Castle crashers without a doubt, every girl loves that.

There's also an arcade game called Splosion Man which is fun for all genders.

Got the PS3 version (friends list) and I can tell you all, if you have the choice, GO THE 360 version.

The controls on the PS3 SUCK. BIG TIME. Way too sensitive and makes it completely frustrating.

This day and age, IM BOILING. ITS THAT BAD. BOYCOTT.
Time for a good old fashioned boycott.

I too am looking forward to this despite it not usually being my cup of tea.
Resident Evil 5. I don't know if everyone likes it, but all my friends do, and I just can't stand it. Controls are clunky and clumsy, and the combat is boring.

Has a little Alpha Protocol feel to it which to me was a unpraised gem, which was also a Sega title.
Alpha had great RPG mechanics (same guys who made KOTOR II, Fallout New Vegas etc), and the dialogue system was great, but the combat was just awful, simply awful. I couldn't get past it and returned it for that.
From the trailers this game sort of looks like its heading the same way? The combat looks a bit average, but everything else is great.

As for the trust thing its definitely an awesome idea, but from what I've seen it seems a bit over the top and melodramatic. Your in the heat of battle about to be overrun and you give an order and the response is "No thanks".

Think this is something that should be brought into other games such as Mass Effect.
They already did for Mass Effect 2. There's a loyalty system that affects their attitude towards you, and their performance in the final mission. Its probably not as in-depth but it seems to be more realistic to me. If somebody in your squad had reservations about you I can't see them denying orders left and right, they'd be dead in a few minutes.
http://rt.com/usa/news/megaupload-shut-million-authorities-231/

"Megaupload finished: Feds shut down file-sharing giant without SOPA"

"According to the official indictment, unsealed the same day, Megaupload is being accused of costing copyright holders upwards of $500 million in lost revenues because of content illegally uploaded to its servers."

When will they understand the notion that copyright infringment doesn't translate to 'lost revenue'.
Made my first portfolio website. www.alexcoates.net.au

Very basic at the moment and only contains work from my first client, and a comp I did through uni. Looking to spend the last month of holidays putting in some personal projects to make it more sexy.

Wow I'm really disapointed only because Relic are amazing. Company of heroes is to this day one of the best and most innovative RTS games I have ever played. Its where the idea for Dawn of War 2 came from essentially.

Really hope they get picked up by someone.
PC case gear I have built 3 computers from, very reliable.

I always get insurance just in case, but even so I doubt there'd be visible damage if the package was dropped.

Looks like a really cool concept. I won't say much here, better to watch the trailer without any pre-conceptions. Watch before scrolling down.

Basically as it turns out, it's a black comedy. Curious to see what they do with the concept.
That shot of the Nazi saluting in front of the flag is eery as hell, really disturbs me for some reason.
It's actually painful to watch. All they had to was make it set in the 1930's, could have been fine.
Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol

It was good in the sense that it didn't try to be anything other than it was, a pure action movie with next to no plot or character development. In that way I really enjoyed it, and there were a few impressive moments that I couldn't figure out how they shot.

Overall it was probably the best in the series for me personally in terms of enjoyment, then again I didn't see any of the others in a Cinema. Anyway it was a free advanced screening and I probably would have waited for DVD if that didn't come up but in hindsight its worth seeing if you just want a mindless action movie.
Re: The Hobbit (1 year ago)
So unbelievably pumped for this. Can't believe its still a whole year away though. They must have thrown in a bunch of shots in the Trailer that were purpose made for it.

I'm pretty excited for thsi, I really disliked the lord of the rings books and thought the movies were balls but **** dug the **** out of the hobbit. Can't wait to see the Riddle competition with Golum.

Also bout time we got some singing in one of these movies, that was half the **** books. (Though did they do that in The Hobbit? I only remember it specificaly from LOTR?)
I'm curious to know why exactly you didn't like them? I'd understand if you weren't a fan of LOTR or The Hobbit but only one? Just curious.

