JB is doing a Trade 2 Deal for these games. Preordered them today.
Re: Amazon (2 years ago)
Buy a Giftcard for the amount and apply it to the order

Well this just got lame.

Seems to be a discrepancy with the Harvey Norman 250gb Kinect bundle. Posts on Ecogamer report that HN are saying it is the console and 2 Kinect games only. I've been told the same by a store.
Preordered this today at my local HN. In the catalogue there are two product codes in the description. If they search the product code on the computer system the first will come up with the 250GB Xbox Kinect bundle (S7G-00018) and the second product code is for Dance Central (D9G-00002).
So the PAL LBP2 Collector's Edition was posted on the EU PS Blog last night and its the poor cousin of the US version. So we get less DLC and none of the merchandise. I've placed an order through Amazon for the US version and it comes to US$99.80 inc expedited international shipping.

Hi there Sack-folk! Hopefully you’ve been enjoying some of the LittleBigPlanet 2 “Featurette” trailers over the last few weeks – if you missed them, be sure to go back and check out Sackbots and The Creatinator for an insight into some of the insanely huge possibilities that these new features offer. There will plenty more new trailers popping up in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.

We’ve got lots of other bits of cool LBP news to share as we get closer to January, and I think the best place to start is with some details of what you’ll actually be holding in your hands when the release date comes around.

First of all, here’s a glimpse at the standard edition packshot for Europe and other PAL countries…

But even more excitingly, here are the details many of you have been waiting for about the Limited Collector’s Edition…

The LittleBigPlanet 2 Limited Collector’s Edition comes wrapped in striking SteelBook packaging. The pic above shows the full package – the various logos are on a transparent outer sleeve, which slides off to leave you with a clean and iconic image of Sackboy’s iconic zip.

It’s also packed with some cool exclusive DLC content – in addition to five PSN avatars, there are seven brand new Sackboy costumes that should serve as perfect inspiration for your new creations:

* Disney / Pixar’s Toy Story 3′s “Alien” Costume
* Disney’s TRON: Legacy “Clu” Costume
* The Muppets’ “The Great Gonzo” Costume
* Even More Animals’ “Crocodile” Costume
* Even More Animals’ “Vulture” Costume
* Even More Animals’ “Cobra” Costume
* Even More Animals’ “Mandrill” Costume

The LittleBigPlanet 2 Collector’s Edition will be available in different ways across Europe and the other PAL countries, with all kinds of different additional goodies on offer, so keep your eyes open for more details about release plans in your country.

And speaking of additional goodies – there are four other exclusive costumes for you to look out for: iconic PlayStation heroes Jak, Daxter, Ratchet and Clank. These will be available as pre-order bonuses and, again, the exact way that you can get your hands on them will vary by country.

That’s it for now – but it just scratches the surface of the cool stuff we’re getting ready to share with you soon… icon_smile.gif
Ask to see their memo book instore. It says there that you get extraction aswell.
According to EB and GAME, the release date in Aus is 27 Jan 11.

RE: The Collectors Edition that we will receive in Aus, according to the EB rep on Twitter, the PS3 version here will contain the replica cutter and also extraction. So it looks like we are getting the contents of the NA version.

Re: Your newest purchase (2 years ago)

Picked this up from David Jones for $15 (marked at $119.95). Was suprised to see it on the shelf as I've been to this store a couple times in the past months and it was never there before. I wanted them to pricematch JB for $29 but when they phoned up the person said it was $15 and thats what he sold it to me for.

Plasma Cutter is for the American release only, sorry to disappoint.
Is that official? I remember we received the Dragon Age Origins CE with the tin which is also a EA game, but in the UK the only CE they got was the edition that was sold at GAME and JB here (CE with the plastic box and no cloth map).
This is the PS3 EU Version. As you can see it contains no replica of the Plasma Cutter. Probably what we will end up getting.

All North American versions of the CE contain the Plasma Cutter. The PS3 version also contains extraction.
Bumping an old thread.

The Dead Space 2 CE has been announced.

