This gets canned while Medal of Honor is about to be green-lit for a sequel.

Re: Sequels planned for Avatar and... (2 years ago)
Yeah, it's been too long since I watched it. I think a rewatch is in order given this delightful news.
I just wanna see Keanu again in arguably his best role. Plus they're doing a new Bill and Ted from some reports, so that's another plus. It's gonna be a good couple years for the old Reeves.

The Matrix.
Link.
I dunno if this is known around these parts yet, but consider me completely jacked up for two more Matrix films.

My ex-girlfriend is terrified of clowns, so as you can imagine Left 4 Dead 2 had her pretty distraught.
Whenever you'd hear the honk of his nose, or the squeeze of his clown shoes from a distance she'd be quick to bury her face in something to avoid seeing him.
In before 'that's what she said', or whatever.

Also if Katich is suffering that much with his achilles, it couldn't hurt to give Phil Hughes another shot at opening the batting.
He has talent, he just needs to be given more chances to warm to it. I mean, c'mon - they can't expect him to explode straight away. He's a player of the future, and needs to be implemented eventually.

As of the 30th of September when I executed my trade, Halo Reach is fetching $68 for trade value at EB Games.

That... that is hideous.
I think the one thing that could potentially save Modern Warfare 2 is the fact that the scene is skippable.
If it weren't, it'd be axed sooner than you could say 'up your arse, Atkinson'. Here's hoping it makes it, I mean hell there's only two weeks to go, or something.

They also had Pro Evo 2008 and Golden Compass for $10, but I decided against getting those.
Re: Which was the last game you finished? (3 years ago)
I beat Chains of Olympus (God of War on PSP to those not in the loop).
It's actually the first God of War game I've solidly played through, and probably luckily being that it is the prequel to the series. Nevertheless, Chains of Olympus is just epic. I can't believe some of the scale they managed to execute on a handheld.
Boss battles (even if they're a touch on the few side) are grandiose as you'd expect. And the story as it got toward the end began to draw me in, and Kratos' sacrifice near the finale of the game was damn near heartbreaking. My only criticism might be that the game was a bit short, I managed to beat it in like three and a half hours or something.
But otherwise, incredible.

Re: Your newest purchase (3 years ago)
Jeez, it's been a big couple of weeks for buying stuff.
So here's what I've bought recently (won't include prices cause I simply don't remember).

Final Fantasy (PSP)
Lemmings (PSP)
Guitar Hero: Greatest Hits (360)
Turning Point: Fall of Liberty (360) for $10

Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil (Xbox)
Prehistorik Man (SNES)
Super Swiv (SNES)
Judge Dredd (SNES)
Jurassic Park (SNES)
Kid Clown in Crazy Town (SNES)
Donkey Kong Country (SNES)
Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy Kong's Quest (SNES)
I paid, like, $30 for all of the SNES titles.
Movies/DVDs
The Complete Seinfeld Collection: Fridge Packaging
The Dark Knight: Mask Collector's Edition
Once Were Warriors for $5
The Village for $5
Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children for $5
The Simpsons Season Four for $30
CDs
Birds of Tokyo 'Universes' for $5 at Cashies (great buy)
Lostprophets 'Start Something' for $5

My missus made me buy clothes this week, lol. *whip crack*
So I got an $80 jacket, and a $50 hooded jacket to wear under it. I also got a dress shirt for $30.
And, a gift to me from me, I bought myself a pair of Macbeth Eliot shoes. They're awesome, enough said.
So yep, spent too much.

Re: Your newest purchase (4 years ago)
Yep, me yet again.
I decided I needed more crap.
So, I bought the following off of my mate for $90.
Not pictured is Pokemon Diamond
I managed to score;
Devil May Cry (PS2)
Haven: Call of the King (PS2)
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (PS2)
...an ex-rental of Kingdom Hearts II (PS2), it's in rough shape but oh well.
Pokemon Diamond (NDS)
Metroid Fusion (GBA)
Golden Sun (GBA)
Golden Sun: The Lost Age (GBA)
Pokemon Blue (GBC)
Pokemon Crystal (GBC)
All the Gameboy games are cartridge only. By the way, how do I judge their authenticity?
Just to be safe.

I pretty much 100% agree with Obs.
All spreads, jams, sauces go in the cupboard, whereas salad dressings or mayonnaise-like condiments are refridgerated.

Re: Your newest purchase (4 years ago)
Hey all, made some new purchases!
I'm aware this is a stock photo, but I can't be bothered taking a photo of it myself. But I grabbed the Resistance PSP Bundle from JB Hi-Fi for $299. I wanted to pick it up from EB Games, but sadly they were out of stock.
Then, naturally, I picked up some PSP games to go with it.
Obviously Resistance is also included in the photos, but I also managed to pick up;
Liberty City Stories $15.
God of War: Chains of Olympus $30.
Silent Hill: Origins $25.
Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops $25.
I also managed to pick up a PSX console from Cashies for $30 and my missus spotted a copy of Croc and pretty much demanded I purchase it so she can play it. So I grabbed that for $7, so I hope that's a decent title.
It was also my girlfriend's birthday the other day, so I decided to get her this (which she'd mentioned in passing that she'd love to get it, so naturally I took this as a hint).
And lastly, I bought these last two Xbox 360 titles. I got The Darkness off of Adam, and I purchased Viva Pinata off of another fellow around the forum scene for $20 and $10 respectively.
That's it!
Sorry about the images (mainly how half of them aren't mine), but it does give you an idea of my purchases.