Hay "Aussie XP" How much did that end up costing you?
$150 for the game and $25 for shipping. But I preordered way back in July this year, I think they cost a fair bit more now due to short supply.
It came today! One day before Launch. Actually really impressed with Amazon, I didn't think many Americans would get it before launch let alone Australians.

They opened another 6 servers today. 3 on West and East Coast.
Was hoping Mario Tennis would be one of them. Used to love it for some reason, it doesn't make sense to me either.

You could level your dude on the GBA, then plug your cartridge into the N64 and import it into Mario Tennis 64. Pretty badass.
Aaand the queues begin. Last night most of the servers were medium or light when I left. Woke up this morning, 80% of them are FULL, the rest are VERY HEAVY. Must have been a big round of emails last night.

I just feel sorry for the 8 Americans on The Swiftsure who have NO idea whatsoever that everyone on their server is not American.
"Hey guys, what kind of dog would you want on your American Football Team? A golden reciever! Right guys, right?!"

Holy mother of fucking god jesus fucking christ.

I cannot get over how amazing this show is. Ep 10 (Involving Cartel), Ep 11 (Walter, on the floor laughing manically) and Ep 13, had the best endings out of any TV show I have ever seen I think.

They are genius's with the story, and the way everything is connected. I didn't think of this until afterwards, but even the way Walt was spinning the pistol on the table in the last episode, and it landed on the plant. At the time, it has no significance, and then boom, its the final shot of the season and everything ties itself together without a single word being spoken. Gus's death was probably the greatest on-screen death I have ever seen.

Overall I am amazingly excited for season 5. Its clear that over time we've seen Walt heading further towards becoming the antagonist, and Jesse has basically gone in the opposite direction to an extent.

This is an interesting read for theories on what will happen in the fifth season.I am glad they decided to wrap up the whole Gus - Walter feud as it would have been drawn out had it continued into season 5. The last theory is interesting. That would be so poignant if Hank ended up killing Walter. Although I think it would happen more as an accident followed by a holy shit realization that it was Walt all along.

Don't read this unless you are caught up through the end of Season 4.

No one knows what will actually happen, since the writers are good about creating scenarios that no one can predict, but here are some thoughts.

1) Walt will learn that his cancer has returned, and that this time he truly will die. He'll have maybe a year to live. This ironic sting will only enrage him more, taking away from his recent victory over Gus. It will make him even more of a risk taker, a man with nothing to lose. He will go full Heisenberg. This news of the cancer will also renew his mission of earning money to leave his family. Therefore...

2) Walt and Jesse will continue to cook meth, using the car wash as a lab. Like the laundry, the car wash can order large amounts of chemicals without raising suspicions. So how will they sell their meth?...

3) They will sell to Gus's old contacts. Gus and the cartel may be dead, but all of Gus's contacts are still active. There is still a vast network that will gladly buy Walt's meth (as they have been). So how will they make the connection to Gus's old network?...

4) Mike will work for Walt and Jesse. Yes, Mike. He will work for them mainly because Mike doesn't seem like the kind of man that would avenge Gus's death. There is no purpose to that. Mike is a hired gun with lots of connections. So if Walt and Jesse do get rolling again with the network, how will they launder their millions? Remember, Skyler realized late in the game that the car wash is not good enough as a front, saying that "no car wash in the world earns this kind of money"...

5) Skyler will launder the money through Ted's company. She can do this because Ted is not dead. It was implied, but no one actually said he was dead. He may be crippled or even paralyzed, but he is alive. Why would the writers keep him alive at this point? So Walt and Skyler can use Ted's company to launder their money. Ted's company would be perfect. Remember, it's debt-free now, ready to start over. Ted owes Skyler, and he is in deep now. Whether or not he wants to, Ted will agree to aiding their criminal activity, just as Skyler aided his.

6) The chess game of Season 5 will be between Walt and Hank. At this point, the DEA must surely worship Hank. All of his leads and theories have proved true, and his life has been on the line repeatedly. Thus, the DEA will give Hank the full authority and manpower to investigate any leads he wants. Hank and his agents vs. Walt and Jesse and Mike. It will be an intense chess game.

