Yeh ok guys... I think by now you should be used to buying a game and installing then having to download updates, I remember MW2 had updates every single day for a whole week and I bought it on release date... most games are the same.

That's just software development, you'll find any software you buy will most probably update immediately...

But yeah... stoopid post this... as Kerrby said... just press circle and enjoy the game if it frustrates you that much.
See... I knew it was possible... what really stumped me was... why did Ubisoft go and make that gorgeous looking but pittiful effort to re-invent the Prince of Persia series?!

Got GOW collection and loving every minute of the HD gaming of an old classic... the other series from PS2 that is pure class is the Prince of Perisa trilogy, they should totally do the same thing... grrr to you UbiSoft, yay to you Sony and Santa Monica...

BTW... just got GOW3 demo.. can't wait!

Re: PS3 Slim...worth it? (3 years ago)
Yeh... I dont really think there is much difference really... I don't use the HDD space coz of the media server (TVersity or PS3MediaServer)... but being a cheaper is good for Sony... so I've given the phat to my girlfriend, so she can enjoy the media server... get my slim soon... just for the hell of it.

I picked up SFIV LE today, and was just wondering why we didnt get this Collectors Edition
According to EB's site we do get all that, infact we get 2 figurines, not just the 1.

Only difference is there is no Blu Ray Case for the movie.

Correct me if I'm wrong.
yeah we got both figurines, but no blu-ray case like you mentioned and no soundtrack.
Got mine today too... was lucky the missus got it for valentines day from JB... but I'm pondering if it was worth the $140 she paid for it... i kinda thought the figurines would be bigger... and movie is sub par, the mini strategy guide is tiny!!

Being a massive street fighter player myself... favorite being Alpha/Zero 3... the speed and responsivness of SF4 is shocking in comparison... in SF Zero 3, we would be connecting 8 hit combos then finishing with a super finish... extremely exilerating when u see it pulled off and the sheer speed is mind blowing...

I'm disapointed... in my view... they have really taken a step backward, the 3D graphics do not make up for the game play.... whyyyyy!?

Anyone else agree? I get sooooOOo grrr when I see gaming company's do this... I KNOW they are capable of so much more... I blame the global economic crisis... maybe they're not getting paid enough... Maybe the developers they have now aren't up to the job... i dunno...

You can see I'm gutted... wish the arcade version came out here too... would've had an idea what it was like before was purchased.

For those who are new or returning to the street fighter world... its great... you will have fun... for those who have been in the whole series... u may be disapointed!

Looks like i hav to resort to playing the Street Fighter Anthology on my PS2 ( I have a 40Gb PS3)

Maybe I'm getting old and prefer my old games.... I don't know.... would really like to see other peoples views... and I do apologise for my negative comments...
Good idea... got this on Day 1... returned it on Day 4...

Awesome that you can blow up anything and everything (almost)... but got tiresome.. and I got sick of the Dosile American Cow Boy characters... hahah!

IMO of course.

I've been watching and reading with anticipation like most of you... and can't wait to DL the demo 2nite!! Its a shame to hear the campaign is short (unless I've misheard)

personally I feel there is too much hype on online gaming these days... everyones trying to compete against COD in becoming the next big Online MUST HAVE!! As much as I love my games... I don't have the time to master 7 different online games... I struggle with deciding to play COD4 or COD5.. hahah!! It is refreshing to see they've opted for the Battlefield 2 type classes with the medic and engineer tho...

One question... does anyone know if it has the option to change the controls? I know R2 did... and it definetly made it easier to just change to a COD style setup (I'm one of those stick with the one setup type people).
Harder!?!?! Awesome.. if its more challenging... at least a little like the Sands of Time series... would be great!

I liked the ending too, but am curious where this extra story will take it...

Hopefully not too pricey!!

I take back the kidney comment. I looked on ebay and a HDMI compliant monitor is not expensive at all. I thought they were 3 times as much as they are. icon_smile.gif
Yeah shopping around and you can find some cheap HDMI cables... we found some at this local $2 shop... got lots of awesome stuff from China... 3m HDMI cables for $15... my mates been using his for 8 months or so... no dramas.

