Re: Gaming Bargains V2 (3 years ago)
Just went to GAME and they are selling the DJ Hero Renegade edition for $99 in store! I was advised they are getting more stock on all formats after christmas. Bargain.

The Samsung firmware can be updated on models with USB ports. Go to samsung.com.au, the model's page, downloads, firmware.

Extract the ZIP to a USB stick and plug it in, then turn the TV on. There's instructions on the page for each kind of TV that supports it.
Just a quick random side note to this. Make sure if you are going to update your TV's firmware you use a USB stick and not a portable hard drive that draws its power via USB. Apparently if you plug one of those into your TV's usb port, things happen that aren't very nice (that's what I read anyway, I don't think I'll try it with mine to find out.) icon_smile.gif

I'm with iiNet and they are really good. Especially with the Xbox 360 as all the gaming and downloads are unmetered which is great for downloading the demos and DLC (also great if you get capped as you can still play over live).
Not all usage is free, it says on the iinet website that because you are playing others from around the world that some will still come through as either peak or offpeak.
Yea I understand that but I haven't ever had any of my xbox live counted to my quota, gaming or downloading DLC. They would put that up there to cover their arses, so if any Xbox LIVE gets included they can then say "we told you so, it's not our fault".

I've only done work experience in retail and this was back in 2001.

So my retail work experience was at a Big W and I got asked while wearing a full Big W uniform with a Big W name-tag and hat if I worked there.

I mean, sure if you can't see the name-tag with my name, yeah ok.

But the hat has a huge Big W logo on it, it's as wide as your face... on top of my head.

"Do you work here?"

*I smile politely at them*

"No."

*I walked away*

EDIT: Hahaha, awesome Zhou. We have the same stupid thing. icon_y1.gif
I get this all the damn time......... Usually when I'm changing stickers or reorganising stock. Most of the time I reply with a "No, I just come in here, put on a name tag and do stuff........ all for no pay".

Oh and another thing, why can't people put stuff back where they pick it up from. IT'S NOT THAT HARD PEOPLE!!! icon_wall.gif

Rant over. icon_mrgreen.gif

I pay $69.95 a month for my broadband+ $29.95 for my landline and I get 25gig peak and 45gig offpeak downloads. The offpeak times are quite good, 2am - 12pm and any uploads aren't metered so if you are into torrents you can seed all you like icon_smile.gif
Re: Your newest purchase (3 years ago)
NCIS season 1 and 2 for $25.98 each from Big W. Have been getting in to it recently on TV and thought I'd start from the beginning.
A couple of shows that I have been following have just returned. Entourage has just come back and I am enjoying it a great deal, a great return to form. I was excited to hear that Leverage got a second season. I thought it was a very clever show last season and I can't wait to see where they take it this year (my only concern is that it has the potential to get a bit same old same old. I hope they can steer it away from that).
Re: Chuck (3 years ago)
I thought the finale was fantastic!

It has set the third season up to be brilliant and I think it was the reason it got renewed. It was pretty touch and go there for a while.
That footage of Richard Wilkins eagerly breaking the story and then him being heard saying "good" in the background when they were announcing it as a hoax made me laugh my ass off. Funny.
This film is going to be fantastic. I. Can't. Wait.
I saw the trailer for this a while ago and I thought it was fantactic. Made me want to go and check it out. It also got 4 stars in Empire and that always helps icon_smile.gif
Re: John Hughes dies (3 years ago)
Bueller.......... Bueller............

Damn that is a great film. I am also a huge fan of The Breakfast Club. Very sad news indeed.

RIP.
About 2/3 of the way through Seven Ancient Wonders by Matthew Reilly. Decided I need to read it and The Six Sacred Stones again before The Five Greatest Warriors comes out in October.

Curse him and his "cliffhanger" ending......
Re: Your newest purchase (3 years ago)
Bought the first 4 seasons of Frasier for $15 each from Kmart.

Put the other 7 seasons on Layby for $15 each.

I love stumbling upon a bargain every now and then icon_biggrin.gif.
Re: Guild Wars (4 years ago)
I have all the sets for this including the Eye of the North but haven't played it in a while.

I also have a guild that I created but haven't used in quite some time. I would love to get back into this game on a casual basis and get a few members in the guild again (the guild was nothing major, just a couple of friends and I having a laugh). At least there would be people in my timezone having moved back from England icon_smile.gif.

I'll load it up tonight and get all the details and post them on here later.
Very sad news indeed, a State funeral is very appropriate.

RIP.

Welcome!
Hell yes!!!

It increases the experience 10 fold.

Just do it.
I'll tell you what grinds my gears...... network television companies in the US.

They cancel shows before they even get a chance to build a fanbase. The reason they don't get a fanbase is because the networks put the shows on in crap timeslots or play them in a random order so people don't understand the plot and loose interest (I'm looking your way FOX icon_deathglare.gif). There isn't a specific example that has set me off, it's just been boiling up inside me for a long time, years in fact.

Rant over icon_mrgreen.gif.
Having to try and list 5 is absolutely criminal...... but I'll give it a go.

In no particular order
1) Firefly
2) Lost
3) Peep Show - I can't believe no-one has mentioned this yet (may have missed it, just had a quick skim). If you haven't seen it you should definately look it up. British humour at its best.

Man this is hard......

4) Chuck
5) Veronica Mars

There are so many other shows that could go on there,

Band of Brothers (myself and a friend recently watched the whole 10 eps in 1 marathon sitting. It was in glorious Hi-Def with high end audio, absolutely amazing), 24, Gilmore Girls, Dawsons Creek, Battlestar (It was hard to leave that one off), Simpsons, Weeds, Entourage, Trailer Park Boys, Arrested Development, Dexter, Pushing Daisies, The Daily Show, Scrubs, The Unit, Friday Night Lights, it goes on and on..........

This list could have been a top 50 shows and I would have had to leave some off icon_smile.gif.
Re: Your newest purchase (4 years ago)
A new house!!! Most expensive purchase I've ever made.

Oh, and a subscription to Empire to celebrate icon_smile.gif.

-Bought HL2 'New', intsalled it... CD key already used. No more copies in stock, had to send it to Melbourne to get a working copy sent out, at my expense ofcourse.
-Bought a copy of Metroid Hunters, got home to find Metroid Pinball in the Hunters box.
I'll agree with the above being bad customer service (especially you having to cover the postage for your replacement) but IMHO that doesn't justify you taking stuff you haven't paid for.

-Bought a bunch of games oneday, got home and looked at the docket.. Oh sweet, they charged me $75 for a P.O copy of Viva Pinata (over RRP and $30 more than on the sticker).
As for this they should have noticed the error when they scanned it through but you should have jumped straight on them (not literally icon_biggrin.gif) when that little voice inside your head says "that doesn't seem to add up right".

Since GAME opened in the same area I haven't been back.
