Re: Rank your Doctor (3 years ago)
1. Pertwee
2. Tennant
3. Eccleston
4. Davison
I'm enjoying 11 as well, but too early to rank I reckon. For some reason I never liked Tom Baker.

Re: Great iPod Touch/iPhone Apps (3 years ago)
I don't know... I've got at least four people around me who are using Android phones, and they seem to be doing just fine so far. They'll certainly be high on my consideration list when my current phone dies (soon please, dear god let it be soon).
Re: $poons for Sigs! (3 years ago)
Thanks Mick! Yayyyyyyyyy!
Re: $poons for Sigs! (3 years ago)
Right, that's it. My paltry sum of spoons goes to you, good sir.
Re: Need help! Printers in Melbourne (3 years ago)
I recommend Dinkums on Swanston Street, just north of Victoria. They tend to be fine about whatever you want printed.
Re: Band needed for a free demo tape. (3 years ago)
Heya,
I've got a couple of bands of mine that would be interested - one has material ready to party, and the other one very soon will, but should be able to be ready within that timeframe.
Band one - Trojan Kettle - crap and eclectic, fun noisecore. Not sure if you'd be keen on that, exactly.
Band two - Lockerbie - reasonbly low key punk. Needing to record stuff sortof soonish anyway, and is likely to use the end product on a vinyl release later in the year.
Let me know if you're interested!

Re: 2 X google wave invites (3 years ago)
I would set fire to it with a whole raft of sharks equipped with particularly flammable flares. But that's just me.
Also, I'm on Wave, and happily add a few invites to this particular offer, if Zhou wishes to collaborate.

Re: Your newest purchase (3 years ago)
you'll need to get that phaser remote welded to the dashboard. You know, just in case.
Re: Relationship Woes. (3 years ago)
And nope, don't work with him, but lived with him until quite recently, and share a plethora of crazy relatives.
Re: Wii Sports Resort (3 years ago)
This thread has made me instantly want to retrieve my Wii and purchase this game. As such, I shall now add these tasks to my to-do list. Hooray!

Re: What really ticks you off? (3 years ago)
fucking airfares!!!!
ARGH! Completely cocked up my original booking for family obligations in Brissy this weekend, and it's costing me a small fortune to get the fares changed to something more sensible. Yes, yes, I know it's my fault, but jesus christ, this is getting ridiculous! It shouldn't cost this much (changes or otherwise) to fly a measly interstate jaunt!

That's the skin I have - I rather like it, and it adds a nice bit of bounce protection.
Re: The great What Do You Do? thread (3 years ago)
I work in educational technology (Blackboard mostly, for anyone in the industry/on the receiving end of it). It's pretty much like every other IT Administration role, just with more whinging academics.
PS - The first person who says "Blackboard is a pile of shit", gets a slap in the face as a prize for stating the obvious.

Are you allowed to cheat and use Peanut Butter M&M's? (They're available here now, right?)
Re: M&M's news....... (3 years ago)
Just like those great polystyrene containers McDonalds used to come in!
See, this is why we need pyramids. We've got lots of desert. Imagine all the cool crap we could save over the years to have buried with us?! Visually appealing and a practical time capsule.

Re: M&M's news....... (3 years ago)
sorry - dairy milk as in the sharing sized block. the one which used to be all rounded squarish pieces of chocolate in a errr... six by ten or something formation(?), with rather deep trenches. Now it's all flat, square and uninteresting.
*sigh* Another bastion of the 80's (and probably 70's I guess) lost for eternity. ETERNITY!

Bunk imo.

First ep of True Blood Season 2.
trying to say stuff while being dimplomatically observant of spoiler rules, which really only leaves me with: "damn".
i guess the other thing i can say is that it looks as though this is moving like Dexter: Books vs. Show - in that the first series follows the first book quite well, but after that they diverge.
although - there does seem to be some foreshadowing of events that happen in later books of the series, so who knows what might happen.

At the moment I'm enjoying my freshly delivered season 3 of The IT Crowd. At first I didn't think it was really standing up to the previous two seasons, but I'm pleased to say it's proved me completely wrong
Re: M&M's news....... (3 years ago)
This thread is making me want to go and buy some m&m's... I had no idea they were doing flavor-changey-things to them! Sucks about the size though
A friend bought over some Dairy Milk a couple of weeks ago and felt it necessary to apologise for the reduced size in advance before producing it... I'm not quite sure it's been reduced to a size worth feeling ashamed about (well, not as the purchaser... Cadbury's, perhaps), but it is a damned site smaller and has lost its old segmenty shape! Arrrgh!

I think it might be time to kit myself out with a nice little sig/av combo.
Hmmm... *thinks*

Re: Who wants a Retro Gaming Talk on here? (3 years ago)
I'd love a retro section - I think I'd find it more appealing and relevant to me than most of the current sections - but by the sounds of it, I'm in a pretty small minority there.
Seriously though... C64 discussions!!! That would be sweet. There's more to Retro gaming than just the NES!

Little confused about the neg from Archer?
All I was doing was posting news.
I'm not gunna lose any sleep or anything but it's weird that someone disagrees with news?
At this point in time I think it's going to take a really long time to get a clear picture of what's going on in Iran, and all news like you've posted is food for thought.
I definitely don't understand the neg - particularly without comment!
Re: Great iPod Touch/iPhone Apps (3 years ago)
For the tweeters here, TweetDeck has just been released in the app store, and is free. Hoorah!

Re: Opera to "reinvent the web" (3 years ago)
yeah, reinvention's a bit over the top, but this looks like an excellent and handy app - looking forward to playing around with it extensively over the next couple of weeks.
