yea there were like 13 though. Anyway system reformatted and deleted windows etc. its working now.
yeah its fantastic fun, not a huge fan of the new score system though, whenever I get a kill some B*stard runs up and steals it. Im considering the **GASP** glitch so i can just have fun and not worry about it

well in order to reformat i need a windows xp disc.
doubt it. Anyway:

I know i will probably have to system restore. Anyway due to the reason i cant open task manager that obviously causes issues. If no one else has a fix, would it be possible for someone to burn me an xp disc so I can install it? I have a legalproduct key etc.
At around 10pm tonight, I went to my pc and noticed that IE was slow, i was geting popups and no images were loading. I was sure i had a virus. After checking task manager 75 tasks were running, including many svchosts.exe etc. I frantically deleted many of these tasks I was sure were viruses, before restarting and downloading AVG. I then ran AVG and found over 300 virus threats, to which all but 5 got deleted, and then it required a restart again. However after that startup took a very long amount of time and when it acutally did start up only hte backround loaded, no icons etc. Task manager would not work under any circumstance so i could type in explorer.exe. I also tried to run it in safe mode under administrator and user account, to which niether worked. I have decided I will most likely need to restore and was wonering how to do that?
Im ususally up for it eh. Im really, really dissapoined with the 'Region filter" which doesnt exist.

Civ Rev: 1000/1000 : Fun game, but got tedious at times. took me ages trying to get the last great leader.

However you have really skipped over the point there that LETTING PEOPLE RETURN GAMES AS A SELLING POINT and then reselling them as brand new as not to recoup a loss is also unethical. So bassically your fine with one side of the spectrum but dont want to see the full picture. Your fine with being able to return the bigs on ps2 but then are pissed off when you get a scratch on your disney sing it game.

People have every right to buy a game and then either trade it back in OR return it if the store is stupid enough to let them. If there is a glut of second hand copies? so what! at least it means those second hand "insert game" will probably be in much better condition than the 2nd rate 'BRAND NEW" game you are about to buy.
Well I had no problem with doing the halo wars thing, I bought one, sold the code for $100 and had the game scott free. If someone wants to do that 20 times, good on them. Its worth what peolpe are going to pay- Its not theft if people sell the thing then return them, because 1. the EB can reject it, and 2. EB SHOULDNT BE SELLING THEIR GAMES AS BRAND NEW THEN. If they sell a game to someone and it is returned after 7 days it is not new. Furthermore some games are 'eb rented' multiple times and end up a second hand disc anyway. If you bought it form JB you would be sure that your getting a code, instead your buying from a company who cannot assure it unless its sealed, TOUGH LUCK.

As for trading in 3 games. Its an opportunity waiting to be done! why frown on the people out to make an entrepanurial dollar for themselves!? they need to go to the hard work of buying games, trading em then taking the risk that they may make a profit, and in most cases sell the game for cheaper than RRP anyway. I missed out on a few DSE things last time and sure i was slightly dissapointed, but thats my fault for not getting my priorities right and turning up early.

You woudlnt buy an opened pc game, so why buy an opened console game? If your so pedantic about a missing code by them from a retailer that assures the games are new, simple as that.

Some staff dont even check if the disc is scratched! Ill confess once I returned a game after 7 days that I had played quite thouroughly and didnt look totally new, and they just accepted it without second thought. If your going to create a regime where people can borrow them for a week to decide live with the consequences.


FINALLY> the halo wars box doesnt even say it includes the MYTHIC CODES. its just an added extra.

Well in the end thats EB's fault for trying to flog games that have been used at new, and it should spite them. Hey I like the 'eb rental' system, however if you buy a new game, you expect it to be new, and this is one of the backfalls of that system. if people buy it and it doesnt have a code, too bad, buy it at a store that sells new games. Its not like the disc will be broken in half, they will just miss out on a mythic map code if indeed they by the metal case edition

I saw that show on it the other day and it seems interesting enough, tried torrenting but only got to like 1.82 gig then stopped. I like all those old comedies, any ideas of where i could watch it on the net or whatever?
yeah I meant to call myself rabscallion. And im not 'Pedantic over the pronounciation of the pun, I just fail to see how any of you could find it funny if you have to read it multiple times and struggle to get it because the name doesnt actually sound like genitalia. Sure the other ones can pass because they acutally SOUND like something like Ben Dover, or have a funny connotation when abbreviated like Richard Head. However having to acutally explain just why Jenny Taylor is funny to alot of people and having to to it multiple time ruins the whole point of it. How many of you can honestly say they picked up they were meant to change Taylor to Talia straight away.

Game is awesome... Too awesome.

People think the game doesnt have depth , yet little they realise it is totally does. Each race has a completely unique playstyle, and characters that lean towards certain things ( eg Cutter: infantry: etc) they also all have unique bombing attacks and weapons etc. The online is sweet, mostly because its all aussie atm. the games are usually 20-30 minutes and it is fun figuring out the tactics as there are no 'build guidses' etc atm. So far my win loss ratio is about 5-2 icon_biggrin.gif
