For anyone not aware, Chris Brown has engaged in a tweet war with CM Punk in which Brown accused Punk of being a steroids user. Though vid is titled CM Punk responds to Chris Brown, its all Phil Brooks speaking.

Bi-weekly tournaments at my not-so local arcade in Southern Cali. Bala's match is around 55:00 and while Reynald is one of the best KOF XIII players right now, Bala just seems to be on a level of his own.

I'll skip out on this like I did MvC2 and 3S:OE. Like those two games, I have the PS2 iteration of AC+ and I'm fine with that.
ARE YOU SERIOUS, BRO!?

So I only realized today that there is a typo in the topic title for this thread when luketheman pointed it out.
I saw that years ago. I let the TC know, but he/she didn't bother to fix it.

Engine is tuned to require near perfect execution i think.
I think that might be it, I mean blazblue is a lot stricter on the inputs then SF 4, but I'm used to that, but I think KoF might be a level above that still.
What's funny is that I consider the execution in BlazBlue(though the last one I played was CS) to be harder than KOFXIII and with SSF4, I can't do those 1-frame links if my life depended on it. While BB and SSF4 aren't my kind of games, I think the execution portion mainly deals with the fact that I didn't put as much effort into learning it as I did KOFXIII's system and I think that's the case for a lot of people here.

The canceling system isn't too complex. Its really no different from super canceling from 3S or SSF4. The HD combos are hard, but they don't require UMvC3 levels of execution.

Fortunately for my main team: King, Vice, and Kula. They have really simple, yet damaging combos. King's HD combo is a matter alternating between B Tornado Kick and Trap Shot in the corner. Vice can HD from her BnB and 80% with 3 meters, and Kula's BnB is so good that HD combos are pointless for her.

Here's some tips on creating/fighting against frame traps and overall controlling space.

Don't know if this was mentioned anywhere, but I just read that Adam Adamowicz, the guy designed the world of Skyrim died of cancer a few days ago on Feb. 8th.

Had some matches online last night and they were a bit of a mixed bag. The first few were extremely laggy and just fireball-fests. Never realised how hard it was to dodge a fireball when you can't jump properly or roll.

Actually had a few lag-free matches after that, but they were against people that actually knew how to play the game and they proceeded to wipe the floor with me. It's insane how quick the game plays when you're up against someone who knows what they're doing (lots of hop jumping, dashing and cross-ups) and playing the game against the CPU appears to have been a complete waste of time.

Not heaps of fun, as there's obviously more to learn about the game than I realised. Also quite difficult to get matches happening (took an hour just to have about 6 matches).
Its been a bit tough to find matches and even moreso now that Soul Calibur V released. I think most of the casual KOF fanbase moved over. Even with the patch, there are still lots of red bars. It looks playing someone internationally still won't work out well. Even with lv3 latency, the amount of input lag really ruins my offline execution. I only go for lv4 and even its quite rare to go up against someone my level or better. I often just end up matched with noobs whom I effortlessly beat and I can't further improve because of that.
As of late, every time I win at something, I can't help but do this.

Now I'm back here grinning away at the chaotic mess that is PALGN icon_smile.gif It's quite exciting!
I have to say that there a few occasions in which I enjoy seeing the misery of others. Is this event one of them? Well... icon_smile.gif
PG-13? I might as well just keep watching WWE in it's current state. OTL
Re: Coffee (1 year ago)
Out of my immediate family, I'm the only one who doesn't drink coffee daily which is definitely attributed to the fact that drinking the stuff gives me quite the massive runs. :<

Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition, or Leon's secret lover. It's obviously inferior to Blazblue.
Definitely not a secret. ^^;

Anyways, I went over to a friend's place yesterday and gave this a go. I didn't even realize the game was out and given that, I wasn't very sold on it. However, I gave it a go and I enjoyed the game a lot. So I'm definitely considering buying this game. Depending on my progress, I might decide to compete in this game at Evo2k in addition to KOFXIII and MK9.
Final Fantasy XIII-2 with the strategy guide(US$112).

1/8 Scale Dizzy Figurine by Alter(US$150).

1/8 Scale Fate/Extra Caster Figurine by Phat Company(US$100).

1/7 Scale Metamorphose Panty Figurine by Sentinel(US$105).

Hyperdimension Neptunia+mk2 Artbook(US$64). Currently one of my favorite artbooks.
The series is one of my favorites and this series of one of the few in which I actually complete each game right away. I follow the popular opinion in that the 3rd game is the best in the series whereas the 2nd is the worst in terms of plot and characters.
Re: Play-Asia Coupons (1 year ago)
I've been taken care of. Thanks!
Hopefully this year's Royal Rumble will actually be a rumble. I think the past two years didn't even have more than ten competitors in the ring at the same time.
Royal Rumble this Sunday. Predictions for the Royal Rumble match? My money is on Y2J.
This and MK9 are my main fighters right now as I intend to compete at Evo2k this year. Online is still rather dodgy. The only good connections I can get are definitely local and playing anyone who isn't local is just out of the question. Hopefully that announced patch hits soon and fixes things. I'm still doing everything I can to play more people offline as that is still the best way to sharpen my skills.
Rather entertaining Raw. Team 'Best in the World' ended up leaving CM Punk on his own and Funkman finally cemented his status as a heel. Given how Raw ended, I'm certain Foley is going to get involved in the WWE Championship match now.

