I think it's a good idea as long as they use the xbox controller as a base design example.
Not that the xbox is perferct but I really don't like the way the PS3 controller fits in your hand. It's way too light and is too straight / square and the trigers are spongy and under used because they are in the wrong place and don't get me started on the (over)range of motion the thumbsticks have.
But I'm sure some fanbois will not agree and say the xbox controller is crap, but as I play both consoles (and have for some years) this is just my personal opinion.
Picked the game up yesterday and all DLC worked fine for me.
Cerberus Network, Normandy, Zaeed, Infernal Armour and Dragon Armour (from Dragon Age save I assume.)
All this before I started a "New" game.
Re: Borderlands Review (3 years ago)
Can't really change appearance. There is no armor or clothes to wear. You can only change the color of a characters clothes and your vehicles, but as it is FPS I think only your co-op friends can see it.
Re: Borderlands Review (3 years ago)
I think this game is pretty cool and have finished it twice so now have a kick-ass level 50 Lilith.
The one thing that I found a little strange, and I guess slightly disappointing, is the lack of bad language. I mean you can blow a crazy little midgets head off, dissolve them with corrosive effects and set them alight but I have not heard one bad word in my whole 75+ hours of game play.
I would not mind a couple of S**TS of a few F**KS. I mean it is a pretty lawless land full of homicidal maniacs but strangely enough they all seem rather polite and well spoken.
Hanging out in the club is cool. Like the drinking game doing shots and stumbling around or drinking too much and especially the dancing which is surprisingly fun. Hopefully a snap shot of what the game This Is Vegas might be like.

That would not be Judas Priest your hinting at would it?
What about importing from NZ?
I imported Dark Sector a while back. Got it cheap too.
Does anyone know if NZ will get an edited version like they did GTA IV, even though it passed with an R18+ ?
I think the game was pretty good.
I got my copy from BigW for $68 upon release so that is good value in my opinion (if only all games were that price).
If you get all audio logs while playing Legendary then the campaign can be quite long.
Co-op is also fun and Fire Fight with friends is pretty cool with the different difficulties and skulls.
And who doesnt love a headshot and hearing that "Yeah"?
Facebook and Twitter, what utter crap!
I hope I can hide those screens on the Dashboard like I can the Welcome Channel.
Then all I'd need to do is find someway to headshot all the ****** little Avatars that pollute my screen and all would be good.
It's quite OK to kill, maim, execute and cause maximum carnage with out to much controversy. If you want to spice it up with some sexual content the shit hit's the fan. So killing is OK but making love is not. What a sad state of affairs.

I'm here for news and information, not to work for PALGN.
"What's coming in July?"
Who knows. This site definately does not. Might as well just post anything up as being released. At least, as of today, you have got 50% of the "Out Now" right. Half a cookie for you only...and no milk!
Earth No More and Prey 2 "out now"... I don't think so.
Overlord II has been pushed back to the 9th of July as well.
VidZone = The usual half ass attempt by Sony to make the PS3 worth spending time on. Epic fail as per usual.
Re: Prototype Review (3 years ago)
One thing with Alex Mercer I do find rather funny is that he can do all these over the top amazing things but somewhere along the line he forgot he has two hands that could be used to hang onto ledges.
Re: Prototype Review (3 years ago)
I like both Prototye and Infamous but I just find them a bit incomplete because of my two main gripes, traffic and people. If other developers can put the time and effort into having us, the player, not running into the same exact 7 people standing at the same traffic lights or not having 20 of the same model taxi driven by the same person driving down the same street then whay can't Prototype and Infamous. These type of games were made for exploration and discovery, e.g. finding the landmark orbs in Prototype and the shards in Infamous and it would be nice if they made the environments a little more juicy. It just rubs off a bit of shine for me. I am still liking both games a lot but just thoughd I'd add that. BTW Denny I think you hinted at a comparison of sort to these new games in your opening statement.
Re: Prototype Review (3 years ago)
These Sandbox games are one of my favourite genres for the freedom and charismatic environments they usally provide. I think this latest batch (Prototype and Infamous) leave much to be desired. Although the gameplay and upgradability of the characters is excellent the worlds they are in are lifeless and boring compared to others like Crackdown, and especially Saints Row 2 and GTA IV. The NPCs are robotic clones that walk the street in a daze with multiple identicle characters in the same spot. The traffic is retarded, stopping at green ligts and driving through red's. Often the vehicles disappear altogether even while your car surfing. There is no variety in the populace, no children, no elderly, no bums, no gangsters or troublemakers. They don't cary bags, brief cases, push prams. There is no music coming from the cars. People don't get into taxis or on trains. There are no buildings you can enter. There are coffee tables on balconies or park benches in the parks but nobody sits on them. The people do not interact with each other. I think you get my meaning, lifeless. I think if Prototype and Infamous get 8's to 9.5's then GTA IV and Saints Row 2 should get 10's and 11.5's. Especially when both also have co-op play and on-line multiplayer.
Off topic, not that I know if there is one here, but as you are all gamers and Australian I thought this may be of interest. As we all disagree with the current OFLC saga with banning games etc. this little tid-bit caught my eye recently http://www.xbox360fanboy.com/2008/10/22/gears-of-war-2-too-violent-for-germany-and-japan/ It seems we get away with some things and are deprived of others. Another fine example of how crazy our ratings system is.
Multiplayer matchmaking is a big mistake with a game that is renound for host advantage and lag online. With GOW1 online players could pick and choose a lobby based on ping for a good connection and an even playing field. With global matchm aking this is unavailable and players are forced to endure laggy matches. This format poses big problems for an international minority who are outnumbered by US players who dominate host. This also once again makes me laugh when I read the Microsoft Xbox Live motto "Play anyone, anytime, anywhere".
"Lot's of greys and browns"
I'd like to see the day when a post appocalyptic world has lavander purple and orchard white blossoms dazzaling my eyes with sweet yellow canaries singing in the background while I stare up at white fluffy clouds dreaming of a more "colorfull" future.
With the strength of 360 games out the next coming months it may of been a wise business decision to ignore a 360 version. It is a shame for the developers and all due to our OFLC, our holy than thou guardians of morality and all that is pure and decent. Thank you for saving my soul and that of my children from the devil inside these evil console games.
Re: Saints Row 2 Review (4 years ago)
I've been wanting to run the trailers and gameplay clips for this on the bigscreens at work but they are such a no go for regular people traffic

It's hard to build up the hype for a product if it can't be shown!

The offical SR2 website has some good videos.

My copy shipped from PlayAsia on monday, lets hope it gets here soon.
That's right. Playing this already. It's OK for a PeeS3 game.
Wasn't the PS3 getting something called HOME last year, this year, or was it just fluff? LOL PS3 ...
Re: Saints Row 2 Review (4 years ago)
The first game was a lot of fun although the online was terribly laggy. As GTAIV was my first GTA play so all the "rip-off" crap did not bother me. This sounds like it is going to be even better than the first (hope they fix OL lag) plus the addition of co-op. Looking forward to this to kick off a stella couple of months of great games for the 360.
I imported this game for the XBOX from NZ ages ago. It was OK. Some great executions, a lot of blood and screaming. Total GOW controls but worth a play through. The edited version would ruin the best of it, which is of course, the violence and executions which are quite gruesome and funny.
