The Orange Box is such a bargain, this is definitely the stand out for this week.
I agree, but most of us got it for $9.99 US this time last year.
Now that was awesome.
I just thought. How are they going to know that I have the Foxtel connection in my house?
Would I be able to just give the address (or however you apply for it) of my nans house?

I hope this is free for Xbox Live Gold subscribers/Foxtel subscribers, it's $80 a year for a service Sony have been quick to catch up on.
I read somewhere that it was free if you are both a Foxtel and a Xbox Live Gold subscriber.

Instead of getting no money from me, they could if they just offered the ability to pick channels, with no minimum to how many you can buy.
If only! I only want Foxtel for the documentary channels like Discovery, Discovery Science and History.
I'm quite happy to pay $15 to further the life of my game and considering I bought it for $77, after two map packs it'll have only cost me around $107; which isn't dissimilar to what we usually pay for games here anyway.
It should also be noted that all these signatories are over 18. I asked if I was able to sign it, and was told no.

If only I hadn't read this on Tuesday, on Eurogamer. A site more geared to a European audience.
Yeah, I read it on that eBay auction on Monday.

Worst weekend deal ever.
Agreed.
I even preloaded the game because I was going to play it with my pc gamer friends.
When I went to play it last night, I get an error and it tells me that I need to download more. I looked it up and it was 15GB. Yeah, screw that.

its only beating BFBC because people had to PAY and DOWNLOAD it. Whereas the majority of the BFBC2 gamers got theirs for FREE !!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this for ALL DLC? Regardless of pricing?
Either way your theory is a bit stupid. If people had a choice of paying for something or getting it for free, which one would more people download? The free one obviously. Which in this case, hasn't happened.

$15 for 3 maps is a rip off and everyone knows it.
But a good majority of the millions that play CoD will buy it, and everyone knows it.
Looks like they've met their revenue amount from sales of their own memory units.
Just wondering, would you guys be able to do a 'Weekly Steam'? or something similar. Lately there have been many sales that have different things on throughout the week.
Re: PC Gaming ain't dead (3 years ago)
No way is it dying.
I personally have converted myself to PC gaming. Recently purchasing games over Steam (mainly due to their sales) and playing them way more than the 20 games I own on 360.

I've noticed two songs that play in my local EB recently are;

* My Drive Thru- Santigold, Pharrell Williams and Julian Casablancas
* 11th Dimension- Julian Casablancas.
I'll youtube those 2 2mr...hopefully they will be ones I heard and liked icon_wink.gif

Btw, that "oh...oh...." song may supposed to be "gone.....gone......"
I really can't tell....and it hasn't been played during my recent visits to eb so I haven't had a chance to ask the staff.
The 'oh..oh..' song is All You Girls by Franz Ferdinand. Every time I have visited my local EB Games in the past year it has been playing. You'd think that the workers would get sick of it?

I should just note that you will need to have the ODST disc in your console for you to be able to access the beta.
So you have to have the disc in when your playing it? Or just the disc in once to download?

The apps one the iPad aren't smartphone apps, they are a lot more fleshed out I guess, compared to the iPhone ones.
I guess we'll just have to see how many app developers use this as their new platform. I highly doubt many of them will (considering the other apps work on it too), but it'll be interesting to see the 3rd party apps made for it.

Is it just me or does a 10" version of Flight Control sound like fun?
Just wondering if you are able to get the sale numbers. It's all well and good to compare it to other games by rank, but i want the raw statistics. icon_smile.gif

If you're waiting for a great video-game movie adaption - wait no longer, Red Cliff based on the Romance of the Three Kingdoms fits the dynasty warriors games so amazingly well. While its not directly based on a video game per se, I really felt all the characters come to life in this movie (without the shocking voice acting from the games). Its an epic 4 hour 45 minute movie and not a moment is wasted. At the end of it I really felt it was one of John Woo's best movies, so different from his old HK movies The Killer and Hard Boiled or Bullet in the Head, and some similarities to Windtalkers. He says he's really proud of it and I agree. One thing that I wasn't expecting was how well he directed his actors, many directors really don't realise the full scope of his characters, and well given that he has almost 5 hours to work with, his characters all feel real.

Anyways - what is your best game-movie adaption?

My previous best game-movie adaption was Silent Hill, but this has beaten it by a long shot.
I must ask, did you watch the movie length version (the one show in Australian cinemas) which is 2 and a half hours or the full length version which is over 4 hours. I've only finished the first part of the full length and its absolutely stunning.

And just a clarification, it isn't based off the video game, but rather a document called 'Records of Three Kingdoms' which the novel 'Romance of the Three Kingdoms' was adapted from and the video game of the same name was taken from that novel. icon_smile.gif

Actually I think that 'Choose your super-up ability' suits this game because there are many Spartans this time round, and in the book the spartans did have a diversity as to who was good at what.

Kelly could run, Linda could snipe, Sam was strong, John is only lucky and a good leader.

So this kind of adds to the feeling of their being more then just one Spartan imo.
I haven't read the book(s), I apologise. But wouldn't that be just based on they're physical attributes as a human, and not applied to the armour?

The game will have enhanced armour abilities where you can choose a super-up ability, such as sprint or camouflage, and use them until a rechargeable meter runs out.

Anyone here a fan of the RPD? I have a few mates who use em religiously and rack up the kills, but I can't seem to get the knack for it.
I used the RPD heaps in CoD4. But in MW2 it seems way too overpowered for my liking. Sure, getting kills is fun, but I find that the LMGs make it not so fun. Some people use them like SMGs and just run into houses spraying and I just don't find that fun.

I thought they fixed the 'Care Package Marker Knife' thing. It's ridiculous how fast these guys run, even worse in yellow connection.

I'm thinking about pre-ordering BioShock 2: Rapture Edition from JB HiFi with a bonus T-Shirt. I'm just worried that I'll receive a Large shirt, or more likely a XL.
Previous experiences with gaming shirts have put this worry in my mind, I won a competition for 'Battle of the Bands' on Wii a while ago and all the shirts were XL.
Do they just assume that all gamers are large? Or do they have fabric left over?
If you are keen of Vg Tees, Try this site out

they got wide range of tees hopefully should fit u well.
Thanks, but I'm not really after gaming shirts. It was just the off chance that this was a bonus in a pre-order and it looks alright. icon_smile.gif
I've bought DLC for my iPod Touch (TTR3 Songs) and my 360. On the 360 its mainly just songs for gh and rockband or the map packs for halo and cod4. I'm sure it all adds up to quite a hefty a amount though.

Dang!
I just went there randomly on Friday (yesterday). Won't be able to make it today.
Good luck guys. Hope all goes to plan.
So I want to buy DJ Hero Renegade at Game for $99.
Only problem is that I'm currently holidaying at Surfers Paradise.. and i flew up here.
Is it worth buying it and paying the $10(?) for excess baggage?
Any idea if these sales will be just limited to tomorrow?
I'm flying to the Gold Coast on Sunday so I don't really want to buy anything at the moment. Any chance they'll still be running on Monday the 28th?

How do any 15 year olds get into MA15+ movies? It's not exactly unusual these days for them to have ID.
It sure isn't and as far as I know any student can go to the office and get one made up.
Everyone in my school has them since we converted from roll call to a swipe card system last year.
Trying to find an intelligent discussion on Cybergamer. Was instead told after a while of arguing that i'm probably used to civilised forums like PALGN.
<3 you guys.