Figma Miku Hatsune Cheerful Japan! version (US$45).

Nendoroid Nyx (US$22 from AmiAmi).

Disgaea 4 Append Disc Limited Edition (US$42 from AmiAmi;). I got it on sale for 2400 yen, but as the weeks passed AmiAmi discounted it even more. Price is currently at 980 yen before shipping.

Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2 2012 Calendar (US$69)

2011 Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Management Shirt (US$89.50)
Legacista looks quite interesting and I'm definitely keeping my eyes on it. At first I thought it would be just be like Cladun, but it looks to be a little more than that. Good stuff.
I don't think I can come up with 10 because there are some releases I still haven't got my hands on yet.

1. Disgaea 4: Absence of Justice. Not exactly a game with the most cutting-edge graphics, but a huge leap for the series with Nippon Ichi in terms of their graphics. The sprites perfectly the capture the overall feel and theme of the game. Combined with the addictive gameplay, the game is just NIS-perfection.

2. Catherine: Most unique game I've played in a while and easily had the most interesting story. It was like a really good book that I couldn't put down. I kept playing just because I wanted to know what would happen next. The suspense was killing me.

3. The King of Fighters XIII: I've always felt that 2002 Unlimited Match is KOF perfection. It still is, but I know have to add XIII to that lineup. Roots from 2002, Hand-drawn sprites, improved gameplay, and an impressive roster undeniably makes this one of the best fighters currently.

4. Mortal Kombat: Complete reboot/revival for the series. Not just for the gameplay, but the story as well. NetherRealm Studios did an amazing job with this game. Due to the reboot, this game not only appeals to the dedicated core fanbase since MK1, but also appeals to people who are new to the series or don't know anything about the story. NRS has also been brilliant with patching this game with the silent hotfixes and releasing patches in a timely manner. The netcode, while not the best is certainly very good for the company's first outing. I really think they one-upped Capcom when it comes to the patching.

5. Muramasa: The Demon Blade: This game easily has the best 2D graphics this generation, though they are matched by last gen's Odin Sphere and GrimGrimoire(though that's obvious since they're all by Vanillaware). I always felt Odin Sphere was a bit messy and there were severe performance issues at that times, but Muramasa fixes all that. I hate to sound redundant, but I like that Muramasa wasn't as hack and slash as it's predecessor and I also feel the gameplay has improved due to that.

6. F1 2010: Finally a proper Formula game on home consoles. I'm so used to seeing the various yearly releases of Madden, NBA2k, and WWE games, so for me its a breath of fresh air a far more deserving sport make the cut into yearly releases. F1 2010 is really simple and quite fun. Its not as complicated as other racers or driving simulators, but it really is unbelievable at how fast these cars go in the game. I haven't bought F1 2011 yet(its probably going to be a Christmas gift), but from what I hear from both fans and the F1 drivers, that its far better than 2010.

7. Valkyria Chronicles: Another game with unique visuals and very unique and innovative gameplay. Everything about this game is great, characters and story included. There's not much else to say. Its just a shame that it didn't get the following it deserves.

I think Henry stuffed up his timing though.
Yeah, he went for a pinfall when he was supposed to be unable to capitalize.

does arcade edition really count as a new game? It was just an add on for Street Fighter, that's kind of like counting lair of the shadow broker as it's own game and not just a part of Mass Effect 2.
Post guidelines said it doesn't have to be a game released this year, just one that was purchased this year. So for anyone else who didn't play previous SF4 iterations, yes it can count as a new game.

Hyperdimension Neptunia. Actually it's probably the worst game I've played in recent memory. The music is awful and the battle system is boring. When you keep mashing the "skip" button in battle there must be something really wrong. Despite that I'm eager to get the sequel as they seem to have fixed it up a bit.
While I was able to get some enjoyment out of the battle system everything else was rather bland. The thing I hated most was the lack of variation. The variation of enemies was really and even then, most of them were copied straight out of Trinity Universe, which were copied from Cross Edge, which were copied from Agarest War. It was worse for the dungeons as there was practically a grand total of around 4 different layouts, 2 of which again, came from Trinity Universe

Super Street Fighter IV: AE......
Arcade Edition is definitely it for me. It is by no means a bad game, but I simply can't get any enjoyment out of this game. I'm not going to get into the details as to why I feel this way as I'm sure some people will get defensive. Its just not quite my taste in fighters and I'll leave it at that.
Interesting end to the show. Not bad.

I think the spoiler policy is we'll discuss it once it's aired.

So we can talk about Raw on Tuesdays, Smackdown and Impact on Fridays etc.

So we can talk about Daniel Bryan cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase and winning the title...until it was revoked by Teddy Long.

Has anyone purchased WWE '12 yet?
That had to be the biggest cock tease of a Smackdown I've ever seen. I turned off the tv after that happened.
I don't read spoilers so if you do just mark and conceal them.
Some people already have access to Classic Iori. I'm guessing these people bought the Japanese version as it came with the DLC for free if anyone pre-ordered it.

When it comes to other fighters, how has the connection fared when you guys play people internationally?
