This is bittersweet since they're taking Parks & Rec off the air for a month and a bit, it's still the best sitcom right now imo. It's a shame Parks & Rec and Community don't get good ratings, WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE?
Trying my hand at Dragon Quest VIII. It's been a LONG time coming, since I originally bought this for the FFXII demo, yet the actual game that came with it never got played...until now. The cell-shading style looks great despite it being more than half a decade old, and I like the tone of the story so far, seems very light-hearted and nothing melodramatic. Looking forward to sink many hours into this.
I'm gonna wait for the reviews to come out before making a decision on The Last Story. If it's something that progresses the JRPG genre like Xenoblade then I definitely will get it.

This is $38 or so shiped from zavi/hut now.
Time to jump on the bandwagon now? You know you want to icon_razz.gif.
Don't forget i think you might need a UK account for the dlc....
You don't, Australian accounts can download the DLC even if it's the European/UK version of the game. My copies of Ico/SotC and Arkham City were from the UK and I had no issues downloading DLC.
Jeremy Lin with the buzzer beater. This whole thing doesn't even feel real anymore, unbelievable...

BLOOD OF MY BLOOD!!

Anyone know if ozgameshop sends out a shipping confirmation when your orders been posted?
Yes they do, the email will have the subject "Your ozgameshop.com order has been despatched".
It took 90 hours over a span of 5 months, but Xenoblade is finally done! The final area takes a while, so make sure you have a good 2 hours to spare before moving on from the point of no return. The final boss gave me serious problems on my first attempt, so I grinded for a few levels and managed to take him down on my second try. It's been an awesome journey from start to end. The world and its different locations were a blast to explore and a feast for the eyes, Wii graphics and all, which makes it more impressive imo.
Jeremy Lin, I'm proud of that guy. Hope he can keep it up!

Whilst it's rather obvious that it's an updated job system, I think the primary issue was that it took an already existing "take" with it as when I first played it (and suitably threw a tantrum at all the 0.1% scenes BS I missed on my way to missing mascot) I immediately wondered why Sailor Moon was deemed a brilliant idea for transformation sequences. Because whilst I had no problem with the job system, I saw a consistent effort to get a womans naked outline on a screen during the transition, and lady luck, well, skimpy harlot really it just felt cheap and nasty when the game largely attempts to be bright and bubbly. It's just over the top in some cases and comes off as insulting to the senses.
Fair points, but those transformation sequences can be turned off iirc.
RE: the subtitle

I'm so sick of people dismissing FFX-2 as "playing dress ups". If they had bothered to play the game they'd know that it's an updated and unique version of the Job System, and a very good one at that. Get over it.

/* End rant */
Defeated the first boss in Demon's Souls last night, what a strangely addictive game. You're afraid to go forward because you don't know what's lurking around the corner, yet you do it anyway. The combat is a lot of fun although my parrying skills need more improvement.

I really want to fight those two dragons...
Re: Skill Testers (1 year ago)
Skill testers are like gambling for me, I get too addicted and it's always "just one more go, just one more go...". Sometimes I can get like 3 things for $5, other times 0 for $10. I think the safest thing to do is to play like $20 worth, then run out of there once the amount is reached, because $20 can easily turn to $50 if you don't stop...

These things are quite popular in Taiwan and the machines are generally fair. In Sydney I only play the ones at Capital Square, which does have some pretty good stuff. Never bothered with the ones in cinemas because they always look dodgy and usually have crappy prizes. Why I would try to get candy when I can get it in a supermarket/newsagent/vending machine with a 100% success rate, lol.
Man...just found out that Amazon UK doesn't have the free shipping option to Australia for orders over £25 anymore. This really sucks, it was great for buying books and blu-rays icon_sad.gif

Dad (he's a store manager at OPSM) was just telling me that an Arabian guy came into one of the Melbourne city stores and bought a pair of sunglasses worth $18,000! He paid in cash.
My first thought was this song:

Finally finished Rez!! (with the worst possible ending though T_T) The music was great, and the levels were amazingly trippy. Might try to unlock more stuff before moving on to something else...

Spoilers aside, is it as obvious a story arc (guy gets turned) as it seems? I liked the first episode, but I felt as if they could have held back on some of the revealing plot points until later in the season.
The show is really unpredictable, lots of "OH SH**!!" moments throughout the season. Keep watching! icon_biggrin.gif
Yep great show, Claire Danes & Damian Lewis are fantastic in this. The finale was tense as hell, it was awesome television. Can't wait to see what they do in season 2.
Ahh, felt so good to beat Lorithia inside Bionis Interior. Was having a super hard time trying to find the right strategy because nothing seemed to work, kept getting my ass handed to me. My level was lower than the boss', but I didn't think Xenoblade's the type of game to make you grind too much. Going with this belief, I glanced at Melia, and that was a big EUREKA! moment. Shortly after I was finally able to beat the boss icon_smile.gif

Not far from the end now, hurray!
Just scrap it and start work on FFXV.
Re: FFXIII-2 (1 year ago)
Demo impressions...

Pros:
* If you liked 13, chances are you'll like this too. They didn't change the formula that much, unlike 10 & 10-2.
* The battle system is still a lot of fun and require some strategy.
* Having monsters fighting alongside you was quite interesting, I can imagine this being a lot of fun in the full game.
* The two boss fights were great and SotC-esque.
* Graphics looked nice.

Cons:
* The characters you control still feel like they have no weight. Something just feels off when you're moving around the map.
* The puzzle sequence really broke up the flow of the game and not in a good way.
* The quasi-random battles.
* Ugh @ the QTEs. I purposely didn't complete some of them to see what was gonna happen, seems like they only affect the battle score.
* Voiceovers for NPCs got really annoying, not a fan.
* Cringe-worthy dialogue returns.
* WTF @ that Chocobo lady.
Watching a magic show at the Opera House this weekend, hoping that it'll be something similar to this:

Played and finished Super Meat Boy ... how does anyone manage to get through world 7!? That first stage has ragequit written all over it. Still very enjoyable and great fun in short bursts.
Cotton Alley? It's tough but if you just do a few levels per session you'll be able to finish it eventually. Finishing Cotton Alley and unlocking The Kid were my two biggest achievements in SMB, love that game.

I just ordered the Arrietty dvd/bluray combo + postcards set from amazon.co.uk I figured it's cheaper than watching it at a cinema and more convenient =p
I got that from Amazon UK as well. Very surprised that it checked out to be £14.16 and not £16.99 as listed. I played around with some other items and it seems like we Aussies get like ~17% off CDs and Blu-rays/DVDs, but not books. Does anyone have more info regarding this? I'm curious.
So Studio Ghibli's Arrietty is gonna be released in the cinemas here this week, then I found out that the movie just came out on blu-ray in UK, so I think I'll just order that instead of watching it on the big screen (which I think will be dubbed).
In the middle of A Storm of Swords book 1 at the moment, thought it was amusing that the people of Westeros treat marriage like it's fantasy sports.
I might take some proper shots tonight, but in the mean time, here's my prize winning photo from a Kotaku comp icon_razz.gif

This was the comp

It's always awesome to see other people's gaming collection, never gets old icon_biggrin.gif
Oh shit! Wild Arms is out on PSN!! I should get this on general principle right? Never played this before but have only heard good things about it.
