SingStar PS3 delayed

PS3 News | Not even Sony know when it's going to be ready.

After several delays already this year, the PlayStation 3 version of the extremely successful SingStar series has been delayed until further notice. In an interview with GamesIndustry.biz, a spokesperson from Sony claimed that the game is in need of some more testing, and would not be given a specific release period.

"We want to ensure that consumers have the best possible experience when playing SingStar on PlayStation 3. We are therefore taking extra time to test the downloadable content and community features of SingStar to ensure that it is as rich, simple and accessible a SingStar experience as possible," says Sony.

Other sources have indicated that it may actually be legal issues with the games licensed content that is holding the game back. SingStar was scheduled for a November release, but given this new information, it seems that unfortunately we'll be lucky to be playing it by the end of the year.

'Delayed indefintiely' aka when the ps2 singstar stops selling by the bucketload, move the cash cow to the next generation.

seems pretty logical to me from a profit making perspective.

^^^^^^haha so true this is why it's really handy to have a another console. While games get delayed just use the other console

2008 = 40 gig in the stream, Metal Gear Solid 4 and Final Fantasy XIII/XIII Versus to send sales crazy all over the world especially Japan, Killzone2 and LittleBigPlanet to send European/American sales way up and Singstar to sell a bucketload to those rich teenage girls who will buy PS3 just for Singstar. Yep, Sony has 2008 nailed.

I seriously doubt Singstar would sell on the PS3, at the moment only the hardcore buy it, this is probally a good move on Sonys behalf.

I can just see them trying to bundle the 40GB with singstar and eyetoy to get the ball rolling. I don't mind the delay as long as they are constantly trying to remove all bugs from the system, gives me some more time to practice singing in the shower.

Delaying something again thats already had a number of delays already isnt a good move at all.

Yeah I know Nintendo and Microsoft still exist lol, hell I own both a PS3 and 360 and think they are both great, but honestly 360's lineup of exclusives in 2008 is very tame. Ninja Gaiden 2, Banjo3 and Halo Wars. Thats it.

Its funny really, its like sony have some grand plan to keep us playing our ps2 and they really dont want us getting any use out of the PS3.

It isnt like pumping out new releases on the ps2 is going to be beneficial to PS3
owners! If they are the 40gig owning crowd its a fat load of uselessness
buying the ps2 games
