Slight delay for Metal Gear Solid 4

PS3 News | Not an extra long delay, fortunately.

Konami has just sent around world that its highly anticipated conclusion to the Metal Gear Solid series has suffered an additional delay. While the title was originally set for a Q1 2008 release (or Winter, according to Konami), Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is now set for release in Q2 2008, that is between April and June next year.

The press release says that "Konami has decided to delay the title's release in order to make further improvements to the quality of the game and provide even greater enjoyment for more customers worldwide. Konami will continue its efforts to make Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots meet everyone's expectations."

I don't mind more time = better quality. Seeing as this is the last game they should take as long to perfect it.

meh, given Atari's track record with MGS titles, it wasn't as if we'd have seen this before June 2010 anyway.

Yes, I think it's pretty clear that's what was being implied there. Anyway, if it means a better quality product then the delay is ok, most people seem to agree. As for a 360 port, time will tell.

^ I think he was more or less saying that ALL these consoles would be dead by then because it would take so long to release, not that the 360 would die and have PS3 reign supreme.

didnt mean to create controversy with my comment, but I am a big Kojima fan and all gamers should be able to experience MGS4, 360 and PS3 alike.
