I just bought iPod Touch firmware 2.0 for $9.99.

Special Editions?... Fvck em all. They are a rip off.
After paying AU$120 or US$60 for a game they really should be free. Unsually nothing more than a The Making of CD/DVD of the game or art work. Only for the fanboys who dont realise they are being ripped off.
DVDs come with special features included with a bonus disc. They dont charge you extra an extra $10. So why should the game publishers and developes be doing the same.

I seriously can't understand how some people cant see that Sony have failed its fans.
I loved my PS , PS2 and now I got the PS3 and satisfied with its software and upcoming titles.
One main reason the PS2 was easily adoptable was its 100% BC with PS1 titles. That made upgrading to the PS2 sensible. Even Sony have said BC is important to them.
Then they axed it and gave us a 40GB PS3 which had no BC with PS2 titles. Now they have axed that as well and introducing a new 80GB that doesnt even play PS1 titles too, but they dont reduce the price.
A lot of people have old and nearly broken PS2s with large libraries. So if they are to upgrade to the PS3 they will have to buy a PS2 as well to play their games.

If you are to summarise Blu Ray in a few words, I would say "COSTLY FAILURE."
You talk about "best looking movies" but that hasnt helped Blu Ray take off in the mainstream has it. And I mean the regular folks. Those who are not gamers and tech geeks. Even though Blu Ray won the format war over HD DVD, the fact is sales of Blu Ray player have still been generally poor.
And mainly because DVD picture quality is still good enough for most people not to warranty an expensive upgrade. And yes Blu Ray players are still expensive even if they have had price drops considering that you can pick up a good DVD playe for less than $100.

PS2 succeeded as a DVD player with casual gamers simply because the DVD player was an extra. It didnt drive the cost of making the PS2 high unlike what Blu Ray has done to the PS3.
Plain and simple, the PS3 is a great console which was destined for success. But Blu Ray is killing the PS3.
No matter how awesome the PS3 is, ultimately is still a games console. So if it is expensive, it will turn off the average gamer from buying it.
Sony's biggest mistake is that they tried to force Blu Ray onto the consumers.
And yes the PS3 20GB was fully BC like the original 60GB.

Thats were I feel Sony has failed us in this gen. They didnt give us the folks the choice to choose what we really want in our consoles. Just force heaps of storage at the expense of cheaper prices and BC.
Had the 20GB PS3 ben realised in the PAL region I would have bought that on launch. Thats enough for memory for me. The full BC was all I cared about.
But no, we never go the chance to buy that console. I couldnt import the 20GB PS3 because my PS2 games are all PAL.
Sony are just not giving us the consumers what we want. I do believe most people would rather have full BC than HOME and BLU RAY.

The Eilte is a more complete package than the PS3.
And with the success of the Wii Virtual Console and Xbox Originals you would think making a PS2 store on PSN would be a no brainer for Sony with the vast amount of classics on the PS2.
If SOny wont put BC in the PS3's hardware, then please give it to us through downloads. Some of us dont have our PS2's anymore.

Although dissapointing that casual gaming is now getting more priority from Ninty it all makes sense.
Cheap games to produce but will most likely sell well since there is now a big target audience.
Most casual gamers dont even care about game reviews. Just buy what ever suit their taste.
The Wii is a console that is selling well mainly because of the appeal of its periphirals.

Overall I would say MS had the best conference.
Those people still undecided whether to get a 360 or a PS3, really didnt get much reason from Sony to choose a PS3 over the much cheaper 360 which like the PS3 can act as a home entertainment hub.

I have a PS3 and 360. So exclusivity of games doesnt affect me. But there are a lot of people who own a 360 but not a PS3 and it would be good for them if they had the chance to enjoy a great game like MGS4.

The same goes for the opposite. That people who believe in Evolution can never convince Christians that the Earth and Life was not made in Seven days regardless of the strong evidence they put forward.
Ultimately its up to an individual to decide what he/she wants to believe in and if it is the right way of living.
Whats important is we all tolerate and respect each other despite our differing beliefs.

In the Western nations definitely it will happen. Only in Japan is were unfortunately the 360 will fail.
But Japan alone isnt enough to help Sony beat the 360. So yep, with FF13 going to 360 Sony are in trouble.

But Sony have really taken a big hit with FF13 going to the 360. It was one of the major reasons for getting a PS3 over a 360.
Sony really have to make a major announcement tomorrow to recover from this big blow.

I am not talking about sales. But interms of what we the consumers are getting from the console manufacturers.
Introducing bigger harddrives at the same price point is not the solution. Outright price cuts are what is needed to move more consoles.

PS3 could have been doing better than it is but the price is still too much for the regular bloke.
Even with great casual games like LBP coming, its still doesnt warranty spending $700 on the PS3 when you can get a Wii way cheaper than that.

No, not interms of the software there are so many awesome games coming up and already out. But its the hardware were mainly Sony and MS are failing big time.
We have now lost count of how many 360 SKUs are out. Sony are also doing the same as well. Its really confusing for people contemplating to buy one. Why couldnt both Sony and MS stuck to one or two SKUs and then given people the option to upgrade the hard drive to suit their taste? By selling bigger harddrives seperately.
Last generation we had only one xbox, one PS2 (later slimmed down) and one Gamecube. Now we have so many SKUs from Sony and MS and that just shows a lack of clear forward thinking from them in the first place.

Its now two years into this geneation and we still have consoles above 500 hundred dollars. Its still a lot of money for casual gamers. And thats one main reason Sony and MS are losing out to the Wii.
