. Given I won't have proper Internet for the next 2-3 months, and so I won't be doing multiplayer, should I complete the first one or skip it entirely? The only thing is I'm saving for Mafia II so $25 for the SC Battle Chest is a big chunk of that.

Maybe I should just get SCII in 2-3 months.

*sigh*
Sweet. This looks truly worthy of putting off my purchase of Starcraft II. Being that I won't have proper Internet for the next few months, it's not like I'll miss out on multiplayer on that anyway. I'll be downloading and playing the demo the moment it hits icon_smile.gif
^^ Sweet. That's an awesome deal. Better than $74.95 at JB! I wish I could find Blur though.
Is Blur out on PC? According to PC Powerplay which just came out, it is. EB Games doesn't have that or Split Second though.
Re: Alan Wake DLC priced (2 years ago)
Is Alan Wake worth getting a 360 for over a PS3 or should I get a PS3 first for Heavy Rain?
Sweet. The first game was pretty awesome, no doubt this will wipe the floor with the original though. I'm more confident in this series' future than the NFS one, much as Shift was a good step in the right directon. Hopefully the new Hot Pursuit will mean we have two good ones again.
Schweet!
Sounds great. I've been gaming since having an IBM XT as a little kid (Alley Cat, 3Demon, Digger etc FTW!) & have had pretty much every console and system.
10 games? I wouldn't complain about that one bit... but I'd definitely repurchase a 360 (last one was stolen) using some of the credit...

No but they might have been told the answer in case customers ask.
