Making it multiplatform was just confusing as hell. They got greedy and paid the price... and now we pay half the price!

Mario Party 9
At long last! Next year will mark 5 years since the last Mario Party game. Since then, 4 Halo games and 5 Call of Duty's have been released.
Nice review, I don't think 150cc is that hard, especially if all you're aiming for is 1st place. If you could beat it first go, the game would last about 30 minutes. As for 3 starring it, well that's not something I expect to be able to do yet. Give me a few hundred hours online, then i'll come back to that and ace it with ease like Mario Kart Wii. I don't expect anyone to be good at this game for a long time, there's so many quirks to the tracks / jumps / gliding that it's silly to expect to win every race already.

As you said though, multiplayer is what the game's about. Having a lot of fun online!

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers is $9 at Kmart stores, don't worry what the sticker price says, scan it and see.
Great price, not the best game ever but very unique, with some great locations and moments. Far more memorable to me than FF13, and FF13 took five times more hours from my life.

Noticed Wario DIY was $14.88 in Target today when I went to get Mario 3D Land for $49. They said they had copies of Mario, but couldn't sell them because of a "glitch" in the system so I went to EB Games to price match. They said Target was pulling a marketing stunt and weren't happy. The nice girl still did the price match for me but said they don't normally do it unless the other store is selling the game. Where was I? Oh yeah, Wario DIY is a bloody fun tool to mess around with and worth picking up for that price even if you're not creative, there's some good ridiculous content already in there.

Aw, that's $7.60 cheaper than what I paid for Halo.

Samurai Warriors Chronicles(3DS) is $44.84 at Bigw. That's quite a good price, and it's sold out in the UK, so really I don't think you'd find it cheaper anywhere else.
That's a great deal, the game is rare as hell, I don't know what Tecmo-Koei were thinking. I almost imported a copy for $80 a while ago until I found a local one. Big W seemed to be the only store who got a decent shipment too, that's where I ended up getting mine a few months ago, and the game is fantastic. I think the free spotpass content is up to number 18 or 19 now. Still the best game on 3DS until Mario is out.
Yes. Finally you get it. You can take your hand off your dick now and go bully someone else.

If Beethoven was alive today he'd be making videogame music and nobody would have heard of him.
Buy the game, look on the back of the box and find out.

Well then why is human expression limited to creative works?
That's kind of a one sided way to look at things.

Are you saying that a video game, is a more important peice of humanity then love? Because love isn't a creative artwork? I mean personally I'd give up every game I own (Wich includes xenoblades) without a second thought for the woman I love.

But hell, even if we are just going to go by creative works. Seriously Xenoblades is what you'll bring to the table for games as art? You can have a faviourte game without deciding that a game is a pure form of art. I mean my faviourte game is Blazblue. I'm not going to argue that it's art though. It's just a fun game.

Xenoblade is a good JRPG that goes against conventions and does a lot right. Saying it's an example of the perfection of games as art is... way overselling it.

Oh and of course if you're an atheist (I'm assuming you're an atheist... or a really **** christian) you'd rate your fave game over god. My point was as far as human expression devoting your entire life to a higher cause (Be it god, revolution, helping others etc) is far more important then a good game.
Well, I really like it. I thought we established that. I've already said why as well, do you want more reasons? The skip travel feature, the affinity system, the delicious grass, the lively characters, the way quests interact with each other and change relationships, the foreboding atmosphere over the beautiful landscapes.

You've just said the same thing twice, so I will too (for the last time). I'm NOT COMPARING IT to love or higher causes, i'm comparing it to other artforms. Entertainment. I never said it was perfect either, so quit trying to conjure up reasons to be outraged and get something real to think about.
Re: Gaming Bargains V2 (1 year ago)
I just bought Saints Row 2 (X360) for $2.88 at Target too. The sticker price said $14 or something but it scanned at 2.88. Awesome game, i'm glad I found this so now I can get excited about the third one.