Re: What'd be the better option? (4 years ago)
Yeah, I'm thinking I may just off-load a few Xbox 360 titles, as trading in three will net me an extra $20 store credit, as is their current policy. So that should, with any luck, nab me a healthy $50 discount off of the retail price.
Heck, I might even be able to get $50 off of EB pricematching JB's price of the Resistance bundle of $299, bringing it down to $250 and then using the left over coin to pick up some preowned titles like God of War, etc.
Sounds feasible, right?

Re: Rock Band DLC for June 9th - Iron Maiden (4 years ago)
I know Iron Maiden, so I presume on some level I'm loved, but...
That's right, there's a but.
...I find them to be quite a mixed bag. I mean, I saw them in the early stages of last year (or whenever they toured), and I thought to myself 'hell, they've aged extremely well'. I mean, to still be able to perform at that level considering their age is truly a testament to their conditioning and just pure willing to go on and please fans. Especially Bruce, he moves like a fifteen year-old around the stage. Quick and agile too... like a cat, a cat that could kill you. </American Dad reference>
While their music isn't particularly in my standard tastes, I do see their appeal to power metal fans, if they're still considered to be that genre. I suppose it's the fact I grew up with other music, and have since developed my own tastes.
Needless to say, I can't see myself picking up any of these tracks except for, maybe, 'Aces High' and 'The Trooper', both super tracks in my opinion.

Re: 5 Random Facts About Yourself (4 years ago)
Hmm, looks fun.
1. I have pretty shocking trust issues. They pretty much caused my first serious relationship to end rather bitterly, and I fear it's going to send my current one down the same path.
2. I've never met my father. I recently tracked him down, thanks to Facebook, but have decided it may be better not to pursue anything - as I worry about possible disappointment in the man who I, for no real reason, expect a lot from.
3. I first stumbled across PALGN by winning the 'We're All Write' competition a few years back - this subsequently landed me a job writing for PALGN which I sadly flaked on for a number of reasons. My bad, team.
4. I play the ole' electric guitar and would love to learn to sing. Sadly I'm far too self-conscious to do this, regardless of having extremely accessible resources in close friends who can sing very well. I wanna do acoustic renditions of my favourite bands, you see.
5. I often compare myself to Chandler (Matthew Perry's character from the sitcom Friends), as I find myself to kind of be the funny one of my group, though I also use humour as a defense-mechanism and a crutch at times.
Depending on how I feel, I may (later on) add six through ten.

Even if that site was set up by cops, most of the stuff we'd get 'busted' for isn't illegal in this country.
So masturbate, use upside down stamps, eat mince-pie and fish on Sunday all you bloody want, people! All at once, if you're feeling a bit daring.

Listening to all of Sound Awake by Karnivool, myself.
I'm not going to do a long drawn-out review track by track (which was a good read, I'll admit) but needless to say, it's an amazing album. A few more listens may even leave me regarding it higher than Themata, a undoubtedly incredible epic.
I love the lyrics on the album - and I love lyrics in general, I think they're the second most important part to a song, following melody. And luckily, Karnivool is choc full of both in the highest quality.
Favourite lyrics from the album may very well be;
If this is entertaining,
I hope you all enjoy the view,
wide awake and still asleep.
I'm failing this riddle in my head,
I, I'm failing to get it, the kind you see,
honestly, wide awake and still asleep.
And of course, it's accompanied by an incredible vocal melody from the one, and only, Ian Kenny (who I love by the way, I'd be gay for him so fast).
So yeah, amazing record.

Re: What'd be the better option? (4 years ago)
Haha - why, though?
I likely wouldn't buy a preowned PSP unless it was damn near new, so I'll be sifting through each and every one they've got at my EB, no matter how frustrating it is for the staff.
I don't really care for what they want, in any case, lol. I just want to get a PSP and a few games for around $300-$320. So I'd say it's easily manageable for me to achieve that, especially just having had a skim over of the list of preowned games at EB. There's around four I'd love to get, and would come to a total of like $60 or so.
I'd obviously check the condition of the UMDs, too.
You'd have to be stupid to scratch those though, except that takes me back to my first encounter with a UMD, lol. I'd never seen one before and thought you were supposed to take the disc out of the plastic casing. *facepalm*
Needless to say, that copy of Gangs of London was rendered even more useless than it's playable state.
EDIT: Sambo's point regarding peace of mind is a valid point, too.

I like the last two.
The second last due to the angle being sweet, I assume the dude is doing a tailwhip, but it looks like a pretty professional shot. And the last, of course, thanks to the Gatorade penis man.

What'd be the better option? (4 years ago)
PALGN members, I need a touch of help I suppose.
I am just after advice on what people think would be the best option for me in my purchasing a Sony PSP-3000. Obviously I want to get out of it all spending as little as possible, but for the most value.
So here are my two options as I see it;
1. I can buy the Resistance Retribution PSP pack for $300 at JB.
2. I can buy a second hand PSP-3000 from EB for $230 or whatever it is, and buy two or three preowned titles such as Daxter, Vice City Stories and probably God of War for roughly the same price.
While I'd ideally love a brand new PSP, I do think the second option sounds more economical, though I would be concerned with the condition of preowned goods. I suspect UMD titles can't really decrease in condition, as there's no real way for the discs to be damaged, right?
But has anybody got any insight as to what condition a preowned console would be in?
Thanks all.

Re: Your newest purchase (4 years ago)
Yeah I know, it is a shame.
But the majority of the rest of the song after the cut-off has basic, or no, guitar. So for the sake of the game, it was probably wise using the radio edit. Though, for a fan, I would have enjoyed the whole song, heck I'd love the whole Colors album myself.
'White Walls' on Rock Band would be amazing, lol.

I bought a code off of a bloke on Ebay that granted me the twenty bonus tracks you get with Rock Band 2.
And now I've got 'Prequel to the Sequel' by Between the Buried and Me. Too good.
