Re: New! Super Mario Bros. Wii (3 years ago)
man, i really wish they'd remove the wii-shake thing. like, i know the shake is all the wii has got to offer and they couldn't possibly sell a mario game that doesnt incorporate the wii controller, but it's so tacked on and pointless. controlling the character should feel natural. i don't know if its just good design or the fact it's been infused in our brains by now, but there is NO thought process involved behind pressing a button to control something. compaire that to having to randomly shake the controller to pick up an object and it's a clumsy, unnatural and all round crappy way to play the game. playing mario 3/world, not ONCE did i have any trouble picking up a turtle shell.
(sorry if this post is hard to read but its more of a rant other than any properly structured piece of writing).
other than that, i have NOTHING against this game. totally solid platforming

How are you guys playing? Do you collect all the star coins, then move on to the next level, or just collect the ones you see and move on? I'm doing the former (same as NSMB) and I must say some of them damn coins are annoying to collect.
Admittedly, this game hasn't sucked me in as much as other Mario titles, but I'm still having a lot of fun with it.

Re: New! Super Mario Bros. Wii (3 years ago)
got this today and it's pretty fantastic.
jumped straight into 2 player and had heaps of fun, but it really shines as a single player game. im looking forward to beating it and getting myself accustomed to the game, and then coming back to it as a multiplayer experience. should be good

I would have loved to see a 2D Mario in all it's glory.
it's a dream of mine that they make a new platforming mario, using HD graphics, that uses 2D animation instead of 3d. mimicking the style of the art seen in the manuels. can you imagine this kind of mario but fully animated and all high res and beautiful *drools*

Re: GameCube Memory Cards (3 years ago)

Re: GameCube Memory Cards (3 years ago)
haha yeah. i ended up getting a 3rd party ( i figured getting a new 3rd party more or less has the same reliability as a 2nd official one off ebay ).. although, i'm still gonna keep my eyes open for a new one if any stores still stock them PLEASE LET ME KNOW
have my memory card, borrowing my friends copy of wind waker.. all i need now is a controller which is currently on it's way from play-asia.com.
CAN'T WAIT

Re: GameCube Memory Cards (3 years ago)
yeah, i've read that they're generally fine. i'm just paranoid at the idea of it going corrupt or something! which is why i'd be happier to go with an official card.
but really, if the 3rd party is just as reliable..

GameCube Memory Cards (3 years ago)
hi. looking to buy a gamecube memory card (to play on the wii). not too sure if i can trust 3rd party products which is why im looking for an official nintendo card, but they're hard to find new.
anyone know of any stores that will ship to australia new/official gamecube memory cards? i tried calling some local gametraders and they have 2nd hand/3rd party in stock and i'm not sure if it's worth it.
any help or advice greatly appreciated!

Re: mgs: the essential collection - pal release? (5 years ago)
so with swap magic, you have to insert the SM disc prior to every time you wanna play an over seas disc?
Re: mgs: the essential collection - pal release? (5 years ago)
damn!
i only just found out about this release, and the 30 dollar price tag on amazon.com got me really excited.
i dont have the substance or subsistence versions of the games and man this collection would've been a convinient release!

Does anyone know if Metal Gear Solid: the essential collection is getting a PAL or australian release?
all i can find is this link saying it's "doubtful".