Included in all versions of the Collector’s Edition:

• Dead Space 2 game
• Downloadable Unitology Suit and Force Gun, providing Isaac with unique benefits when used in Dead Space 2.
• Dead Space 2 Original Soundtrack on CD; features an hour of music compiled from the game's score.
• Concept art lithograph depicting Necromorph transformation by Visceral Games artist Brett Marting.

*Exclusive bonus content on Xbox 360 and PC only:
• Replica of Isaac’s trusty Plasma Cutter, modeled from the new design from Dead Space 2.

*Exclusive to the PlayStation 3 pack only:
• The critically acclaimed Dead Space Extraction. See how it all began in the PlayStation® Move supported prequel to Dead Space, available for the first time in HD.
• Downloadable Rivet Gun for use in-game.

European Limited Edition: Game, Soundtrack, Mask
Just announced as a GAME exclusive in the UK and is preorderable from their website - http://www.game.co.uk/search.aspx?s=+Castlevania%3A+Lords+of+Shadow+Collectors+Edition+%28Game+Exclusive%29+Castlevania%3A+Lords+of+Shadow+Colle&cm_mmc=Twitter-_-Digital-_-CastlevaniaCE-_-Link .

There is no mention of it not being able to be shipped to here, but GAME's policy is not ship anything over 1kg overseas.
Yes I can understand why Europe and the US have better prices than we do. What I was trying to get at was the pricing in our region (Australia and New Zealand).

All Microsoft published games have the pretty much same RRP (4 cents difference) except that we are paying in AUD and they are paying in NZD.

Eg.
Crackdown 2 - AUD$99.95/NZD$99.99
Halo: Reach Legendary Edition - AUD$219.95/NZD$219.99

We should have some sort of price benefit over NZ, but Microsoft does not seem to think so.
You can preorder the Legendary Edition from Fishpond.co.nz for around AUD$140-50 delivered. You can make it even cheaper by signing up to their Newsletter and using a coupon.

The price on the website is NZD$189.95 (usual Fishpond discounting), but at checkout when you select Australia it comes down to NZD$168.xx (because I think they remove GST). You have to add delivery which is NZD$9.95 and then you can also use a Fishpond coupon such as ‘HELPFISH34′ ($5off) to bring the cost down further + $1 credit for signing up to their newsletter.

Still after converting at the current exchange rate the cost is around the AUD$140-50 mark delivered which is a saving of around AUD$70-80 off the price of retailers here.
I was recently browsing www.Mightyape.co.nz (a NZ retailler) and happened to look at the prices of Halo Reach (specifically the Legendary Edition) and I noticed that the NZ RRP was the same as that in Australia. I then looked at a bunch of other comparisons and in general the RRP in NZ was higher than in Aus with the exception of Microsoft published games. Crackdown 2, Fable 3 Standard and the Collectors Ed, Alan Wake Standard and Collectors Ed and the other editions of Halo Reach all have the same RRP in Australia and NZ.

The Halo Reach Legendard Edition is perhaps the best example to use of the price comparison because after currency conversion the difference is about $40 - ($180 vs $220). The difference is quite substantial.

There are reasons why our costs are higher to other places around the world (Europe and America) due to our lack of population size, tax etc. But these rules do not seem to apply to our own region.

*NZ has a GST of 12.5% compared to our 10%. If base prices were the same then the NZ price should be higher because of their additional tax.
*NZ has a population about 20% the size of Australia and its overall population is less than Sydney.
*NZD has always been weaker to the AUD.

Also of note is that the RRP of Microsoft Hardware (including consoles) is higher in NZ than in Aus, but still cheaper in NZ after conversion.

Seems that we in Aus always cop the short end of the stick on pricing in the games industry.

I'll be voting for the Liberal Party. I'd classify myself as a Conservative in the traditional sense where I don't like to see radical change and this is the party that is closest to my belief system.

I also believe in smaller government and I believe Labour is too close to the Unions to do anything about it.

I don't like the idea of Federal takeovers especially if the Government has a poor record of implementation of their initiatives (Insulation, School Revolution). This makes me especially uneasy about the proposed takeover of the Health system. The NSW Government is doing pretty badly right now and I still believe that they would do a better job at running Health than the Cth because Canberra is just too far away from the action.

