Re: Instruments and whatnot (2 years ago)
im a drummer and man i love me some drums. really gotta give the pro kit a try for rockband
ok your thingy isnt there though i agree with your facebook rant...however that 1 is a bit obvious and the only people who would agree with you most likely share your views already. hell the only reason my facebook is more then my name is because my wife created her own account and exposed me to googles information clutching claws.
also to that the only reason my dads passing was released on facebook was because everyone sent me condolences over it (bastards!)...i assume because email is too slow for them anymore *shrugs*
in anycase on religion, or any topic forthat matter, as soon as someone starts a sentence with "i believe" i instantly turn off because the next thing they will spew forth from their mouth is unresearched and always wrong.
for example "i believe in theraputic touch therapy, crystals, astrology etc"
however i do look forward to your next bits and pieces

Re: Video Game Charity (2 years ago)
yeah man 3 weeks from when he went into hospital.
but on a bright note i handed it in today and it went a bit half half....see i kept it such a secret that they were given a new 1 already. but it didnt diminish the moment it only made me have to wait for the end result because maria (their step mother) said she would put it away until they get more cords then give it to them. *sigh* something is gonna eventaully work they way i want it to soon. though she did promise not to tell them until i was there after she gets cords. so hopefully i get to report good news soon.
though i am very glad it kind of worked this way because there are certainly going to be less fights over game time at their house and thats good enough for me.
though i would have loved to have seen their faces when they received it...being the only ps2 because even when i do get this charity happening it would have been the only time i would have gotten to see that so as to not let pride get in the way of good deeds.
cheers sony

Re: Video Game Charity (2 years ago)
ok finally an update, things have been crazy the past week so no chance to get much organised.
however it seems to resiter a charity i have to
1) apply in writting
2) advertise a notice of objection in a brisbane paper and 1 other paper that has at least 5 issues a week
3) have 3 or more people in my organisation
also i need all this
Register the organisation
To register as a charity:
complete Collections Form 1 - Application for registration (PDF, 212 KB)
attach a copy of the organisation's constitution certified by two governing body members
attach a copy of the resolution or minutes where the organisation resolved to apply for registration certified by two governing body members
attach a copy of the organisation's most recent balance sheet or a statement of its financial affairs
attach the central body's written consent (if an organisation's branch applies)
lodge the entire application (see the forms for lodgement options).
i think i might have to do the ring around. this is very convoluted, though i imagine its because of so much fraud
anyway on with the show...

I reckon a charity that gives games consoles to kids that deserve a break, but can't otherwise afford them, is a great idea. However, before you decide to start it, I would suggest talking to someone who can advise you on the legal side of things. After all, if something goes wrong, you're still liable, and some people will sue a charity if they can. You need to find out things like whether or not you have to have some sort of electrical certificate if you're giving things out second hand, what happens if you give someone something and it fails, whether or not you can give out MA rated games etc. I don't mean to be a wet blanket or anything, but I'd hate to see someone trying to do the right thing go completely broke because someone decides to sue them for something that's not really important.

my guess is that SONY is happy just giving and wouldnt expect karma to repay him.
but you do realise what you've done here dont you sony? your extreme generosity has inspired me to try and do more for kids in these situations.
i wonder if i could get government funding? in anycase i guess the next step is a blue card....i just hope i have enough stuff here, after i get set up, to keep me going until i can get the word out.
Re: Video Game Charity (2 years ago)

Video Game Charity (2 years ago)
ok maybe a strange request, but this is the best place to try.
Now we have a foster house up the road with 11 disabled kids and their ps2 just crapped out. So, I was wondering if anyone had a spare fat ps2 that could sell for cheap or even donate. They've limited capacity and that was their main entertainment. They still have all the cords and what not so its just the console itself. I only have 1 slim model otherwise I'd just give them mine for the good karma.
Even still if anyone knows how to repair them if I cover postage...basically it keeps freezing up.
So yeah please as cheap as possible, cause it is for a good cause and maybe someone here has a few fat models. ANY help be appreciated.
Cheers

Why can't Hollywood get some new ideas instead of remaking older movies, when these remakes are a load of tripe it just tarnishes the image of the original movies.
but i am not sure on this 1...HUGE freddy fan since i saw part 4 in cinemas and i think the story has been changed too much.....from what ive read so far it seems to be that he was innocent b4 getting burned and then came back for revenge. (is that right?) and if that is the case then they have ruined him...the fact he was so evil in life and death is what makes him so great.
i do like the make up on this 1 though....good to see they actually took the nose off like a real burn victim would have.
will soon see in any case
Re: How old are Palgn users (3 years ago)
32 in about a week. man im on the older end of this poll

There are also a lot of functioning charities out there that you could actually put on said event for, which I’m sure they would be happy to support.
Those guys who play desert bus for charity make thousands. If you could think up something equally hilarious and get some publicity you could probably get a fair bit together.
Not to mention you could probably get sponsorship from some companies. I know MadMan/Crumpler and the like are usually more than happy to donate some DVD’s/Bag’s as long as you bang one of their logo’s somewhere on the day.
Keep us posted on where you end up with this.