Of course you can be an idiot like me... who got some gold plated one when buying the PS3 because I was non the wiser... only freakin 1m for $90 from JB... meaning my PS3 is stuck next to my TV... sa'll good... as long as it works i guess.

=P
I agree with the weapons not being fairly weighted in terms of damage... and the grenades too, the tank grenade is supposed to blow up tanks.. so you would expect it to cause some major carnage when thrown at soldiers... not so...

Still lots of fun... the dogs are awesome and frustrating... great inclusion... search and destroy is a favorite of mine... rather tactical... ground war too!
Yeah.. but... I got $45 for GH Aerosmith... which was absolutly SHOCKING!! Only got the pack to get the guitar... coz it looked kewl... but yeah... funny thing was... told my mate to trade it in... he waited, waited, waited... 3 weeks later... only worth $20. Epic fail on his behalf!
Yeh... i wrote in the R2 forum after I bought it... my housemate and I had an awesome time finishing the single player campaign on R1... expecting the same with R2 and was rudely awakened by the lack of such an option. Coming from COD and Battlefield time multiplayer games... the online gaming sux... badly... very dissapointed with this title... single player is awesome... would've been waaay better if you could do a coop campaign.

Oh well...
Yeh... sometimes stresses out, especially when our PC's had a host of applications running on them and they wud do their updates or watever... hence we decided to re-image them and leave it basic.

Router... we had a Linksys and Belkin (both wireless G) at one stage... running in a 2 story house... so 1 upstairs, 1 down... connected by one long ethernet cable... worked a treat.

We've moved into another 2 story house now... but have bought the new Apple router... wireless N (not that the PS3 can use it anyway)... but it covers the whole house... for general browsing and the TVersity network. Highly recommend it... seems to handle the load pretty well.

If you do experience regular drop outs... bring the router closer... at least for testing purposes, and if it persists, get a new router... I'd recommend spending the coin on a good one... as an IT geek... i'd recommend Linksys or Apple.
Re: NEW Prince of Persia (4 years ago)
yeh... the fact that running on the walls is automatic and all that wasn't a highlight... would have made it more complex and therefore fun... here... i litrally did one of the final sequences (long one) without using the analog stick or any other buttons except for X, A and O at the right times...

The old PoP... you'd hav to hold your wall run and jumps and all that... really made sure that you were on the ball...

Oh well...
Re: NEW Prince of Persia (4 years ago)
I know that feeling... and there was this light seed... I think in the city of light... was at the top... had no idea how to get to it... took me an hour to find this power plate I must have missed repeatidly.. hahah! Elika was under pump through that episode...

Still though... those moments were few and far between... breezed through quite easily...
Re: PlayStation Home (4 years ago)
I know hey... hahaha... i can't imagine how much items from the Diesel store will be!

On another note... did anyone goto the theatre and see the trailer for Watchmen? Looks awesome! Their marketting definetly worked on me!
Apologies... just read it again... initial indexing took a while yes... about 20-30 mins for our 700Gb of video...

Updates are fairly quick after...
Yeh, not long... our main server has about 700Gb on it currently of video... wen we dump new files in regularly (prison break, heroes, clone wars, terminator one tree hill... etc) as they come down, we hit refresh... and then walk over to the PS3... and wait for the file to pop up... usually only a few minutes.

I would guess it has something to do with the PC itself... see, since we have our PS3's and laptops... the PC's just serve, we decided to removed most applications leaving basics like uTorrent or Vuze, TVersity and AVG antivirus... havn't run a separate firewall for years now with no hassles or dramas...

One PC is a dual core and no isssues there... but mine is an old skewl XP 2200 (single core), and chugs along like a good workhorse... the media server freezes up sometimes, but I attribute that to her age...

One thing though... the server should be hardwired to the router (most people do)... but if you run the server wirelessly and the PS3 too... it'll drop out alot.
Hi Zhou and all... we've got 2 PC's running TVersity and been running it since the early versions... we've got 3 PS3's (used to be 4) in our share house... and there is sooOOooo much downloading happening its not funny...