Regarding the GFC I believe it was business and not the government that got us out of that one. The government really had to do one thing and that was to ensure that our banks did not fail and I give the Rudd government credit for that because they put in that bank guarantee so there would not be a run on the banks. I believe the stimulus was too much and really when you look at it the most effective part was the free money as that helped boost business and consumer confidence. The other parts of the plan were largely plagued by mismanagement and poor implementation especially with insulation.

Out of the two leaders I prefer Tony Abbott and I also don't mind him, though I'd pick someone like Andrew Robb or Joe Hockey over him. I dislike Kevin Rudd because I perceive him to be arrogant and to have delusions of grandeur about Australia's international importance. He should focus more on the homefront.

My vote in the end probably won't matter much because I live in one of the safest Liberal seats in the country and I don't intend to try to marginalise for the sake of it.
Got mine today from GAME in NSW.

Re: NRL 2010 (3 years ago)
I feel sorry for the fans of the Storm. However as I said in the what made you smile thread I believe a big slice of karma was served out to that evil created out of the mess that was Superleague. News Ltd's involvement with the game ripped out the heart and soul of Australian RL and they deserve what they got. Even with their 2 premierships stripped they still have more than the Sharkies icon_razz.gif

I still havent watched a regular season game since 1999 because my team was booted out of the competition because we tried to do what the NRL asked us to do.

They said North Sydney Oval was not suitable as a NRL venue, yet Souths played there is 2004. We put our hands up to move to Central Coast because of this and the guarantee of a regional licence and part funded the stadium with the help of the NSW Govt, but of course bad weather prevented construction to be completed in a timely manner so we were a nomadic club playing home games all over the places including in QLD. The football club went broke trying to do what the NRL wanted us to do. No other side was willing to relocate. Then we were forced into a merger with Manly (the stupidest idea ever because we were traditional rivals), but our leagues club still kicked in 10million + the merger money we got.

I hope that we reenter the NRL soon and we get to finally use the stadium that we built, but I feel that this scandal will damage the game and it might mean that there is a prolonged period of consolidation before they consider expansion again. Melbourne stratigically is too important to the NRL to let them die, but they are still a souless club that I will always hate.
Melbourne Storm being stripped of 2 Premierships, 3 Minor Premierships, Fined $500k, Have to return $1.1million in prize money, Stripped of 2010 competition points and cannot accrue anymore this year.

Thats some serious karma for the organisation (News Ltd -owner of the Storm) that in my view destroyed Rugby League in this country. I still haven't watched a regular season game live or on TV since 1999. I lost my team because of this mob.
Re: Your newest purchase (3 years ago)

Splinter Cell Conviction LCE + preorder bonuses - $119 @ GAME pricematching JB (Used the trade-in deal sometime in 2009 for a deposit and also used a gamerewards voucher. So in the end considerably less)
SMT: Strange Journey + CD - USD$39.95 from estarland

Also preordered Avatar on Bluray via the following trade deal @ JB. Even though it says any in the ad, it still uses the same exclusions list as their trade 3 deals.

HN in QV had a fair few copies of Left 4 Dead 2 but it had a way higher price on it so I didn't bother grabbing it. Are these meant to be marked at 5 or just scan at 5?
They had stickers on the plastic shell box thingy saying price reduced to $5. The guy was reducing them while I was there. HN are franchises so prices vary between stores.

Re: Your newest purchase (3 years ago)

Left 4 Dead - $5 @ HN 4 Day Game Sale
Left 4 Dead 2 - $5 @ HN 4 Day Game Sale
Resonance of Fate - $89 @ EB via Pricematch with GAME
GAME's trade values in their computer system do not always match their catalogue trade prices. They usually manually adjust the values when they have special trade value promotions in their catalogues (Thats what happened last time anyway). Looking at the catalogue posted in the Bargains Thread it doesn't start till Wednesday going by the fact that the UFC promo runs for 7 days and ends on 13/4.

There were 2 versions of the CE released in Australia and only the steelcase one exclusive to EB had the Cloth Map.
