The only reason I look at this site is for the honest reviews and realistic scores. Keep it up.

The biggest cop out though, is the implementation of DLC courses in the career mode, where the associated events must be skipped unless you buy the content. Often it feels as if the product you’re buying is unfinished. It would have been nicer to reward players who excel at the game with unlocking some of this extra content, rather than demanding payment.
I hope this pay for the disk then pay to play it scenario doesn't become common practice.
Re: Homefront Review (2 years ago)
I had a go at SP and for while I was in stitches laughing at how bad this game is. The intro is hilarious!
You would hope the MP is 1000 times better because after the funny wears off the SP is just crap.

What do those who were kind of "meh" on the demo think of the full game?
Single player was a lot better than what I was expecting also.

The button option has been announced as DLC to be released in September.
So that's when I will buy it

I don't like the game so am against a lot of things in it, but even so, I can't work out how a game with known bugs, laggy EA servers and no option for face button configs can score a 9.
Flicking a stick around to punch is crap and for anyone who thinks the same there should be an option to use buttons instead.
The old game had this option and it was great. I used the buttons for standard punches where using a stick would be retarded, then used the stick for punches you need to wind up like uppercuts and haymakers.
Calling me a "button masher" is a crappy excuse, if I really wanted I could buy FNR4 and become a stick waggler, but I won't because that would be as boring as being a button masher.
No control options = me not buying this game.

Yes, I was blaming our internet speeds for not even considering/remembering countries with good connections.
Even still, it's going to be a miracle if they pull it off as well as they say even on fast connections.

Re: OnLive – Fact or Fiction? (4 years ago)
Maybe my mind would have been more open initially if we had decent internet connections. But with the state of our country's communication infrastructure, I instantly found the concept ridiculous.
I also can't see how this could be a seamless and enjoyable service even if they built a data center here and you had a good connection.
I don't doubt they could stream a game via video while it's being rendered on a remote server, I just can't see the control working.
If I'm playing a game and hit a button which sends a signal pinging all around the country to the game server, then the game server registers it and send the frame back down, there is surely going to be some lag involved.
If there is any lost or laggy control in my game then there is no way I would use the service. I'm sure I'm not alone.. Am I crazy ?

Cause I know I like to sink thousands of dollars into apperances at the GDC, interviews, advertising, graphic design etc for a bit of a laugh.
Re: OnLive – Fact or Fiction? (4 years ago)
As if this whole think isn't a joke !?
The idea seems impossible technically and the supposed "real footage" looks like a project put together by some motion graphics students.
There is also an interview video floating around which looks and sounds completely fake.
I was shocked to find people taking it seriously.

Pretty sure they're not called "Malls" in Aus.
Re: Tomb Raider: Underworld Review (4 years ago)
They should call this game Leap Of Faith.. The camera is freakin terrible. Felt like playing the original TR on PC..
I was already quite bored playing through the demo when I was shown the still annoying combat system by being made to shoot some random Tigers in the face.. ??
The only thing that didn't fail (imo) was the graphics.. But playing through detailed and attractive environments in this game is like smearing poo on some really nice artwork.

Re: NBA Live 09 Review (4 years ago)
I too purchased 2K.
The menu's are horrible!
But who really cares.. + Thank god you can turn off the bad gangster rap music!
The player models aren't bad but they are not as good as live. I'm talking jaggy edges when rendered, not how buff their legs are
One thing that 2K kicks live's ass on presentation-wise is the crowd.. Very lifelike and really adds to the atmosphere.
Live didn't have commentary in their demo, so I can't compare, but 2K's becomes very repetitive..

Re: NBA Live 09 Review (4 years ago)
I agree that this years Live is a step in the right direction, but it's definitely not there yet.
I found blocking a shot in this game next to impossible and the animations make you feel like you're not in control.
It's good to watch but I want to play :)
2K's menu system and graphics are horrible, but once you're in the game the atmosphere and gameplay kicks ass over Live. That's what counts in my book.

Re: POTW: FIFA or PES? (4 years ago)
Fifa!!
Fifa now has gameplay on-par if not better than PES.. Plus the presentation is WAAAAAY better in every way.
PES definitely needs a complete re-build next year if they are to stay in the game.