Each PC (server) runs a terabyte external HDD via USB. Each PS3 is run wirelessly (prefer to be cabled, but a largish house). And everyone is happy... there are some jitters, which only happen via wireless... but we can't live without this setup anymore... can't imagine life without it... and extremely impressed with the performance, when considering there are 3 PS3's streaming off possibly the same server, sometimes the same file over wireless, streaming a file off an external HDD via USB.

In fact... at one stage we had a 360 streaming off it too with no issues...

Refreshing the server with new downloads is very quick, I beleive it looks for changes and syncs... however changing the encoding settings can improve performance... you can set it to dedicate its encoding for Playstation only, this can reduce the workload on the PC dramatically!

But yep... good article... nice to hear people are catching on!
Re: NEW Prince of Persia (4 years ago)
Hahaha... good point, it is just a game... besides, Persia was a large portion of the world at one point... so you could attribute many backdrops if you wanted to...
Re: NEW Prince of Persia (4 years ago)
Hahah... and interestingly enough... Los Angeles has the 2nd highest number of persians, after Tehran... they pretty much run that town.
Re: NEW Prince of Persia (4 years ago)
Hahaha.. trust me... you don't want a middle eastern accent... hahah!! I can just imagine my dad or cousin's doing the voice over! Hahahahahahaha!! Or like some of the MEC troops from COD4...

And yes... the only real reference to Persia was at the start regarding "Rugs this thick!" which is fairly ambiguous...
Re: NEW Prince of Persia (4 years ago)
Just as an additional note... the attention to detail comment I agree and loved too... but being Persian myself... I realised that when Elika does her magic... she says some persian (farsi) words... and they've really made it sound authentic and ancient.

Like when you ask her for directions, she may say... "Rah Dorost" Which means.. "Straight Path" or "Right path"... many other ones I understood too.. like "Dasteh Ormazd" means "Hand of Ormazd" (When jumping off power plates)
Hmmm... I have to say... I'm extremely disappointed with R2. Can't do the story in coop mode... which was an outstanding feature of the first one... and Online is messy and seems rushed in its release.

I'll be playing only the single player and trading for something later... still havn't found anything remotely close to COD for online experience. Even COD you can do the story in coop... tsk tsk tsk Insomniac!

I'm sure there's contrasting thoughts on this... but thats mine.

Enjoy!
Hey all... finished 007 and Prince of Perisa and traded them for Resistance 2... ended up EB owing me money after they price matched Big W's advertised price of $84.

Anyways... looking forward to coop campaign with my housemate... and I'll see ya'll online! Muahahahahah!! (I'll most probably be the one with blood pourin out my head, and limbs missing... hahah)
Re: NEW Prince of Persia (4 years ago)
Yep... just finished it, and I agree with the person who posted before... a tripped out ending I have to say... definetly worth the purchase!! Can't wait for the next one!

Re: NEW Prince of Persia (4 years ago)
Because, I don't see myself playing it again... it'll gather dust, while it'll still be worth a pretty penny for trade in (just business really). Plus I didn't find any difficult setting, contrary to the SoT Trilogy... I do and have returned back to them to finish on harder difficulty.

I didn't mind Uncharted however that too warranted a trade in once finished.... if you get my thinking here.

I know people like to keep their favourite games, I'm one like that too, but with no online, coop or additional gaming features... time to move on.

8/10 for looks and story line and the innovative talking concept... can be improved, but a really good platformer/adventure game. Yes perhaps I'm being generous, being a UbiSoft and PoP fan... possible a tad bit biased... but I stand by it.
Re: NEW Prince of Persia (4 years ago)
Yeh Sin, I get what you mean... but I'll be finishing the game 2nite... something uneasing about actually knowing that about a game... Definetly worth the purchase... definetly a whole bunch of fun... but doesn't warrant me keeping it unfortunatly (Contrary to the SoT trilogy).

I'll be trading PoP and 007 for Resistance 2, 2moro...

8/10 is my rating for this game.... happy gaming!