I saw Rhythm Heaven but didn't think to scan it, great price for that. Saw some copies of Soul Bubbles in the same area stickered at $14 (might scan cheaper), one of the best games on DS.
I don't consider them in the same category. Expression is COMMUNICATION, i'm talking about artforms, not religious wankery and outer body experiences. Music, paintings, cinema. Creative works, just to clear it up.

For the record, I would rate Xenoblade above god. Christ, I don't believe i'm being criticised for my enthusiasm about my favourite game. Deal with it.
Anyone know if the pre-order DLC will work from Europe over here if I import this from ozgameshop?

I hear hyperbole is the most ridiculous form of expressing an opinion.
I see you haven't played Xenoblade. There's still time.
Art.
I agree with Xenoblade Chronicles, I think it's the best game of all time.

I haven't played a game that's raised the bar so much in a long, long time. Exceeded my expectations in every way and is a pure example of how videogames are the ultimate form of human expression. The music, the freedom, the depth, the landscapes, the sidequests, the characters. That GUAR PLAINS BASELINE. Fucking perfection.
If it has the games you want, maybe you should be interested in it. :D

DQX is sounding a lot more promising with these details. I was worried online would feel out of place in this old traditional setting, but if they mask it with a post office it might feel really cool.
Re: Gaming Bargains V2 (1 year ago)
Kirby is now out of stock anyway. I bought Endless Ocean 2 there for $18, can't wait to get into it.
Re: Gaming Bargains V2 (1 year ago)
double post.. can't figure out how to delete
I stumbled upon a cheap copy of Shin Megami Tensei Digital Devil Saga 2 at ozgameshop for PS2, i'm really temped to get it. It'd be my first game in the series, how easy would it be to get into? Is it a good start? I'm a fan of RPGs like Dragon Quest and i've been looking for something a bit different.
Re: Gaming Bargains V2 (1 year ago)
Here's a heads up, because i've seen people here looking for it before. I just bought Samurai Warriors Chronicles at Big W, they had heaps of copies. It's the first time i've ever seen it in stores, seems like the only place you can get it still (not even on ebay). It's also available at Big Ws online store, and its $48! Plus $4 postage. I'm so relieved, been looking for this since launch. icon_biggrin.gif
Re: Gaming Bargains V2 (1 year ago)
Amazing. I'm guessing the range is fairly small though?
Re: Gaming Bargains V2 (1 year ago)
What the fuck, Australia Post sell Wii games? Awesome. Soon they'll be in vending machines.
Fair point, No More Heroes doesn't have the deepest battle system around. Damn satisfying though.
Where's everyone getting this from, any retailers advertising it yet?

I am very wary about this, but damn it has some pedigree behind it.

If it has the demented aesthetic and narrative elements of Suda' best work and the mechanical polish and creativity of Mikami's, then I'm definitely up for it.

Based on the footage I've seen it looks like a slightly mental Resident Evil 4. I hope it is more than that.
Thinking it'll only be like Resident Evil 4 sounds like a pretty dumb reason to be wary. It doesn't have to be the greatest game of all time, in fact I can tell you right now it wont be, but it'll still be fucking awesome!

Goldeneye Wii $26 posted at ozgameshop, limited stock left
Developers have had 5 weeks to work on Wii U games. 5 weeks. I really would not want to see the actual Wii U games yet. The only game to be up and running properly, with good graphics and good controller use is Darksiders II, and a few Ubi games.

I don't know about you but my wii has collected dust for a long ass time and even supposed aaa+ title underwhelmed. *cough* metroid otherm
If Metroid Other M is the only thing you've played on Wii recently then you're doing it wrong
Re: Gaming Bargains V2 (2 years ago)
Wow de Blob 2 sold out pretty quickly!
Sometimes I listen to Smash Bros Brawl music while racing online in MK Wii. The fast paced beats seem to suit the game better, especially in intense races. Good times.
Re: Gaming Bargains V2 (2 years ago)
Good question, I can't find it either. I checked three JBs in the city and none had it, it's not even on ebay.
Re: Gaming Bargains V2 (2 years ago)
Every 3DS launch game will be $55 at Target
Re: Gaming Bargains V2 (2 years ago)
Yep over 18 with photo ID it says.