7) Walt will be killed by Hank in the line of fire in the season/series finale. Since Walt is going to die anyway (see theory 1), and he has at this point become somewhat of a monster like Gus, Walt's death will be sad yet satisfying. It will bring closure to the show and a poetic end to the character. Hank will enter this final showdown with Walt only moments after learning/realizing the truth: Walt is Heisenberg. Afterward, Hank will be torn about everything. Yes, he stopped Heisenberg, but at what cost to his family? To balance this, he will choose to not bust Skyler for her involvement. He will somehow let her take her kids and the money, and start life over in Colorado, as was foreshadowed by the coin flip at the Four Corners Monument.

The good news is that for getting that pirated version, Croteam has gone to the effort of giving you new enemy types!

The bad news? Well...

It moves ten times as fast as you and is immortal and has hitscan weapons.
Whoever was playing took it like a man though.

The first two hours I was unconvinced.
I'm hearing a lot of people saying that but also that it is much of the same. Extremely well polished but nothing new. No doubt this will be a success thanks to the Star Wars fans but it makes me wonder how this genre can evolve.
The fact that WoW held onto so many subscribers for such a long period makes me think it may never evolve until the day they realize it no longer sells.

Personally I find sandbox style games much more immersive and innovative, but everyone seems to go for theme-park style these days purely because it makes them feel good to increase their e-peen. That's really the entire purpose of games like WoW.

The story side of TOR has me hopeful though, so I will give it a decent go. Comments from some of my friends seem to be that its remained very faithful to KOTOR canon-wise.
Question for people who've finished this.

Is it ABSOLUTELY necessary to play AA before this? I know its a direct sequel but I don't have a problem with reading up on the storyline from the first game.

I've just got a huge backlog and limited time to go through it, so just looking for opinions on this.
I just finished 4 semesters of Uni squashed into 15 months, so I've been going mad finishing my backlog of games, some from up to 3 years ago.

Last week I finished:

Battlefield 3 Campaign - It was meh, I am a huge BF fanboy, so I wasn't really expecting much from a BF campaign and my expectations were just about met. It was worth playing I suppose, but nothing great.

Modern Warfare 3 - The exact opposite of how I feel about BF3. MP is terrible, Campaign was great. I liked how it tied into MW4, and overall it was just a good cheap thrills campaign.

Far Cry 2 - Kudos to them for trying to capture realism, but its not without flaws, the combat was a bit annoying at times and the ending was terrible.

Dead Space - Great great great game. I'd been on Chapter 9 since it came out way back, but finally finished it. Already half way through DS 2 and absolutely loving it.

Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days - I enjoyed the first one even though it was far from perfect. I really got into the storyline and liked the chemistry between the two. This sequel was just awful though, it had virtually no storyline whatsoever. The "youtube" style they went for is to be commended for its originality, but it almost seems like they used it as an excuse to simplify the game in many ways.

Is there any easy way to anticipate JB Hifi's sales? Particularly pertaining to TV Shows.

Me and the missus are TV show junkies and there are still many seasons we need to get. Last year I was lucky to walk into a JB whilst they were having a 50% of all Shows sale, and a couple of months back my Dad told me he went mad after they had a 2-for-1 sale on TV Shows.

Is there any way to know when they are doing this sort of thing? Do they have it on their site or something?

I don't sign up for sausagefests, what chick out there would willingly sign up for this?
I know at least 15 good-looking gamer chicks, and they all have friends who are also gamers. It's not uncommon, especially if they have a gamer brother.

I would be more worried about the certain kinds of guys who would rock up and deter any decent looking women from coming, thus perpetuating the sausage fest.

Overall It doesn't really appeal to me. If I was single I'd rather be actually talking to these women than playing games with them....I can play games any other time.
Mass Effect is easily my favorite. Gears of War and Dead Space are probably really close.
